I don't know how long my mother held me but she seemingly restored a part of me that had been broken since I was a pup. I knew I would never be able to forget what she did and what she didn't do but I did forgive her. Out of all my family she was the one who never abused me but it didn't mean her actions hurt any less.

My mother pulled me back and looked at me, memorising every crease on my face. It was like she was trying to capture the moment in her mind so she could never forget it. It was a monumental moment for us, I forgave a part of my family. For me, my mother was the only one in my family who had reacted like a parent. Whereas my father was another story, I don't think I could bring myself to forgive him, it's not like he was sorry anyway.

My mother let out a huge sigh and her eyes were twinkling with a happiness I hadn't seen in years. I looked at her and gave her a small smile in return. Both of our eyes were red rimmed from crying, our cheeks were wet from the tears.

“My dear fellow wolves, I am not insisting you to join the pack. I don’t want to rob your freedom,” I said to my ministers as well as the group's leader. I asked Yuhan to let them come here and that we will be having a meeting. “Lady, we have lived our lives as rogues. We loved the freedom but we can’t travel outside the East just like the other group with packs. We are not against your decision to join your son’s future pack. We're ready. The moment our King told us that someone might free us from being rogue, that was you,” Harry, the oldest Minister, told me. “If we become pack, we will become under the Elders. We need to follow their rules and-”“Lady, as we said. We are ready. Whatever your decision, we are ready to follow.”And with that, I requested Cyan to process the papers to the Elders. I instructed some of the leaders to prepare some houses for our new members. The Greyhound pack would no longer exist and it’ll be the Lapis Lazuli Pack now. And the new location Would be

“You came all the way here just to tell me about Rhyne?” I asked the teen in disbelief. “Yes,” he said. “He wanted me to pass you a message,” he added. “Alright. Let’s get in the car. We’ll talk about that inside my pack house,” I said and turned my back to him. “Follow me.” The teen had followed me. I knew it because I heard his footsteps following me. “Hop on the passenger seat,” I said. I didn’t hear a word nor the sound of him moving so I turned around just in time when a huge rock slapped my head. The impact made me dizzy and made me out of balance. My head was aching. In my blurry vision, I saw another man behind the teen. No, it was not just another man but my father. I saw him holding a syringe and pierce it in my leg. “What the-” “Tell Tyga I deliver him the bitch. Tell him I wanted the money,” father said. As I struggled to fight my dizziness, I was able to elongate my claws and write something on my car. And with that, I collapsed. I didn’t know

“Shh,” Letisha whispered when we heard a snapping of twigs. “I’m going out. Do not follow me. Stay here,” she added as she stood up and walked towards the entrance of her cave. “What do you want, Anton?” I’m tired. I want to sleep.” “Oh sorry but I just want to ask if you saw a woman and a boy?”“A woman and boy? This is a dangerous forest Anton, will such people be able to survive here? Nah. And why are you looking for them?”“Ahmm. M-my client was looking for them. They were his family,” he said. “Ugh whatever. I saw nothing as such. Go away. I want to sleep. Try to ask another burrow of lone cats.”“Okay. Sorry.”The man named Anton walked away as his scent fainted. “See? I told you, they were looking for you. Better we leave early in the morning.”“Ugh, do cat’s answer to the wolves now?” I asked her.“Well, money is tight here, girly. Money is everything,” she replied. The next morning, we started our trip. We were on full alert. Anything that caused any slightest sound, Leti

  • The Broken Luna   Chapter 96: Confrontation 1

It was crazy to us how they threw us in here and left, just straight up left. In a cold cell with no windows, no mirror, no nothing. Absolute hell on earth and we couldn't stay here for much longer. Having no idea how much time had passed really messed with you, I felt insane. It was ridiculous that I'd been captured, it had been a part of my own mantra to make sure I'd never get in a situation like this again and now look at me, pathetic. Letisha was silent too. Right now she sat buried in the corner in the fears of the male werewolves smelling her.A sound in the distance made me aware of the situation. Standing up to my full height, refusing to show them how drained I actually was, I placed my chin in the air. Two guards came around the corner and looked at me through the bars, their sickly smiles so disgusting I almost gagged. They needed me for something, no doubt about it, no one had sought me out during my time here, so this was definitely new."Hey girlie, are you ready?" The

“You bet,” I told him. Moon Goddess has her way to show that your once neglected child was the one who’s reigning the top," I added, smirking at him. “You think I would be forever living under your shadow? No. You are the worst! I wished you were never my father!”“And I wished you were not my daughter. And I wished everything you have should be Anne’s.” He answered, hitting me right through my core. I was hurt. But I didn't show it. I wouldn’t want the monster to feel happy while I was pained. “Really? Did you ever think about what Anne really wanted? Or that she felt suffocation under your wing?” Daniel’s face twisted. “No! Anne would never do that! I mould her into a fine she-wolf and she could be the best Luna than you,” he hissed. I chuckled. “You are a delusional, father. You are pathetic. I’m calling Elder Reese again to judge you. If I were to choose, I would have thrown you out of the pack. But since you are a pack member, I’ll let him judge you,” I said and left him ins

