My parents stood in front of me, their faces held nothing but shock and surprise at my haughty demeanour. I mean, did they really expect me to pull them into my arms and cry? Could they not comprehend that I wasn't the same girl I was years ago? Many years is a long time for things to change. The last time they saw me, I was twenty-three, pregnant and with a two years old son and no place to go.. I was broken and shattered and in need of someone who could understand her.

Now I was a woman who was confident, powerful in her own right, independent who needed no man to lean on for support. There was nothing left of the girl who hid in the shadows. I was now the star that shined in the sky. I glimmered through the adversity that my family and pack had caused me. They couldn't even reach me, I was so high up. A part of me hated them for what they did, but if they hadn't pushed me to leave, I would have never become who I am today.

"Aine it's really you." My mother whimpered. The tears casc

Lesly stood there, nothing but shock covered her face. There she stood behind the problem china and the clattered tray across the floor. It had been years since I had laid eyes on her. All my years I lived with Oishin, she was there to insult me, to degrade me and say hurtful words for me. She was always an attention seeker and the victim. She loved attention more than anything. I envied her. She was so beautiful back then. As I looked at her now, she looked different, she looked worn out. Her skin that was once bright and clear was now riddled with dirt and small scars across her face. Her body was no longer fit and slender but she looked weak and brittle. The once confident stance she took was now timid with her shoulders slumped. Her light blue eyes which she inherited from her mother were dark and a deeper shade of blue. They were hidden behind large dark circles and small crows stretched out of the corner of her eyes. When I look at her, I no longer see the perfect daughter, th

"Why are you still here, Lesly? Shouldn’t you be kicked out from the pack?" I questioned. “Where is the male wolf you have been boasting around before?”"He doesn't want me." She spat. "You took him away from me!." She said as she started biting her nails with an angry look on her face. "It was Tyga, you whore. You took him away from me!”“I didn’t take him away, Lesly. He was my twin sister’s mate and unfortunately, he was also my second chance mate. To make the long story short, he didn’t see me as me but as my sister. Hah! I bet if you tried to seduce him, it'd be futile. No offence,” I said and then looked at her. “You’re ugly now. He won’t like you.” "He would have if you didn’t appeared! It’s all your fault! It’s all your fault!” It's then that she halted in her steps and turned to face me. There was an evil glint to her eyes as a smirk formed on her lips. Before I could blink, she leaped into the air. She crashed into my direction. Her arms stretched and sought my neck. Her n

I had just been released from the pack hospital and Benji and Eion were escorting me to my room. It's amazing that I had been here for just over a week and I hadn't even had the chance to stay in a normal bedroom. I shook my head. Okay, I can ignore everyone else for Eion’s sake. I can help this pack improve again as long as I know who Lesly sold the companies I used to manage. I love my son so much and I’m willing to let the past go and forgive. That’s it. For my son’s sake. "You're staying in a room next to Alpha Oishin." Cyan sighed. My shoulders hitch at the information that I would be in close proximity to my mate. I didn’t like the idea of where I would be staying. “It’s just the best room for now, Aine,” Cyan said. I huff in response and follow him to my chambers. He opens the door and the room is very nice, it is white and clean, the design is simplistic and has the necessities that will make my short stay suffice. I sighed and chucked myself onto the bed, the sheets are

  • The Broken Luna   Chapter 82: Blood for Blood

When I reached the prison I immediately saw red as a large brown wolf biting my son's leg as he was screaming for help. And before I knew it, my wolf took over and attacked the large brown wolf. We want vengeance. Despite being smaller in size, my wolf jumped into the large wolf and clawed its face to free my son. Blood gushed from the brown wolf’s face and it let go of my son. I gently bit my son’s neck and gently carried him to Benji who was there and was shocked. I barked at him but Oishin, who arrived in his wolf form, shifted and carried our son to the clinic. And when I faced the brown wolf, all hell broke loose. There’s no way I’m letting this wolf live for another day. I may be smaller but I was trained by the East kingdom's finest warrior, Yuhan. I attack the brown wolf. My wolf was under a lot of stress and her motherly instinct kicked in, a deadly combination for a death-seeking mother wolf. The brown wolf obviously didn’t know how to fight. I whine whenever I bite or cl

