Agat Rayden scowled and muttered some Italian words under his breath as his fake date abandoned him. He didn't even remember her name. She wanted to be his real date. He was ready to pay a huge amount for being his fake date. He'd never actually date when he didn't feel for her.
He was desperate to have a date tonight, so he could introduce her to his parents as his future wife. It wasn't like his CEO post was in danger. But it could be if he couldn't fulfil the wish of his father. His father's condition was driving him crazy. He would marry only when he'd feel for her, his heart should beat for her, not because his father's testament was demanding it.
He was already running late for the party. His father would declare his retirement after it, only if he introduced them to his future wife. He had worked hard a lot to gain his position in the company. He couldn't allow anyone to destroy everything.
' I wanna be your actual date. If you say yes! Call me. '
He frowned at the message. He wanted to crush the phone in his hand, but it wasn't the time for showing anger. He shoved his phone in his coat's pocket. No excuse would work with his father now. He highly doubted his charm over his father. The media was already waiting for him out of his office. He wanted to dig his head in his work. But it was quite impossible with the words of his father.
"Mr Rayden... " His assistant said, opening the door. Her hand was still holding the doorknob. There were thick glasses over her nose and she was holding her tab. She always reminded him of his mother. Although, she wasn't that older.
" Mr Chris Rayden called. He was asking for you. " She said as she walked into the office and stood in front of the desk.
" Mrs Blake, " He stared down at his wrist, " Your kids must be waiting for you. It's late. " He said, looking up at her.
" It's Friday evening. They are with their aunt for the weekend. My husband will be here in a few minutes. " Crimson red crept on his cheeks. She was in her early forty. He had seen pure love between them, a perfect couple. Which still made him believe, ' true love still exists. '
He managed a small smile for the woman as he didn't want to shout at her. Obviously, he didn't want to spoil her date with her husband, " You can wait for Mr Blake in the lobby. It's not your working hour. " He said looking up at him.
" Thank you, sir. " She said and walked out. A smile tugged on her face.
He blew out a slow breath and pulled his shoulders straight. He hadn't felt the need to snap things before, nor he felt helpless before.
His phone buzzed with a text. He lifted the phone and stared at it with a deep frown.
I'm waiting for you two.
His father texted him. He didn't click to replay. He gathered his coat from the chair and walked smoothly out of his office. He pocketed his phone and took out the keys of his car.
I can tell them. She's sick. It'd earn me some time to find me a fake girlfriend.
He was ready to give her a handsome sum. But with his conditions. He didn't want a mess.
He left his office from the back door of the building. The media always wanted to know about him. It wasn't just his parents, but all news channels, reports were waiting for him to reach the party with his girlfriend.
The place was deserted. His expensive car was parked in front of a sign Rayden limited. He stepped onto the grey pavement. He opened his car door. He got behind the wheels and ran his hand in his hair. He exhaled with a sound. He was careful, his one mistake could leak this in the media. He didn't want it to be the headline in the morning. He accelerated the car. He was hoping his excuse to work.
He pulled over the car in the garage and looked out of a window. He was nervous for the first time in his life. His bodyguards stepped out of the black SUV. He didn't need them, but he wanted to stay away from the media and their questions. He beckoned at them to pursue him.
He entered the hall silently. All gazes turned to him, flashes of light were hitting his eyes. His bodyguards kept the reports at some distance but their questions were still reaching to his ears, He raked his eyes around to see his parents. He was ready with his excuse and hoped it would work.
His eyes caught a beautiful figure standing near the gargantuan glass wall. He heard his heartbeats in his ears. His hands itched to touch her. The hall was full of buzz, and music. She was standing alone, showing her back at the hall but he could see the glimpse of her beautiful face. She was in black, full sleeves dress. Her half-length hair was straight and spread over her back. Gathering them at her one shoulder, he wanted to place a soft kiss on her neck. He could see the soft skin from the transparent cloth of her arms. While all women seemed to compete in showing skin. She was wearing extra clothes compared to others. But he loved it. His lips curled up into a smile.
