"Well?" Clarence had icy, profound eyes.

Stella stood staring at him while holding the quilt with one hand. There appeared to be a crust of ice in her cool eyes. She put it back a few moments later and whispered, "Nothing, as long as you are happy."

After that, she turned and strolled over to her ground-level bed. She then went outside.

Clarence took offense at her.

"Sorry, Mrs. Conrad, we have washed all the quilts today, so they are wet now, so we can't give you now," the embarrassed servant said to Stella as she went to retrieve the quilt.

"Not even one?" Stella scowled after hearing that.

Serving lady shook head.

"Really?" Stella scowled, not believing it.

Fearful, the servant bowed her head and said, "Mr. Conrad has ordered me to apologize; I hope you will forgive me, Mrs. Conrad."

Stella seems to be aware of it. She laughs, "Ok, since it was like that, I will give up."
