Ashlynn's POV;

"I beg your pardon!" I screamed over the phone. "What is wrong with you! Getting my number? Tracking down my location? You're just a fucking creep who doesn't know when to give up, aren't you?"

"Actually I'm not a creep, Ashlynn. I just don't know how to take no for an answer."

If I wasn't so fucking mad at him, I would've swooned over the way my name eloquently rolled off his tongue, as well as every other word he pronounced. He was well spoken and dreamingly articulated.

"Listen here Julian, You are an obnoxious, terribly arrogant person and I would neve–"

"I'm pulling up into the parking lot." He interrupted, announcing and I swung around immediately and spotted a black Phantom Rolls Royce rolling sleekly into the lot. My jaw slacked in amused shock as the vehicle steered closer to where I stood.

It was undoubtedly him. He wasn't bluffing.

And he was obviously loaded because my mother was a wealthy business woman yet, I don't think she can afford a car this classily expensive.

Oh shit, I can't let him get to me.

What if he had very tall, large men in that car and then they'd hoist me into the vehicle and abduct me? I needed to leave here, now.

I took to my heels immediately, and it was so hard and painful running in those shoes but I didn't care, I needed to get away from him as far as possible.

"Don't try to run away because I will find you again. You can't hide from me."

I forgot that I had not yet ended the call, and his words flowed so smoothly out of the speaker and I had immediately halted in my tracks, panting breathlessly. Was he really serious?

"Perfect. I like that you're being a good girl."

Three words. He scared me.

The Black Phantom soon caught up and pulled over in front of me. The front passenger door flung open and a huge man dressed in all black and dark shades stepped out, going over to the passenger side and opening the door.

Then he alighted. And my jaw dropped, again.

The truth was that in all twenty six years of my entire life, I had never seen such a gorgeous man.

I knew he was handsome from when I first met him at the club, but I couldn't take in all of his features due to the murkiness of the area and off course, the circumstances of our meeting.

He looked like he had just walked out of a "Sexiest Man Alive Magazine." Cringe as hell but– fuck, he was so god-damned good-looking. And I'd be evil if I kept all the candid details to myself.

His lush jet-black hair was neat and flowing, groomed so carefully such that they deeply complimented his aquamarine-green eyes that were beautiful, orb-round and shone like two eternity green jewels, yet they held a cold, hostile gleam etched in their glassy gaze, and it was almost bewitching.

His chiseled jawline was a bit downplayed by his neatly, bearded face and his lips sat gracefully on his face, which seemed like it was always, permanently scowled but in a tremendously attractive way. He was tall, rigidly fit and dazzled with flare in his red two piece suit as he alighted the vehicle with trembling purpose and authority.

His eyes settled on me, and suddenly I felt so small and little under his gaze as he stared me up from head to toe. And then he advanced towards me in a tiger-like thread, not skipping a beat as his green eyes twinkled.

"We meet again, Ashlynn." He spoke, his face was still ever-plane with the familiar unfeeling mug he always had on. The coldness in his presence was intimidating and I kept an unfazed face and tried to look as menacing as I could, even though I was still slightly scared and the swirl of his Jasmine scented cologne was swooning me to ashes.

"Leave me alone." I managed to speak, my orality was still recovering from being near this specimen that manifested so much hotness.

"We have a lot to talk about Ashlynn, to think I'd leave you alone." He huffed. "Let's go somewhere private and talk."

      "I'll miss my interview."

I had intended for the words to sound more firm and curt, but they came out in a tone that rather suggested that I desired to meet him but I couldn't because of my interview.

And that was a lie! I hated him.

He looked up at the tall company, spotting it's name spelt with bold letters at the top of the building "This is one of the companies I'm in partnership with and I can tell you that they pay well, but your salary in five years wouldn't be able to equate to all you'd gain from this contract."

Was he serious right now?

But I had to admit, the offer was getting really tempting now. I mean it sounded nice, I'd marry a handsome man like him and get paid for it. It was a win, win.

I was on the brink of saying yes, but then the matter-of-fact that he was still an arrogant jerk and I was still very much in mourning of my fiancee slapped me right across the face.

"I'm still not interested." I answered, looking down at my feet because if I gaze into those eyes, then maybe I'd–

He stepped closer to me, closing up the small space that was between us and my heart faltered as he cupped my jaw in his hand and tilted my head to look up to him. "I don't want it to get to this but I'll have you know that I always get what I want, by any means possible."

"If you want this job so bad, fine. You can go in there for your little interview and most certainly you'd get the job because you seem so smart." He said and his lips spread into a wide, mischievous smile. "But don't be surprised if one day, this building catches on fire and is burnt down to the fucking ground." His tone was low yet sternly passing across his message as his cold gaze poured into my eyes and pierced deeply into my soul. And I swear, the moment he said that, my heart was rapidly racing over it's fucking speed limit.

Fuck, why was he so scary?

"Or I may buy the whole fucking company and then fire you, just to frustrate you. I can be that petty, Ashlynn."

The way those words oozed out of his tongue so casually and unhindered is what gets me all the time! And I felt like a fucking coward for being scared of him.