Good, I didn't want anyone to ogle at her. I don't care if it will be breaking news.
He stepped closer to her. He didn't want to startle her. His eyes were fixed on her. He couldn't avert his sight away. She was in a floor-length gown with a round neckline hiding her collarbones. Correct Apparel! He had seen her many times. When all eyes were glued to him, his eyes were on her, and her eyes were always lowered doing her work.
She's perfect to be my wife. But for now, she'll be my date.
He strode at her side confidently. He stood with a small distance between them. He looked at her face with a small smile. She was staring out at the night view of the city. Her face was calm and her smile was adding more charm to her beauty. He placed his hand on the mirror wall down her hand.
Perfect!
He never prayed but he was praying for her to be single whenever he glimpsed at her. He would prepare the contract in such a way that it would merge her with him for eternal life.
I was standing alone in the crowded hall. The entire Rayden family was supposed to attend this party. I was feeling alone as my friend, Becca was suffering from fever. I slanted my gaze around and it rested on him. Chris Rayden is the most handsome guy in the party right now and a playboy too. Rich boy with bad habits and spoiled kid of his parents. He is an apple in every girls' eyes tonight.' It was his another grand party to celebrate his taking one step ahead at the success. All businessmen were presented at this high profile party. Chris' eyes met mine. A woman in a red hot dress was standing so close to him that her chest was brushing his arm. ' I don't know, he loves his parties like this or he can't help himself. I'm a shy girl. I don't know how to
Incoherently, I felt a strong grip on my upper arm which started to drag me with it. When I lifted my eyes, it was Chris, " What are you doing, sir? " I protested but in a low voice. I didn't want to create a scene. I am Agat's partner and that scandal was enough for tonight. Chris didn't stop dragging me with him. He didn't look back at me once that it was hurting me. He was pathetic. He walked into the ladies room, " Out! " He yelled at all. I flinched with his cold tone. All ladies immediately rushed out of the washroom with shocked expressions. They stared at me before leaving. Now it was only we two. I swallowed hard. What is wrong with him? Why did he drag me like this as I am some sort of criminal? He turned me and conquered my back w
We were in the elevator. His hand was wrapped around me still, " I'll manage, Sir. You haven't any need to waste your time. " I told him as I was still in his office. " Agat, you'll never use Sir for me. " he wryly looked at me. I glanced back. He was looking damn serious about it. It was shocking, " Absolutely, I'm not wasting my time. I'm investing. " he said. Investing in me? I raised my eyebrows, " We are not ending up on the same mattress. " I coyly told him. He spun me to face him. His attention on me, " You are special. You're not like them all at the party. " He said. He wasn't touching much but his hand on my waist was doing strange things to me. The elevator dinged open, I immediately broke my gaze from him and turned to rush out. But I stopped as I spotted the media standing there with their cameras. " Oh
I locked the door and put my clutch and file on the table. The walls were brighter red than outer and one wall was carrying a different shade of light yellow colour and golden clouds on it. Expensive paintings were hanging on the wall. On my right side, there was a big dark screen mounted over the wall. There was a queen-size bed with a white cover and cushions. I plopped on the brown couch and stared at the dark screen. ' Two million! I can't earn it with my current job. Okay, I don't have a job. I'm not qualified for a higher post. I passed all the files here and there and worked on the computer. I don't wanna work in any night or a strip club. That will be horrible. I couldn't complete my study. My mother and stepfather died in a car accident. My brother is my family. ' I picked up the fil
I was trapping myself in his net. I should deny it but all the time I agreed with him. I wiped the tears, " Take it as a business deal. " I told myself. I sat on the couch and grabbed the remote control from the glass table. I switched on the television. I muted its voice. I didn't want him to come downstairs and tell me to switch it off. I was just his normal employee, with a very special rank, His future wife. I was hoping in the morning when I would open my eyes. I wanted to wake up in my room. I was shuffling the channel. I stuck with a familiar face, Agat. I stopped my finger from moving the channel with a smile, although there was no reason to show my teeth. But it didn't last long. My mouth hung open in disbelief. ' Mystery girl is going to be the queen of eligible billionaires, the new CEO!'