“If you allow me,” Jackson said. “I will be forever indebted to you.”I smiled at him. Someone’s wanting to kill those bastards and I don’t have to worry about my hand having a blood stain. “That’s great, Jack. Then I’ll tip you once those pests leave this pack.”I didn’t know how long I sat by the empty river with Jackson planning everything about the murder. Oh, how long did I wish to have my revenge… it was so long…Both of us were cut from the same cloth, both of us betrayed by mates and their family who did not see us worthy of anything. I don't even know how Jackson managed to sneak on pack lands but I didn't hate it. He was the Key to put my long-postponed plan. I could see that this man used to be a good man. Villains were not born, they were made. And this was exactly what I was seeing in his dead eyes. He was a good guy and he was unlucky to be paired by a woman like Lesly. Oishin’s family had not only ruined my life but they had ruined the life of this man and killed an

It was a new day in a place that I no longer belonged to, last night's happenings stirred something in me that I couldn’t longer cage back. It snapped and I couldn’t hold it back together. My wolf’s wanting to have her revenge slowly eating me alive. She wanted nothing but to kill everyone who made her drown in pain. “I did it. I threw my parents out. Are you happy now?” Oishin said and I stepped out of my room early in the morning. “Really?” I said, smirking. “Good. Good.”“What next? Who else do you want to throw away?” “If I say you. Would you exit this pack and leave everything to me?”Shocked was all over his face.“Aine I…”“Then fucking shut up! And stay away from me. Everytime I look at you or even smell your scent, it makes me feel nauseous. I hate you and get lost if you don’t want me to reject you,” I threaten him. Oishin lowered his head and walked away from me. Few minutes later, Benji walked towards me. “You call for me?” “Yes. I’d like you to handle the companies

“The truth was I’m not John’s Mate,” she confessed. “I have a twin sister names Carmela. S-she’s J-Jons’ true mate. I envied her so much because I saw how John loved her and showered her with everything while I got nothing,” she added. Camilla was still crying. Probably she knew what what will happen and she decided to confessed. “I met my mate. He was a rogue and an omega. I don’t like him. I never wanted him. I wanted to have someone like John. So I made a plan. I sought the most powerful witch and made a deal with her. She gave me a two potions.”“Two potions?”“A potion to break a bond and a potion to establish a fake bond,” she replied. “The most strongest one,” she added. “I made Carmela drank it. And since we were so identical, I lured John to drink the other one. When the potions took effect, John rejected Carmela when thier bond was broken. Instead Jonh took me as his mate leaving my twin sister devastated.”“You’re a bitch you know that? You’re like Lesly.”Camilla smiled

  • The Broken Luna   Chapter 86: Man up

After speaking with my wolf, my thoughts were running wild. I could sense that she was impartial to Oishin. I could feel her desperation as much as she tried to hide it. I knew it wasn't solely her fault. It was how she was designed to be. She was built to be loyal to the person she was mated to and furious at the same time because he broke her heart. The bond that ties them couldn't be broken because there was never a rejection. I accepted her nature but there was no way I could accept Oishin that easily as he continues to run this pack into the ground. I understand she was tricked by his fake mother for power and that he was used. It was shameful how he was defending them. If this pack was ever to become what it once was he would have to strip down his pride and ego and accept the truth. After my run in wolf form I went in search for the Alpha of Mistakes. I shook my head and heavily sighed as I entered the pack house and located his office. I took a breath and inhaled deeply fo

