Charlotte took a deep breath.

“I don’t blame you for seeing me that way. Honestly, I don’t want a divorce, but it’s not because I want your money. I really don’t want to see you suffer. If our divorce can quell your hatred for me, then you are perfectly welcome to abide by the terms of our prenup and dump me.”

She felt as if a huge hole had been dug into her heart. An endless stream of sadness and reluctance filled her being, like a monstrous wave gushing out of his empty void, crushing her and suffocating her.

She was afraid that she would lose control and burst into tears if she looked at him anymore. She quickly turned around and ran toward the door.

“Is that why you’re really here?”