'This pathetic man has mood swings.' I pursed my lips and walked to the door. Which was looking at me the path to hell now. He's pathetic! He set rules for me and for himself, he didn't like to do the same to him. I recognized his lawyer immediately as I had seen him in newspapers, sometimes standing behind him and along, depending on the situation. He was in his advocate attire. There was one more guy, He was in a black suit. They were discussing perhaps the contract, " Agat, " I whispered. But it echoed in the empty hall. He raked his eyes on me, taking his time. I couldn't trust him as he didn't set any rule for him. But right now! I was nervous about my look in his eyes? ' I know abo
After breakfast, he asked me to wait in the hall room. I could not sit on the couch. I was pacing froth and back. The thing was, I could not get him out of my mind. According to him, we had signed the marriage paper. I avoided reading it as I had already read it last night. I was repenting now that I should read it. There was possibly he could merge more paragraphs in it. ' He's effortlessly charming. I'm his wife. Tension is gonna make me sick. He has a killer smile. I wanna run away from him. I can do something stupid.' " Ready? " He asked, coming into the hall. I turned on my heels to see him. He was buttoning his dark grey coat. I grabbed my clutch and slightly nodded my head, " I need to collect my things. If you'll give me an hour. " I told him. He snorted and slipped his hands in his pocket, " Forg
Instead of tied with the seatbelt, I woke up on a soft mattress, in a different environment. I was thinking. Where was I? I was on the plane. I quickly put my feet down and rushed at the door. When I opened he was already standing on the other side of it. " Plane is going to land, come. " He said and held my hand. My sleepy head was muted, lost in its slumber. I didn't try to stop him when he pushed my shoulder down, making me sit on the seat. I blinked as he bent down and worked his hands on my waist, marking me safe with a seat belt. He did not raise his eyes at me. He sat in the next seat and stapled himself. I glanced out of the window, " You sleep well? " He asked. I jerked my neck as my eyes met his. I nodded my head. He narrowed his eyes on me, " Yes, " I whispered slowly and turned back at
I watched kids with amusement as they were rushing from one door to another. It seemed impossible to me. But she cooked delicious food for my family. My parents and her mother were sitting on the couch, drinking their tea and talking. They were looking happy. I couldn't help admiring her petite figure in a red dress. I quite enjoyed the view. She was my wife. We hadn't officially signed any contract but marriage papers definitely. I could feel my blood rushing with pleasure at the thought of her in my arms. She let me hold her last night. I told her the dark truth of my life. I was expecting hatred. But she accepted me with all my mistakes. Still, I wanted to make it official. I had asked Agat to help me. Alyssum, Victoria, Becca and Kallie were preparing dinner in the kitchen. This house seemed usele
I hadn't smiled this much before. I could see my world when I looked into his eyes. I hadn't felt loved before. He made me feel. I was here to take my niece. But he took away my heart and gave me every reason to smile, to laugh and to spend life with him. His tears were heart wrecking. I let his pain through his tears, though it was shattering to watch him like this. I let him hold me the whole night, pressing his lips to mine. We slept in each other's arms. I smiled looking at him sleeping. Reluctantly, I extended my hand and slipped in his silky dark hair. I pressed my lips to his forehead. Silently, I slid out of the bed and walked into the washroom. I was in his room. I hadn't seen this part of the house. He never allowed me in before. It wa
She glanced at me leaving everything behind. There was no worry, tension and fear of losing anything on her face. She thought. I didn't know it. But I knew every move of her body. She was developing feelings for me. I had chosen her for this because I wanted her to be my wife. I was expecting her to hate me, leave me after knowing the truth. But she was still here. I didn't want her to feel for me. She would get nothing but a beast, a broken heart. I wasn't blaming Aly for my heartbreak, but myself. I liked her, she knew it. Still, I was sleeping with other girls instead of talking about my feelings. I did not consider myself a perfect husband like my father and brother. I told her the dark secret of my life in the hope she would hate me and stop feeling for me. I saw respect in he
