“Aine? What the hell? Do you know what time it is?” A sleepy voice answered my call for the fifth time.
“Thank goodness, Lind, you answered my call,” I said, relieved. “What is it? You make it important because you disturb my sleep, girl,” Lindsay said. “Help me. Help me escape. My father and the Alpha arranged a mate for me. I don’t want him. Please help me.” I begged. “Oh…” she said, seeming not interested or trying to process what I said. “OHHH! Damn! That’s a messed up plan, Aine. Let me help you! Tell me what you want me to do,” she added when she finally got what I was trying to say. “Can I stay in your pack temporarily? I mean I’ll leave once I figure out what I am going to do with my life.” “Okay. Just tell me where I am going to pick you up. I already told you to leave your family and your stupid dad before, right? Now look what he did to you,” Lindsay said, scolding me. After I gave her the right address, she was still rumbling words I didn’t want to hear. She hated my father so much for being manipulative. I hit ignore for the sixth time on my phone since we left early this morning. Father and the Alpha obviously weren't getting the message that I didn’t want to talk to them right now. Lindsay fetched me up after I successfully dodge all the warriors patrolling in our perimeter. And now we’re travelling back to her pack. Again my phone rang making the seventh time they called me today. God just give up already! I want to be left alone. I wish I could scream that on my phone. Lindsay put on her signal and pulled into what looked like a newly built gas station on the side of the road. I don’t know who put a nice gas station like this out here in the middle of nowhere but oh well. “Just stop for some gas and to stretch our legs, don’t wander off too far though because we are leaving in exactly ten minutes,” she warned. “I won’t.” I said. I opened the back door and got out when my phone buzzed again. This time it wasn’t a call, it was a text. I groaned before making the decision to read it. “Why did you leave? Come back before you regret this, Aine”- Dad. “Come back. Don’t shame me, Aine. I’ll throw your parents out or send my wolves just to find you,”- Alpha Williams. “Ugh!” I screamed. “I don’t want to talk to you.” I looked up from my phone long enough to see an elderly couple looking at me disapprovingly. Well if they had a problem with it then they could leave. I had more important things to focus on then what they thought. Like Alpha Williams coming after me for example. But my decision stood up. I’m leaving the pack. Call me selfish but I’m not going to bow down to their order and let me live in regret with a man I never met and not my mate. “Let’s go, Aine.” I nodded my head, threw my phone and walked back over to her and got into the passenger seat. I buckled up and leaned back into the seat as we drove off. “We’re here,” Lindsay announced, stopping the car. I stared out the window at the amazing house in my view. It was so huge, three times bigger than my pack. It was a mesmerising view that screamed wealth with the view of a huge arched doorway and large glass windows on the side. There was a little landscaping done in front of the door which added to the beauty of it all. I unbuckled myself and grabbed my purse before stepping out of the car. I stared at the house in awe the whole way up to the door until I couldn’t see it anymore. “I already told Jeremy to arrange a room for you. I also notified my Alpha that a friend will be staying with us. He will decide if he’ll accept you in the pack,” she said. “But I’ll persuade him to accept you, of course,” Lindsay said, winking at She showed me to my room which happened to be on the top floor of the house. I was ok with that though because the top was always the best. It had the best view. My room was at the very end of the hall with only one other next to it, while Lindsay and her mate’s house was separated from the pack house. I was glad for it though because I’ll have my privacy. I opened the door to my room to go in, what I saw wasn’t what I was expecting. There on my bed was a guy and a girl almost having sex. I’m sure if I hadn’t walked in when I did that is exactly what would’ve happened. “Oh my god.” I screeched, causing the girl to jump off of the guy. I quickly covered my eyes and began to speak. “I’m so sorry I thought this was my room.” “Pick this up later?” The girl asked before lightly bumping into me as she left. “Jeremy? What are you doing?” I was shocked when I saw who the guy was. It’s Jeremy, Lindsay’s brother. “A-Aine?” He was shocked too. “Seriously, Jeremy? You’re doing this even during your Mom’s burial?” I heard a voice behind me. I turn around to the owner of the voice behind me. What happened then was not anything I was expecting. This was the last thing I thought would happen. As soon as our eyes locked we both whispered the same word. “Mate.” And suddenly, everything falls down to its rightful place. “Hi, beautiful, what’s your name?” The man snaked his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him. “I’m Aine. A-and you are?” “Oishin. I am your mate and the Alpha here,” he replied, flashing me a smile before capturing my lips with his. Explosions of tingles met my body. Whispers of sweet nothing echoed all over my body as if it assured me that I am safe with Oishin, my mate. My wolf howled with joy because finally she’s reunited with her pair. Running away was the best choice I made because if I didn’t, I wouldn’t have met my Oishin, my true mate.Oishin's Point of ViewAine was a wonderful mate. She helped me alot running the pack. She was one of the kind Luna that ordinary Alpha would have wanted. But not me. I’m no ordinary Alpha. I am to be the Alpha King who will rule the werewolf kingdom and every pack. Aine’s too ordinary. I can't have her as my Luna. I needed someone equal to me. I calmly glance at Cian in the passenger seat across from me.I had made sure not to turn on the radio, so there wouldn't be any distraction from the weight of my alpha waves bearing down on him. From the way his shoulders folded, I knew he was feeling the pressure of it. Cian knew everything and he’s a friend of Aine. He'd been talking to Aine. And I’m afraid he’ll tell her about her. "What did you say was wrong with your car again?" I directed him."The car's transmission is out," he answered dryly. "Had it for ages so it was about time it gave out. It couldn't have picked a better timing though." he ended sarcastically."Hmmm."He glanc
