A Talk Between Two Boyfriends

“So how’s the trip going?” Sienna asked Emile.

“Pretty good. Just a bunch of testosterone, you know how it is.” Emile chuckled as he looked around and made sure Iris was nowhere near. “What are you up to?”

“Not much. I’ve been going out for drinks since I’m lonely.”

“What about your new friend?”

“Oh, she's busy this weekend. But I’ll be seeing her next week.”

“‘That’s good. Well I should get going. The guys are already on my ass for talking to you.” Emile stated.

“If you say so. I love you, Emile.”

“Yeah, you too.” He hung up.

Sienna was trying to remember the last time Emile had actually said the words ‘I love you’ to her. When did he stop saying it? When did it become ‘Me too’ and ‘You too’. Had he truly fallen out of love enough that he couldn't even lie with that phrase?
