"So I was wondering, babe …” Steve began, but then paused. He had come to pick up his sister's kid from school and ran into Ava there.

“Yes? What were you wondering?” Ava prodded, giving him her attention.

“How would you feel about spending the night at my place? I mean, I understand if you’d rather not and …” He trailed off, his cheeks becoming a faint pink.

“I would absolutely love that, but today can't work because I didn’t inform Harper’s nanny beforehand and my maid is off duty today. I’ll see if I can get the nanny to come this evening, but if she can't, then it will have to be tomorrow or next.” She replied.