But he was just bluffing, right?

I shouldn't be afraid. I was a fucking serial killer and I was dangerous–fuck, I could pull out a knife and fucking stab this bastard right now if I wanted to. He shouldn't scare me!

"I don't give two fucks." I slapped his hand off my face and stepped away from him. "You can buy the whole of the earth if you'd like and kick me out to Saturn, but I would never marry you."

I felt so fucking proud of myself standing up to this cocky bastard because with the way he always carried himself so snobbilly and arrogantly, it seemed like no one else had the balls to do that.

"Now if you'd excuse me Mr. Julian Kings, I have an interview to get to and I'm running late." I said with a bright, proud smirk and turned around to leave.

"Just get into the car and hear what I have to say, Ashlynn."

     "Suck my dick!"

"If you go away, Ashlynn, I will find you. I've told you that haven't I?" The timbre in his tone had changed now, and he sounded awfully cruel, it sent fucking shivers down my spine. "I will trace you to your fucking roots if I have to and I will find out everything there is to know about you, Ashlynn. Just so I can know exactly when and where you will be."

The impact of his words hit me where it hurt and I was pulled to a stop on my tracks. Now, what he said really frightened me, deeply.

What if he was actually being serious about it and he found out that I was a murderer, the killer of my own fiance and sister.

Shit! He'd blackmail me with it, or maybe report me to the cops just because he hated my guts and was petty.

That was when I gave up, I realized that I couldn't win against Julian Kings and before you could scream "Sexy Venetian Mistress", I was already in his car, off to some fancy restaurant to talk business.

Julian placed his order and the very kind elderly, waitress with a brunette bob jotted it down with a smile. "Anything else?" The sweet lady asked. "I didn't say I wanted the Island Duck with mulberry mustard." I spat at Julian. Why would he suddenly assume I wanted that, and who the fuck eats duck meat? Isn't it like, illegal to kill ducks? "I'd like to place a different order." I turned to the lady, smiling and she nodded, ready to take down my new order. "No, you won't. You're having the Island Duck." Julian immediately retorted and the waitress's face crumpled in confusion. "I'm not eating a fucking duck!" "You will eat it, Ashlynn." "No, I won't. I'm vegetarian and I can't have meat." I lied. You should see me at 3am gnawing on the innocent flesh of deep-fried peppered turkey legs. I just desperately didn't want Julian to have h

Ashlynn's POV: It’s been four days. Four whole days. Ninety-six fucking hours. Five Thousand, Seven Hundred and Sixty Minutes. Three hundred and Fourty Five Thousand, Six Hundred seconds, do the math. And I had surprisingly not been contacted by Julian— much to my relief. I guess he finally gave up on me and found another chic to play charades with him. I was at Kyndall and Dave— her newly wedded husband’s private beach house, with Hailey and Brooke for a fifth wedding after party because according to Kyn, you can throw as many wedding parties as you wanted. It was beach themed, off course and we were all in our swimwear and bikinis. I was wearing a blue bikini. Hailey, Broke and I were laid on our tanning beds, tanning at the beachside while Kyndall and Dave were in the beach house. They said they wanted to cook lunch for everyone. But something told me that they were cooking up something else, because that’s all newly married couples ever did. Leave them

Ashlynn's POV: Some person— who really thought they ate, said that it life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. Well, unfortunately for me, I currently had a lot on my plate and none of it were delicious lemons.Hence the reason why I'm thirty-three thousand feet above the ground, in Julian's private jet, flying to New York where he's based so we could get married. And hopefully, be away from the cops. Luckily for me, the sirens that I had heard outside of my house weren't for me, but were rather for my neighbor, the Accountant, who's house was said to have been loaded with hard drugs and narcotic. So I dodged that bullet successfully. Julian Kings being fucking loaded was an understatement, and if I knew the adequate adjectives to measure his fat wealth, I would've used them at this juncture. The size and interior of his private jet spelt rich and class in bold, highlighted letters. "A drink?" Julian's offer whisked me away from my thoughts and I looked at the tall

Julian's POV: Today had been one hell of day, and it wasn't even afternoon yet. My phones had been buzzing non-stop all day. I had received calls upon calls, a lot of congratulatory messages, exclusive interview requests and even some family friends decided to buy thoughtful wedding gifts and mail them to my office. I guess it wasn't such a good idea to have announced Ashlynn and I being together on fucking social media. But we had to make everything seem believable. It would be quite suspicious if everyone wakes up one morning and they hear that Julian Kings had suddenly married some girl. We had to give it a process of some sort. Hence the reason for the Instagram picture I had literally forced Ashlynn to pose romantically for, and a few other carefully planned scenarios that would follow after this. The doors to my office opened and my secretary, June, walked in with my savior in a cup—black brewed coffee, alongside some files in her hands. "Here is you

