A few moments later, Joseph wrenched himself free of the thought, obeyed Clarence’s instructions, and headed out. Quietly, he shut the door behind him and left the two together.

The room was silent once more as Joseph departed.

Clarence crossed his fingers on his lap and set the towel down on the desk. "Can you solve all your problems with your tears?"

She kept letting the tears roll down her cheeks.

Clarence had been cleaning them for her for some time now, but they still fell, so he withdrew his fingers and offered her a gloomy grin.

"Fight back if you are unable of making amends. The world's most worthless thing is tears." Despite her inebriation, she could clearly hear someone speaking to her. She was unable to precisely understand what he was saying, though. All she could feel was that her skull was about to blow apart.

Sick, she struggled to open her eyes and saw a tall, thin man moving about the room. It was... a well-known figure. However, who was he?