I began to walk back and forth. His poker face frightened me most. He wouldn't question me about what I was doing here without informing him. The door opened. He peeled off the phone from his ear as his gaze met mine. Slotting his phone back into his pocket, he strode at me. What was hurting him, the thoughts were making my head hurt. I trudged near him. and looked in his eyes, "Chris," I whispered. "Yea," He ignored to look at me and frowned at the piles of the files. I sighed and turned to the desk. I picked them one by one and arranged it on the wooden ranks, "I know. You don't trust in our wedding. But we can be friends." I said. I forwarded my hand to put the last file. He grasped my hand and twirled me, "What are you trying
I woke up wearing that stupid short silky dress. Tears leaked from my eyes. I rushed toward the washroom and got rid of it. I didn't make breakfast today. I wasn't expecting him to be home. But I heard footsteps and hope raised, forgetting all the torture of last night. He sat down on the chair. I stood up without a word and walked into the kitchen. I didn't want him to go to the office without eating like yesterday. Hurriedly, I cooked for him and served him. I got in the chair and grabbed my coffee again. It was cold and I wasn't bothered. He casually slid his phone on the table and looked at me across the table, "Where's your food?" He asked. "I'm not hungry," I sai
He rang the bell. I watched my surrounding, manicured garden, flowers, trees queues on the side of a single road. If Chris thought, I would change my mind after seeing their wealth. He got me wrong. I spun hearing the door creaking. Alyssum was standing in her shorts, her face was sleepy, her hair was in a loose bun, she stared at us for a second with her blue eyes, She smiled at our sight and beamed. She was looking like a cute little girl with bare feet and her smile. My eyes caught a mark on her neck. "Still sleeping!" Chris arched his eyebrows and leaned in to kiss her cheek. My gaze stopped on her throat. There was a slight mark. She blinked, looking up at him nervously and then smiled. I had heard rumours that my husband was in love with her. I didn't believe the rumou
Our mother in law opened the door for us. Her face brightened looking at her grandchildren. She bent down and hugged them at one time. Alyssum and I laughed. I could see the same excitement on Aidan's face too, who remained with his gadgets the entire day. I must say my mother in law was beautiful, "How are you, mom?" She asked. "I have seen my grandchildren. You can see my smile." She grinned. Alyssum laughed, I smiled too. The thing was, I hadn't experienced what being with family felt like. Now I could be confirmed, it was a blessed feeling. She embraced me with the same enthusiasm. I relaxed in her motherly hold. She invited us in. Kids were already in the room and playing on the blanket where
An icy chill ran down my spine. The thought of my mother laying on the bed terrified me. I needed to concentrate on Chelsea. I should tell her that Alyssum wasn't her mother then it could be. I could persuade her to come with me. I should invite Alyssum for Lunch with her kids. I grabbed my phone and called on her number. "Hello, " I recognized her sweet voice. "Hi, Chelsea! I'm your Zara Aunt." "I'm Elsa," She giggled. "How are you?" I started the conversation with a simple question. I heard another voice. She wasn't alone. I didn't have any experience with kids. I was trying my best. I waited for her to reply. "Mom, it's Zara aunt." Then it went silent. "Are you ok?" I furrowe
PART - TWO I glanced at happy, smiling faces. The wedding was simple but royal one. I couldn't make such arrangements for my wedding. I got married. It didn't seem fair that my sister's one night stand partner was my husband now. My gaze was on Chelsea. My mother and my mother in law…… They were looking at kids and laughing over something. A nurse was sitting on the chair behind my mother. Alyssum's sons, Aidan and Dairo were playing in the background with Renee. She was Victoria and Harris' daughter. Chelsea and Renee were holding a small girl's hand. I didn't know her name but she was Alyssum's best friend's daughter, Becca and Nathan. There were only a few people, almost family. All were rich and businessmen. Chris squeezed my hand. I swivelled and looked at him. His gaze was gi