Ashlynn's POV:Today, I woke up feeling like complete shit. I was sick again, I had just recovered from a bad cough too, plus I was feeling bloated and I think I had gained a considerable amount of weight in a short span on two weeks. None of my dresses fitted anymore. Thank God Julian was taking me shopping, because I had no money to get new clothes. He had suddenly called and demanded I got ready for an impromptu dress-sho pping and I had no idea why. When I asked he said he'd explain to me when he got here and then he hung up. Rude jerk. It's been two days since we had flown from Vegas to Tribeca, New York where he lived and then he lodged me at some fancy hotel for the mean time, until we got married. Married. I still cringe at the thought of getting married to that proud bastard, but I had no choice. My mother on the other hand was happy when I had called to tell her I was getting married, and she was even happier when I told her it was a rich business m

Ashlynn's POV We finally reached the venue, it was the banquet space of a very large five-star hotel. At the front of the hotel, there was a red carpet with blinding flashing lights as numerous paparazzi and journalists were perched everywhere. The carpet dazzled with the elegance and gorgeousness of the attendees. "We're here. Try to be of good behavior and don't go running your mouth to anyone." Julian warned and I rolled my eyes at him, did he tubing I was a child or a fool who didn't know what to do in situations like this?"And oh, before I forget." He added, reaching for his left front pocket and bringing out a small velvet encase. I furrowed my brows in puzzled confusion as he brought it out. What was he doing? However, my expression immediately changed to an awe-struck gape of surprise as my jaw slacked at the sight of the magnificent necklace that sat in the case. "I got this for you. So take off that crappy necklace on your neck and wear this instead. When anyone

Julian’s POV:“You must be joking, mother.” I chuckled sardonically. She definitely had to be joking. I thought we were gone past the bullshit matchmaking game she enjoyed playing. She had set me up with yet another girl? When was she going to give up and understand that I was never going to get married to any of those girls she picked out for me. “I’m not son, and the sooner you understand that I’m being very serious about this, the better for you and that girl, Marilynn.” “It’s Ashlynn, mother. You should also know that I’m being serious about marrying her. And the sooner you understand that I’m fucking serious about her, the better for you and whatever girl you’ve arranged for me.” And with that, I stormed out of the living room despite her calls for me to come back and her speech on how a child should be respectful and not walk out on their parents. I slammed by bedroom door shut and that was the sharp cut that faded my mother’s angered voice. I let out a pent up frust

Ashlynn’s POV: I had to take a moment to digest the absurdity of what Julian had just spat at my face. Remind me again, what sort of obnoxious jerk did I get myself involved with? “You really want me to sleep on the couch?” I questioned, the annoyance in my tone was vivid and profound. “I believe I didn’t stutter, Ashlynn. And I like repeating myself.” Julian’s stance was unwavering and it infuriated me the more. I shot him a death glare, “I hate you.” He shrugged unprovoked. I sighed, realizing once again that there was no winning against Julian Kings. I got off the bed murmuring profanities at him and made my way to the couch, taking one of the smaller blankets and a pillow alongside. I scrunched my face in disgust as I laid on the unpalatable material I was being forced to sleep on. It was very comfortable for a couch, but as a bed? Not so much. “Good.” Julian commented and I flipped my middle finger at him. He huffed, switching off the lights and the room

I was resisting the urge to smack Julian’s head, then ask him a million and one questions about his daughter, especially the fact that he hadn’t told me about her. I tried to mask my surprise and shock, hoping that none of those emotions had crept to my face because his family would be suspicious that he hadn’t told his dearest, darling fiancée that he had a daughter. A scowl took over Hazel’s face as she noticed my presence, “Who is she?” She pointed at me. “Another one of your dad’s concubines, sweetie.” That was Mrs. Kings answering before Julian could even speak. “Come let’s get you ready for bed.” She added, glared at me wickedly and then came over to get Hazel. Ashlynn’s POV: I had read about Julian Kings during my free rime at the hotel and I saw how much of a bloody casanova this guy was. The blogs, tabloids, media pages and his whole search results feed was full of headlines of how he had affairs with some of the most prolific ladies in the entertainment industry and had so many other conquests apart from that. Being that I grew up in the United Kingdom, I didn’t really know how much of a fucking playboy Julian Kings was and now, I’m no longer associating myself with such energy. I took the elevator down to the gala hall and was about making my way towards the exit, angrily stumping and carried away with my angered thoughts and because of that, I didn’t even know when I had stumbled into someone. “I’m so sorry.” I immediately voiced an apology and the person immediately turned around, it was none other than Sydney, Julian’s sister and I had just spilled her wine on her beautiful emerald green dress. Just great. “I’m

I found myself kissing back with the same fervour and intensity his lips pressed on mine, and god did it feel so good. Jesus, I was so unbelievable. This was a man I was supposed to be angry at for ditching me at this gala, yet instead of pushing him away, I did the most pathetic thing by moaning, thereby granting him the access and pathway to slide his tongue into my mouth. And it was when I felt the foreign element in my mouth that realization slapped me right across the damn face and my eyes widened, as I pulled away from him. I could still feel the current throbbing in my lips from the endearing kiss and I resisted the urge to touch them, that would only fuel his already massive and highly inflated ego. I could also still taste him in my mouth; he tasted so good and

Especially considering the fact that she’s doing it behind her son’s back. “Just think about it critically. We both know you’re only here for his money.