  • The Broken Luna   Epilogue

Five years later…"Mom, please don't feed Zero so much candy, you're not the one tucking him in tonight." I told my mom in a plea, she was feeding my youngest with candy all day long and I couldn't deal with one and yet almost like three fits tonight when Zero doesn’t sleep. My mom looked sheepishly."Sorry honey, you know it comes from a place of love." She left Zero's room, leaving me in here with my son who was all dirty with chocolate. Zero was still five but he was too tall for his age. Chea was already thirteen and Eion already in his age of studying to take over the throne. "Chea, sweetheart, can you please clean Zero’s face? I’ll go and get your dad, dinner's almost ready and I need to supervise the setting of the table before the guests arrive." "Sure thing mom,” she answered as she grabbed some wipes and cleaned her brother’s hands and mouth, leaving Zero’s room as cheerful as always.“I’m going to look after Zero, Mom,” Eion said as he entered Zero's room. He swept his

My sweaty hands clenched and unclenched repeatedly, while my hammering heart was threatening to burst through my chest. Fleetingly, I looked around behind the trees, observing the entire werewolf community observing how Oishin was standing beside Yuhan and waiting for me. We were going to complete the coronation together and to become proclaimed as the King and Queen of Wolves."You're nervous, Aine. Breathe, please." Anne said with a small laugh, she was hiding with me. She and Mom helped me get ready, my curls were cascading down my back in waves and the light makeup helped in hiding my heated cheeks. The dress was my favorite part of the outfit though, it had to flash purity and be a little fluffy. I chose a white dress, and slightly conservative style, something you can see royals wearing giving me a natural, but elegant vibe.Feeling an intense gaze hitting me, I searched the crowd of werewolves and found my children looking at me. Eion, as the heir and the first prince, was we

  • The Broken Luna   Chapter 114: Just Us

Sitting in the darkness of my room, I looked out of the window while I was sitting on a rocking chair gazing at the castle nearby under the light of the moon. It was crazy to think that I'd be living there in a few days. My life was a roller coaster. There were ups and downs to almost making me lose hope of becoming happy again. After many trials thrown on me, I survived it all. I gave up my pride, just to be with the person who was all my first. The person I never expected to be my soon-to-be husband, the king. Today had been incredible, the chatter in the living room never died down and I'd laughed more than I had. Anne was alive and I couldn’t ask for more. Finally, Tempest was a safe place now for both wolves, in packs or prefered to be alone. A knock on my door shook me out of reminiscing, as I walked towards it I tried not to fall. It was so dark in here and some of my clothes were still on the floor from when I changed into my dress to my pregnancy nighties. Mustering up th

  • The Broken Luna   Chapter 113: Reunited

“Yes! Yes! I’ll marry you,” I said with tears in my eyes. I have been waiting for this my whole life. Oishin was smiling. He took the ring, a white gold ring laced with small blue diamond and at the centre was a white square shaped with Diamond. It looked like his family heirloom but it was slightly modified. He then inserted it in my ring finger.“I’m glad I finally replaced the ring I gave you years ago. And I’m sorry it took me so long,” he said. “Silly,” I said. “I don’t care what kind of ring you would have given me as long as there’s you and me,” I replied as I watched the ring. “Soon when Eion is old enough to marry his mate, I’ll pass this ring down to him as our family heirloom.”“Whatever you want, baby,” Oishin replied and kissed me on my head. After the night Oishin proposed to me, we decided to honor every wolf who fought against the Elders before the preparations of our wedding and the handing down of the castle to him. East Wolves were actually the descendants of the

  • The Broken Luna   Chapter 112: Will you marry me?