My mother was once a woman who was envied by those in the Redbridge pack. She was tall and slim, with an elegance about her. She would sashay through the pack lands with her head held high, for she was an ordinary wolf who was paired with a Beta. She was once a simple and kind woman who was friendly with everyone she came across, people would often say that she had the biggest heart. When mom got pregnant she was delighted and thrilled, she was excited that the Goddess had blessed her with two children. When she went to the scans she was told that she would have a boy and a girl. She was so excited, her mate caressed her stomach with a loving touch that women were envious of their relationship. When Mom gave birth, there were complications which resulted in her having a C-section. Mom was in a life or death situation, there was so much blood loss that they didn't know if she was going to make it. The doctors had made the decision to remove her womb after they safely delivered the tw

I let Mom and Anne catched up with each other. As for my father, I finally found peace and decided to start over. I couldn't believe it when he said I was supposed to be a son and a daughter. He was a freaking stupid. Even a female could become a Beta. And then there was Letisha who was hiding behind Cyan. I didn’t know that she was Cyan’s long awaited mate. Well, the ladder was so protective that he never left her side. And then there’s Warren who also became attached to my son. With stress that filled within me, I decided to take a run. It has been raining non-stop and the scent of wet rain forest lures me to shift and feel the wetness of the land beneath my paws. I shifted and ran, never minding the rain. I ran and ran until I got tired and decided to shift back and change clothes when I found a pile of clothes and a jacket in some hole in the trees. When I finished changing, the rain started to become hard to almost zero visibility. I trudged through the thick forest. The heav

Five years later…"Mom, please don't feed Zero so much candy, you're not the one tucking him in tonight." I told my mom in a plea, she was feeding my youngest with candy all day long and I couldn't deal with one and yet almost like three fits tonight when Zero doesn’t sleep. My mom looked sheepishly."Sorry honey, you know it comes from a place of love." She left Zero's room, leaving me in here with my son who was all dirty with chocolate. Zero was still five but he was too tall for his age. Chea was already thirteen and Eion already in his age of studying to take over the throne. "Chea, sweetheart, can you please clean Zero’s face? I’ll go and get your dad, dinner's almost ready and I need to supervise the setting of the table before the guests arrive." "Sure thing mom,” she answered as she grabbed some wipes and cleaned her brother’s hands and mouth, leaving Zero’s room as cheerful as always.“I’m going to look after Zero, Mom,” Eion said as he entered Zero's room. He swept his

My sweaty hands clenched and unclenched repeatedly, while my hammering heart was threatening to burst through my chest. Fleetingly, I looked around behind the trees, observing the entire werewolf community observing how Oishin was standing beside Yuhan and waiting for me. We were going to complete the coronation together and to become proclaimed as the King and Queen of Wolves."You're nervous, Aine. Breathe, please." Anne said with a small laugh, she was hiding with me. She and Mom helped me get ready, my curls were cascading down my back in waves and the light makeup helped in hiding my heated cheeks. The dress was my favorite part of the outfit though, it had to flash purity and be a little fluffy. I chose a white dress, and slightly conservative style, something you can see royals wearing giving me a natural, but elegant vibe.Feeling an intense gaze hitting me, I searched the crowd of werewolves and found my children looking at me. Eion, as the heir and the first prince, was we

  • The Broken Luna   Chapter 114: Just Us

Sitting in the darkness of my room, I looked out of the window while I was sitting on a rocking chair gazing at the castle nearby under the light of the moon. It was crazy to think that I'd be living there in a few days. My life was a roller coaster. There were ups and downs to almost making me lose hope of becoming happy again. After many trials thrown on me, I survived it all. I gave up my pride, just to be with the person who was all my first. The person I never expected to be my soon-to-be husband, the king. Today had been incredible, the chatter in the living room never died down and I'd laughed more than I had. Anne was alive and I couldn’t ask for more. Finally, Tempest was a safe place now for both wolves, in packs or prefered to be alone. A knock on my door shook me out of reminiscing, as I walked towards it I tried not to fall. It was so dark in here and some of my clothes were still on the floor from when I changed into my dress to my pregnancy nighties. Mustering up th

