Dylan's POV As soon as I pull away from the rundown hotel I knew that it was a mistake. Cora hasn't been herself since we left the Red Moon Pack. It is almost as if the bond between us is weakening. I want nothing more than to stay on the run to protect her from the fate that awaits her back at both the Red Moon and Moonshadow Packs. On the other hand, she is determined to run right back into the danger that is waiting for her. My wolf is angrily pacing in my mind, demanding that I return to the hotel to make sure that Cora is okay. Growling loudly, I flip a U-turn in the middle of the road. Cars dodge out of the way and lay on their horns as they try not to hit me. I am only a few minutes from the hotel but it feels like an eternity. I have a feeling that something terrible has happened to Cora. Reaching out through the mate bond, I try to get her attention but she doesn't answer. She has put up a barrier so I cannot contact her. She has never blocked me out before. Pressing
Thomas's POV Mia's heat lasted for a week. Her fever finally broke last night. She was insatiable during the week. At one point she was waking me all hours of the night for sex. Between spending days in the dungeon interrogating Alpha Richard and spending my evenings and nights with Mia I haven't gotten nearly enough sleep. I am settling in for a much-needed night of sleep when the phone begins to buzz on my nightstand. Mia groans loudly and pulls the blankets over her head, she is just as tired as I am. Grabbing a handful of her breast, I lean over her body to grab my phone. Mia squeals loudly and smacks my hand away. "Haven't you had enough?" She laughs. "Never," I whisper next to her ear before I look at the screen on my phone. A number that I do not recognize pops up and a low growl escapes from my chest. "What is it?" "It is me, Dylan. And I need a favor," Dylan's voice hesitates on the other end of the call. "Cora is in danger." Mia pops up in bed when she h
Mia's POV Nerves bubble in my stomach as we approach the pack house of the Paxton Pack. I know that Thomas and the Luna of this pack have a history together, I am just not sure how deep it goes. Thomas pulls our car alongside the pack house like has been here many times before. Glancing at him out of the corner of my eyes I see that he has a death grip on the steering wheel. His knuckles are white as he twists the leather of the wheel in his hands. Finally, he turns to me and tilts my head so I am staring into his eyes. "Nothing happened between Emma Paxton and me," he tells me. "I thought I was in love with her but now that I know you, I know that it was nothing more than infatuation." I look at him stunned. "Are you saying that you love me?" "I thought that how I feel about you would be obvious by now," Thomas says cryptically before he gets out of the car. Scrambling to get out of the car, I rush as quickly as my little legs will take me until I have caught up with Tho
Mia's POV "Cora," I say as I immediately crouch down on the ground and crawl over to where she is sitting. Placing my hand gently on her back, Cora startles and jumps away from me. "Go away," she cries. "I want my mate." I look back at Luna Emma, still standing in the doorway. I can see tears welling up in Emma's eyes as she looks in our direction. "I will leave you two alone," she says as she quietly backs out of the room and shuts the door behind her. Carefully, I place my hand on Cora's back again, and she finally razes her head to look at me. "Mia?" She says with a soft sob. "They told me you were coming for me, but I didn't believe them." "Of course, I came for you," I whisper as I sit on the floor beside her. "You saved my life from Donovan." Cora lays her head on my lap and cries. "I failed you," she sniffs. "I have failed you my whole life. You wanted nothing more than to be my sister, and I shunned you and treated you like trash. All... all because my mother told
Thomas's POV Thrusting my hands in my pockets, I rock back and forth on my feet, staring at Alpha Ethan. We don't like each other; that much has been established. But I need his help, so I must swallow my pride. "So," Alpha Ethan finally breaks the silence. "What is this favor that you need?" "I need you to take in a rogue," I tell him. Alpha Ethan laughs loudly, "And just why would I do this for you?" "Because he is my former Beta and Cora's mate. I cannot take him back to my pack just yet. He has to earn it," I explain. "But he doesn't need to earn the right to be part of the Paxton Pack? Emma will never go for this," Alpha Ethan shakes his head. "No one needs to know," I tell Ethan. "I just need to know that he and Cora will be safe until we can deal with her parents and Alpha Richard." Running his fingers through his hair, Ethan lets out a low growl. "Where is he now?" "At some scummy hotel on the side of the highway. He is waiting for me there. I have yet to te
Mia's POV Bile rises in my throat as I look at Donovan standing in the doorway of Cora's room. My hand immediately rises to my neck, trying to hide the hideous mark that mars my skin. "Hello, Sweetheart," Donovan says, not taking his eyes off me. Instantly Emma is on her feet, standing between Donovan and me. "How did you get past the guards?" She demands to know. Donovan sniffs the air around Emma, and an evil smile tugs at the corners of his lips. "Well, well, well," Donovan says as he looks at Emma. "What do we have here? The infamous Emma Paxton." Taking a step in Emma's direction, Donovan smells the air again. "You do smell good." "Stay back," Emma says sternly. "I will not let you hurt them again." With a wave of his hand, Donovan dismisses Emma's words. "I am not here to hurt anyone," he sneers. "I am only here to collect what is mine." Getting to my feet, I stand beside Emma. "I do not belong to you," I hiss at him. "I don't belong to anyone." "The mark
Thomas's POV "Something is wrong," Alpha Ethan says when we are about halfway back to the Paxton Pack. I glance at Ethan, who is growing restless in the seat beside me. "We aren't going fast enough," he screams at me. "What is going on?" I ask, confused. "Rogues," Dylan says from the back seat. "Rogues at the Paxton Pack." Ethan lets out a terrible growl, causing my car's windows to shatter. Slamming on the brakes, my car skids off the side of the road, and I turn to glare at Ethan. His claws are beginning to sprout from the tips of his fingers, and his eyes are pitch black. He is no longer in control. I am staring into the eyes of his wolf. Dylan is also in the back seat, partially shifted, and I wonder what I missed. "Will someone tell me what the fuck is going on?" I snarl. Ethan is too far gone to explain anything to me. Pushing the car door open, Ethan rips it off of its hinges. He leaps from the car, shifting in the air. He lands on four feet. His wolf turns his hea
Mia's POV Turning around in the bench seat of the old truck, I watch as what is left of the army of rogues follows us off Paxton Pack territory. I can only hope Cora, Emma, and her children remain safe. Or all of this will have been for nothing. "Turn around," Donovan growls as he lays his hand on my leg. "There is nothing left for you back there. You are going to be my Rogue Luna." My skin burns under his touch, almost like a warning. I snort with laughter as I brush his hand off my leg. "Just because you call yourself a pack, it doesn't make you one. I will never be your Luna." Grabbing me by the chin, Donovan forces me to look into his eyes. "You will be mine." Twisting my head, I wrench my chin out of Donovan's hand. "Why me?" I ask. "Out of all of the she-wolves in the world. Why me?" "You truly don't know who you are, do you?" Donovan laughs. "I am nobody," I hissed at him. "I was born a nothing, and I will always be a wolf-less nothing." "Why do you think Alpha