Aine's Point of ViewThe thing about fated mates is that it's like two sides of a coin. It has the ability to make you the happiest person alive, making you whole. But it also has the ability to ruin you, taking you under like an avalanche when you least expect it, snuffing out all of the light, crushing all the air out of your lungs and leaving you numb in complete darkness. For me, Oishin was my everything, he was the oxygen I breathed. I had devoted my entire life to being his person. Ever since that fateful day he'd tilted my world off its axis, when I'd felt my heart beating wildly and my wolf had gotten in a frenzy yelling mate. Because that's what mates were, and he was my soul mate. They were your person. It's someone who finally understands you, truly understands you and you find a small amount of relief in that. They understand all the parts when no one else does or couldn't. It's like you can finally breathe. They were your best friend, your other half. You don't have to
Her name was Caitlin. I was suddenly piecing it together however I still didn't understand. She was Alpha Caitlin from the neighbouring pack but I still couldn't make sense of what introduction they were talking about. Who was her mate? "Of course, you already know this is Oishin's fat help." "I'm Oishin’s mate, not the help." I corrected it. The man laughed dryly and looked at his sister in an I told you so way. Caitlin merely shrugged and smiled back at him. I could feel my cheeks heat up. "If you're his mate, then you haven't been doing a good job. He's been between my sisters' legs every chance he gets. He's practically fucked her everywhere on our pack grounds." At first I thought I didn't hear right. I could feel my insides clench and my breathing got heavy. This is when I started to fall apart, when my very world started to dissolve before my eyes. "That's a lie." He smiled menacingly and a shiver ran down my spine. "You're no longer his mate or Luna, Caitlin is, and th
(A few months before her Luna Proclamation. Note: Aine was clueless) Aine’s Point of View The sound of the rain thundering outside woke me up with a start. I shifted further against him and into the intense warmth his body provided until there wasn't any space left. We were pasted together with his hard profile against my back. His arm was slung around my waist, tethering me to him. This was everything. This was us. I reluctantly glanced at the window, where the bleary morning filtered through. It was way too early. No wonder it was freezing. The wind was whipping the rain against the windowpanes and I could see the tree branches swinging back and forth. I would have to do everything indoors today. It pricked up my hopes that he might stay here today. That we might have some time to ourselves. For the past couple of weeks, Oishin has been overseeing joining our pack, the Greyhound pack, with the Lunar pack. That said pack, like ours, was a traditional pack that had been around
I knew Oishin must have a valid reason and I trusted him wholeheartedly. He seemed to let out a breath he had been holding in and I settled back against him.We continued to talk about the upcoming moving and I told him about how I have been spending my days and the business I recently launched. I had also made sure to put in a lot of effort for their new homes and Caitlin’s. It was my duty and I wanted everyone to feel comfortable and accepted. I was expected to do a good job and to make a good impression. Sure, I was exhausted at the end of it all especially with a two-year-old but I made sure everything was right even down to the minor details, especially for their former alpha, Caitlin. I wanted to do my part well.He said nothing until I was finished, knowing he must be bored of my ramblings, though he seemed to be listening intently and soon we were wrapped in silence. I curled my body into his and enjoyed the heat radiating from him. He suddenly leaned forward and pressed a k
"This is what happens when you get trailer trash to do a respectable job. Mom would have been up way before this, at the crack of dawn, running everything in tip top shape and making sure everything was perfect,” Lesly said with a voice in annoyance.Eion perks up at the sound of his aunt's voice. Clayton glances at me as we're just standing in the hallway. He had slowed down beside me. I was bracing myself for it, shifting Eion from one arm to another.I was working as hard as I could, around the clock. I didn't know what else to do. I have been going to bed late and waking up early before Eion to complete my morning rounds after which I headed back for him most mornings when he woke up and checked my laptop for some emails. This morning was just an exception because of the rain and well... Oishin.Lesly has never liked me and she intended to make sure everyone else didn't as well. She ignores me when Oishin sn't around, like I was not worth looking at and when he was, just the bare,
It's been a day since my encounter with Lesly and things have gotten drastically worse. She was wreaking havoc in the packhouse. She has always gotten what she wants, no matter what and now she wasn't.I told her she couldn't see Eion anymore because I didn't feel comfortable leaving him in her care knowing the things she was saying to him about me. I was his mother and my trust in her had waned from the incident. Her very loud response before everyone in the main hall was: "It's better he knows his mother is an overweight trailer trash from now so he'll be immune to it when he gets older."I had enough. I tried to stand firm on it and I was honestly still upset that she thought it was okay to do that. He was so young and impressionable. It was beyond cruel to talk to a child like that about their parents. I couldn't or wouldn't let him endure that and I felt terrible for what had happened. He was my baby and I loved him more than anything. I had to protect him at all costs. I know h
Oishin’s Point Of View"Shin! Baby, I can't!" came out her choked muffled cries. "Please don't stop! Pleaaasssee! Ple-!"Caitlin’s words were cut short as I plunged into her. The scent of sex was heavy in the air as the bed creaked heavily under our weight. It was midafternoon and the sun was ready to set across the horizon. The last of its bright rays filtered and danced through the windows, scattering across our bodies and the gold coloured sheets on her bed. The entire pack territory was empty but we were giving it one last good parting gift. All that remained were the guards and the glittering lake reflecting the sky.Today was the last day. It had all come together beautifully and it was thanks to Caitlin. She has not only elevated my position among the wolves by joining our packs, but she will also do so by being my Luna.My pack will finally get the luna they deserve, one that represents and reflects them well; one they could be proud of.After this we'd be official, we'd be a