“Yes! Yes! I’ll marry you,” I said with tears in my eyes. I have been waiting for this my whole life. Oishin was smiling. He took the ring, a white gold ring laced with small blue diamond and at the centre was a white square shaped with Diamond. It looked like his family heirloom but it was slightly modified. He then inserted it in my ring finger.“I’m glad I finally replaced the ring I gave you years ago. And I’m sorry it took me so long,” he said. “Silly,” I said. “I don’t care what kind of ring you would have given me as long as there’s you and me,” I replied as I watched the ring. “Soon when Eion is old enough to marry his mate, I’ll pass this ring down to him as our family heirloom.”“Whatever you want, baby,” Oishin replied and kissed me on my head. After the night Oishin proposed to me, we decided to honor every wolf who fought against the Elders before the preparations of our wedding and the handing down of the castle to him. East Wolves were actually the descendants of the

According to Charlotte, Higan started her mission to restore the kingdom. It wasn’t even a month when she mysteriously appeared with Charlotte. And since that day, conflict between Elders and the Alphas started to become apparent. Everyone wanted to proclaim Oishin as the rightful king but the Elders denied it. Wars from every part of Tempest ignited between those against the councils and against the establishment of the old Monarchy. When Higan threatened the Elders with what she collected to Ezekiel, that was the last straw before the Elders fully gave up their position. Whatever the masked woman did, it's anybody's guess. According to Charlotte, Higan or the mask woman was someone who had been bringing justice to the werewolves. She also had been betrayed and when I asked Charlotte about it, she would only smile and said Higan doesn’t want to talk about her past life. “Penny for your thoughts?” Oishin said, placing an arm across my waist, holding me .I glazed sideways at him

  • The Broken Luna   Chapter 111: True Royal

I shifted mid-air as I was running towards my mate. Everyone must have seen the panic and impatience, almost desperation in my face as I was struggling to run towards him. It didn’t bother me even if some wolves were snapping towards me. My action was enough to tell them how much I loved my mate.Ezekiel kicked Oishin’s wolf and laughed. “Let her be. Let her reunite with his dying mate,” he said, laughing.I invested so many years in my life hating my mate, I wouldn’t let him go, heck.let alone him die. I need him. My children needed him. I want us as a whole family. And now my mate's in danger.I shifted back to my human form and lifted Oishin’s head. My eyes immediately went to Oishin, to check his pulse and breathe. His wounds were still bleeding and it hadn't healed much, making me worry."Shin..." I whispered, my eyes already filling with tears as with shaky hands, I started checking his pulse. I tried it on his wrist and when I felt nothing, I panicked even more. My heartbeat

  • The Broken Luna   Chapter 110: Saving Aine

Aine’s Point of ViewA hand on the shoulder that's exactly from where everything starts. Like in a horror movie, a murder story, but apparently, and rather ironically, I felt like it was where my life would start to end.I couldn't see my face but I am quite certain that all the blood would have drained from there. All sorts of negative thoughts came into my mind. This was too good to be true. I should have known. But then I reminded myself of the promise I had made to myself and I told my heart that I would not drain my energy by worrying. Instead, I'll drain it all out in fighting.Fight for myself. Not for anyone else this time. It's just me now, the real fight for my life. Taking a deep breath, I curled my fists, ready to attack as I turned around to see the very flustered face of our very own Patricia and a woman beside her wearing a face mask. Only her eyes were visible, an eyes that I never expected to witness. Her right eye was turquoise blue. It was glowing even though I kn

(Spit POV’s)Aine’s Point of ViewWhen I first met Oishin as a mate, I was so happy, I felt like my fairytale had finally come to a beautiful end. But I was so wrong.I was so wrong because I didn't realise that it wasn't the end of a beautiful fairy tale, but the beginning of a harsh reality. He cheated on me.And then there was Tyga, I thought he was perfect but then I was wrong. He was a wolf in sheep’s clothing. And my reality became harsher than it could be. Fate must have been fun playing on me. Maybe it was because of the fact that I survived despite what fate threw at me and that I refused to give up and became mindless feral.Way back when I was younger, I have always wished for a knight in shining armour, the one that’ll be able to save me. To me, all mates were like everyone, sweet and loving. Yeah I used to believe that when I was a kid. But then life happened and the truth slapped me in the face so hard that I couldn't get back up. I kept falling. I fell, again, hoping

Tyga didn't let me finish my sentence and grabbed my jaw, again. His eyes burning with craze and determination. "I'm not listening to your bullshit, I will never believe you since Victor succeeded in transferring you the leadership! This has cleared all doubts. If he can, then you can! Pass it to me and I will set you free. Think about it. No pain. No struggles.”One thing that I understood from what he said was that he was lying. This bastard was one hell of a liar. I was starting to think that fate was dysfunctional since they gave me this idiot mate. Thankfully Anne interfered and I got back with Oishin. I laughed so hard that I clenched my stomach and his face turned a deep shade of red in humiliation.“Don’t you ever understand the word fuck off and no?”Tyga lifted his fist in the air and punched me in the face making my jaw snap and my cheeks rammed into my teeth, making them bleed.Fuck!I cupped my cheek and spit out the blood. My jaw and cheeks throbbed in pain and my head
