Mrs Bennett, with a wide smile, walked into the room where Ivy and her friends were. She was putting on her wedding dress.

“How are we looking?” Mrs Bennett asked them as she moved closer to where Ivy stood in front of the mirror.

“She’s almost ready to walk down the aisle.” Her over-enthusiastic friend responded as she ran the makeup brush through her face. “Just some finishing touches.”

Mrs Bennett nodded as she stared at Ivy’s face. She noticed the sad expression Ivy was trying to mask with her faint smile. Mrs Bennett turned to look at her friends.

“Can you please give us a minute?” She asked them and they nodded, making their way out of the room. As soon as they were out, Mrs Bennett shut and locked the door behind them.

“What is going on, Ivy?” She asked, Ivy lifted the skirt of her dress and slowly turned to look at her mother.

“Mother, you know what is wrong.” She answered in a low tone, almost as if she was weak. “Jeremy doesn’t want this.”

But time dragged on, and they were nowhere in sight. ‘What on earth is going on?’ she wondered, reaching for her phone to call Jeremy and find out why he hadn’t arrived yet.She dialed his number, tapping her foot impatiently as the call rang. But it just kept ringing…and ringing…until it finally disconnected.Just then, the priest leading the ceremony stepped out of the hall and spotted her.“Mrs. Bennett, what’s going on? The groom’s car broke down on the way, but the bride should be here any moment now.”Father Abraham gave a small nod. “Alright.” Without another word, he turned and made his wa

By the time Jaxon and Isla returned home that evening, it was already late. Mrs. Bennett had persuaded them to stay for dinner at her house, and they had happily agreed.Ray pulled into the driveway, bringing the car to a stop in front of Jaxon’s sprawling mansion. As usual, Alex was the first to step out, moving swiftly to open the door for Jaxon and Isla.“Go inside, baby. I’ll be right behind you,” Jaxon murmured, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. Isla gave him a small smile before heading toward the entrance.Ray hopped out of the car, leaning casually against it with his head peeking from the other side.“Great work today, guys,” Jaxon said with a grin. Both men nodded in acknowledgment.“And great makeup,” Ray quipped, his eyes twinkling mischievously. The group erupted into laughter.“It’s not that bad, right, Alex?” Jaxon turned to Alex, expecting backup.Alex let out a scoff. “You want the truth?”“Of course.”“It’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever done. I want to use my tongue this night.” He said and he didn’t give roam for her to catch her breath before he buried his face in her spot. His tongue worked tirelessly to hit every wet corner. “Ahh… Jaxon” Isla moaned a little louder, grabbing his hair and pulling on it softly. He opened his mouth wide, eating her like it was his favorite candy. Her hips kept rising off the bed as a response to the intense pleasure she was feeling. All of a sudden, he moved his mouth from her core and moved up to kiss her. Their mouths met again and Isla could taste herself in his mouth. While their kis

"You should at least consider it," Alex said, settling into the chair across from Jaxon’s desk. Jaxon sat behind it, his glasses resting on his nose as he stared at his open PC."You’re the perfect fit for this. Even Carveli thinks so. What’s holding you back?" Alex pressed.Jaxon exhaled heavily. "It’s not that simple, Alex. Taking charge of the family means spending even more time away from home." His voice carried a weight of concern.Alex frowned. "Since when has that ever been an issue for you?"Jaxon leaned forward, his expression serious. "I’ve got someone in my life now. If I start disappearing every night, she’ll know something’s off."Alex let out a sigh. "But she doesn’t live with you yet, does she? It’s not like she’ll notice right away. Just tell her you’re working on a new business venture—it’s not even a lie, technically."Jaxon shrugged. "That’s the problem. I don’t want to lie to her. Not even by omission."Alex didn’t miss a beat. "It’s not lying," he argued. "You’re

Michael lounged in his living room, drowning in boredom despite the hum of the television. Restless, he grabbed his phone and scrolled through his chat with Alex for the fifth time. The urge to call him was almost unbearable, but he knew Alex would be at work, probably too busy to talk. And going out to have fun? That would only burn a deeper hole in his wallet.“I need another job. I can’t just sit around all day like this,” he muttered, shaking his head in frustration. But the thought of working another random gig made his skin crawl. He was done with odd jobs. He wanted stability—an actual corporate job that wouldn’t drain him the way his last one did.He had a degree in business administration, always dreaming of an office job, not shifts at bars or restaurants. Yet, despite his good grades, finding a decent-paying white-collar job had been nothing short of impossible.“Maybe I should just talk to Alex… see if he can help,” he thought, his thumb hovering over his phone screen as h

His jaw clenched as he looked up at Ivy, who was now holding the keys up high, dangling them in the air.“You’re not leaving until we talk, Jeremy,” she said firmly, her hand closed tightly around the keys.“I don’t have anything to say to you. While Jaxon’s men spread out to search for Isla, he sat in one of the parked vehicles, Ray behind the wheel, and Alex in the passenger seat beside him.“This is mad,” Ray muttered, shaking his head as he drove. “Who in their right mind would kidnap Isla?”Alex frowned, equally confused. “Seriously. It makes no sense. Why Isla?” he asked, twisting in his seat to glance at Jaxon, who sat silently in the back, in the owner’s spot.Jaxon’s gaze was hard, distant. He shook his head slowly. “This is deeper than it looks. Whoever did this… they know me. Isla doesn’t have enemies like that. This isn’t about her. it’s about me. This is on me,” he said quietly, brows furrowed with guilt.Ray glanced at him through the rearview mirror, skeptical. “Isn’t that a bit of a stretch?” he asked. “Who would even dare come after you? This kind of thing doesn’t happen to you, because no one’s ever had the guts.”Before Jaxon could respond, his phone chimed with a notification.“That’s facts,” Alex added,

Austin lay in the hospital bed, his mangled hand swaddled in thick bandages. Beside him, Dustin sat silently, his eyes filled with pity and disbelief.“I still don’t get it, man,” Dustin said, shaking his head. “You lost your hand… because of Isla? That don’t make sense. She wasn’t even in town when this all went down.”“You don’t have to get it,” Austin murmured, his voice hoarse and weak as he stared at the remains of his hand. “I did this for her. When she sees what I gave up… she’ll know I love her. She’ll know I’d never put her in harm’s way like Jaxon did.”Dustin exhaled sharply, frustration bubbling up. “Are you hearing yourself right now? You nearly died, Austin! If I hadn’t come when you called, you would’ve bled out on that damn floor. And now you’re feeding me this half-ass explanation? As Isla lay silently in the cage, exhaustion and thirst weighing her down, the sudden sound of keys jingling against metal snapped her out of her haze. The cell gate creaked open. Her heart pounded violently in her chest, dreading what was coming next. Before she could react, rough hands clamped around her ankles and yanked her forward.“Aghhh!” she cried out as her skin scraped against the cold, hard floor, sharp stinging cuts forming along her arms and legs.“Shut the fuck up, woman!” Bianchi snapped, irritation lacing his voice. A trail of smoke curled from the cigarette hanging at the corner of his lips. “Tie her to the chair,” he ordered. His men wasted no time. They grabbed her, forcing her onto a chair as she thrashed against their grip. A thick, coarse rope was wound tightly around her, pinning her arms to her sides. Blood trickled from the fresh cuts on her skin, staining her already filthy blue shirt.“Let me go!” she screamed, but Bianchi only chuckled, shaking his head.“N
