Alex's lips claimed Michael's once more, their mouths melding in a deep, fervent kiss, as if they were made to fit together.

Sliding between Michael’s thighs, Alex pressed in close, his hips rolling in a slow, deliberate rhythm, grinding against him with heated urgency.

A soft moan escaped Michael’s lips. His lashes fluttered open for a fleeting moment, catching sight of Alex, eyes still shut, lost in the depth of their kiss.

Michaels’ hand reached for Alex’s shirt and he hastily tried to unbutton his shirt, without breaking the kiss. Because he couldn’t see the buttons, he couldn’t hardly unbutton them.

Alex suddenly broke the kiss and moved away. With a grab on his shirt, he ripped it apart, all the buttons flying off.

“Haa.” Michael gasped in shock as Alex’s bare chest came into sight.

“The buttons were beginning to piss me off.” Alex whispered with a dangerous-looking smile. He made Michael wrap his arms around his neck and he carried him off the couch.

Isla couldn’t help but steal glances at Sophie, noticing how off her mood had been ever since she stopped talking to Michael. She wasn’t even sure Sophie was in the right state of mind to handle work. The thought of her breaking down at the office and drawing unwanted attention made Isla uneasy. As Sophie ran a comb through her hair, her phone screen lit up with a new message. At first, she ignored it, too disinterested to check. But just before the screen dimmed again, her eyes flicked over it—and froze. Michael. Her breath hitched as she snatched the phone. He said he’ll be at the restaurant near my office during lunch.” Sophie placed her phone aside, her voice uncertain.Isla studied her closely.

Sophie kept her eyes on her phone screen as she worked, staring endlessly at Michael’s message. She kept contemplating whether or not she should reply to it. She looked at the time and saw it was almost time for lunch. ‘Let’s do this.’ She thought as she picked up her phone and clicked on his message. “Okay.” She sent the text and quickly kept her phone aside. She didn’t wait to check if the text delivered or if he read it. “Are you alright?” Her colleague, whose desk wasn’t so far from her asked, stretching her head to the side so she could look at her. Sophie answered with a grin, “Yeah, why?” “I have been noticing your mood since morning. You are extremely quiet today and that is so not like you.” Her colleague responded, still staring at her. “Thank you, Anne. I am fine… just a little under the weather.” Sophie assured her, keeping her smile wide and generous. Anne nodded, “Take care of yourself before the boss comes to frustrate you even more.” she looked away. Sophie rol

Mrs Bennett, with a wide smile, walked into the room where Ivy and her friends were. She was putting on her wedding dress. “How are we looking?” Mrs Bennett asked them as she moved closer to where Ivy stood in front of the mirror. “She’s almost ready to walk down the aisle.” Her over-enthusiastic friend responded as she ran the makeup brush through her face. “Just some finishing touches.” Mrs Bennett nodded as she stared at Ivy’s face. She noticed the sad expression Ivy was trying to mask with her faint smile. Mrs Bennett turned to look at her friends. “Can you please give us a minute?” She asked them and they nodded, making their way out of the room. As soon as they were out, Mrs Bennett shut and locked the door behind them. “What is going on, Ivy?” She asked, Ivy lifted the skirt of her dress and slowly turned to look at her mother. “Mother, you know what is wrong.” She answered in a low tone, almost as if she was weak. “Jeremy doesn’t want this.” Mrs Bennett furrowed her bro

But time dragged on, and they were nowhere in sight. ‘What on earth is going on?’ she wondered, reaching for her phone to call Jeremy and find out why he hadn’t arrived yet.She dialed his number, tapping her foot impatiently as the call rang. But it just kept ringing…and ringing…until it finally disconnected.Just then, the priest leading the ceremony stepped out of the hall and spotted her.“Mrs. Bennett, what’s going on? We’re running late,” Father Abraham said, glancing at his wristwatch.Offering a nervous smile, she dipped her head slightly. “I’m sorry, Father. The groom’s car broke down on the way, but the bride should be here any moment now.”Father Abraham gave a small nod. “Alright.” Without another word, he turned and made his wa

By the time Jaxon and Isla returned home that evening, it was already late. Mrs. Bennett had persuaded them to stay for dinner at her house, and they had happily agreed.Ray pulled into the driveway, bringing the car to a stop in front of Jaxon’s sprawling mansion. As usual, Alex was the first to step out, moving swiftly to open the door for Jaxon and Isla.“Go inside, baby. I’ll be right behind you,” Jaxon murmured, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. Isla gave him a small smile before heading toward the entrance.Ray hopped out of the car, leaning casually against it with his head peeking from the other side.“Great work today, guys,” Jaxon said with a grin. Both men nodded in acknowledgment.“And great makeup,” Ray quipped, his eyes twinkling mischievously. The group erupted into laughter.“It’s not that bad, right, Alex?” Jaxon turned to Alex, expecting backup.Alex let out a scoff. “You want the truth?”“Of course.”“It’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever done. As Isla lay silently in the cage, exhaustion and thirst weighing her down, the sudden sound of keys jingling against metal snapped her out of her haze. The cell gate creaked open. Her heart pounded violently in her chest, dreading what was coming next. Before she could react, rough hands clamped around her ankles and yanked her forward.“Aghhh!” she cried out as her skin scraped against the cold, hard floor, sharp stinging cuts forming along her arms and legs.“Shut the fuck up, woman!” Bianchi snapped, irritation lacing his voice. A trail of smoke curled from the cigarette hanging at the corner of his lips. “Tie her to the chair,” he ordered. His men wasted no time. They grabbed her, forcing her onto a chair as she thrashed against their grip. A thick, coarse rope was wound tightly around her, pinning her arms to her sides. Blood trickled from the fresh cuts on her skin, staining her already filthy blue shirt.“Let me go!” she screamed, but Bianchi only chuckled, shaking his head.“N

"Jeremy wants a divorce." Ivy's voice was steady, but the weight of her words filled the room. She sank into the chair beside her mother’s bed, exhaustion lining her face. They had just returned from the hospital—Mrs. Bennett needed to rest before her next chemo cycle."What?!" Mrs. Bennett’s voice came out weak, yet the shock was evident in her expression.Ivy simply shrugged. "It’s Isla. Again," she muttered, and the confusion on her mother’s face deepened."What do you mean? What does Isla have to do with this?"Ivy scoffed. "If they hadn’t seen each other the day before, divorce wouldn’t even be on Jeremy’s mind. He claims they’re still in love, and apparently, she feels the same."Mrs. Bennett shook her head in disbelief. "That’s impossible. It doesn’t add up. Jeremy sped off in his car, heading to work. His eyes flickered to his phone screen once more, hoping for a message from Isla, but nothing.‘Did she know he was in the mafia before?’ The thought gnawed at him. He shook his head, refocusing on the road. He remembered clearly how much Isla despised the mafia when they were together. She never held back her disgust, always speaking about them with pure contempt. He had often wondered why, but she never gave him an answer. Sure, everyone knew the mafia was powerful, ruthless, and knee-deep in illegal business, but Isla’s hatred ran deeper. It was personal. And he knew that.‘There’s no way she knew and still got with him. He must’ve hidden it from her. But... why hasn’t she responded after reading the message?’ His jaw clenched as he tilted his head in thought. As he approached the turn under a bridge, he made the sharp curve, and caught sight of a car sticking unnervingly close behind him. His brows furrowed. Checking the rearview mirror