According to Charlotte, Higan started her mission to restore the kingdom. It wasn’t even a month when she mysteriously appeared with Charlotte. And since that day, conflict between Elders and the Alphas started to become apparent. Everyone wanted to proclaim Oishin as the rightful king but the Elders denied it. Wars from every part of Tempest ignited between those against the councils and against the establishment of the old Monarchy. When Higan threatened the Elders with what she collected to Ezekiel, that was the last straw before the Elders fully gave up their position. Whatever the masked woman did, it's anybody's guess. According to Charlotte, Higan or the mask woman was someone who had been bringing justice to the werewolves. She also had been betrayed and when I asked Charlotte about it, she would only smile and said Higan doesn’t want to talk about her past life. “Penny for your thoughts?” Oishin said, placing an arm across my waist, holding me .I glazed sideways at him

I shifted mid-air as I was running towards my mate. Everyone must have seen the panic and impatience, almost desperation in my face as I was struggling to run towards him. It didn’t bother me even if some wolves were snapping towards me. My action was enough to tell them how much I loved my mate.Ezekiel kicked Oishin’s wolf and laughed. “Let her be. Let her reunite with his dying mate,” he said, laughing.I invested so many years in my life hating my mate, I wouldn’t let him go, heck.let alone him die. I need him. My children needed him. I want us as a whole family. And now my mate's in danger.I shifted back to my human form and lifted Oishin’s head. My eyes immediately went to Oishin, to check his pulse and breathe. His wounds were still bleeding and it hadn't healed much, making me worry."Shin..." I whispered, my eyes already filling with tears as with shaky hands, I started checking his pulse. I tried it on his wrist and when I felt nothing, I panicked even more. My heartbeat

  • The Broken Luna   Chapter 110: Saving Aine

Aine’s Point of ViewA hand on the shoulder that's exactly from where everything starts. Like in a horror movie, a murder story, but apparently, and rather ironically, I felt like it was where my life would start to end.I couldn't see my face but I am quite certain that all the blood would have drained from there. All sorts of negative thoughts came into my mind. This was too good to be true. I should have known. But then I reminded myself of the promise I had made to myself and I told my heart that I would not drain my energy by worrying. Instead, I'll drain it all out in fighting.Fight for myself. Not for anyone else this time. It's just me now, the real fight for my life. Taking a deep breath, I curled my fists, ready to attack as I turned around to see the very flustered face of our very own Patricia and a woman beside her wearing a face mask. Only her eyes were visible, an eyes that I never expected to witness. Her right eye was turquoise blue. It was glowing even though I kn

(Spit POV’s)Aine’s Point of ViewWhen I first met Oishin as a mate, I was so happy, I felt like my fairytale had finally come to a beautiful end. But I was so wrong.I was so wrong because I didn't realise that it wasn't the end of a beautiful fairy tale, but the beginning of a harsh reality. He cheated on me.And then there was Tyga, I thought he was perfect but then I was wrong. He was a wolf in sheep’s clothing. And my reality became harsher than it could be. Fate must have been fun playing on me. Maybe it was because of the fact that I survived despite what fate threw at me and that I refused to give up and became mindless feral.Way back when I was younger, I have always wished for a knight in shining armour, the one that’ll be able to save me. To me, all mates were like everyone, sweet and loving. Yeah I used to believe that when I was a kid. But then life happened and the truth slapped me in the face so hard that I couldn't get back up. I kept falling. I fell, again, hoping

Tyga didn't let me finish my sentence and grabbed my jaw, again. His eyes burning with craze and determination. "I'm not listening to your bullshit, I will never believe you since Victor succeeded in transferring you the leadership! This has cleared all doubts. If he can, then you can! Pass it to me and I will set you free. Think about it. No pain. No struggles.”One thing that I understood from what he said was that he was lying. This bastard was one hell of a liar. I was starting to think that fate was dysfunctional since they gave me this idiot mate. Thankfully Anne interfered and I got back with Oishin. I laughed so hard that I clenched my stomach and his face turned a deep shade of red in humiliation.“Don’t you ever understand the word fuck off and no?”Tyga lifted his fist in the air and punched me in the face making my jaw snap and my cheeks rammed into my teeth, making them bleed.Fuck!I cupped my cheek and spit out the blood.
