"You…! This isn't the…same bicycle you rode on that day!" An unsteady whisper stealthily flowed out of Travis's lips that parted with uncertainty as he looked at the wheels of a bicycle that David carefully held with nourishment.

According to him, the words he has just spat are not supposed to reach anyone's ears — it was just an examination he loudly had to present. Twas unbeknownst to him that each letter did reach David's ears. Slowly, David felt his legs becoming numb. There was an electronic communication within the strings of his system, tangling with his heart that instantly began throbbing.

With each word being registered in his head, David's eyes swiftly dilated with flabbergast — not just flabbergast but a piercing emotion that encouraged sweat to overwhelm the cracking floor of his forehead. His hands were suddenly shaking — each grip on the bicycle was awkwardly wobbling.

His heart dared skip a beat. He heaved a silenced sigh as his head slowly turned to Travis whose ey

Footsteps delicately, almost carefully throbbed on the pavement that was romantically cluttered by a wave of dead leaves — each cracking pitifully as feet stepped on them. …With each cracking sound that cooly mingled with the sweet bitterness of the night and the sorrows of the wind as it whispered foreign words in the ears of both David and Travis. Happily with hearts that gently beat in a slow tempo, the two boys shuffled towards a destination only known by David. "Where…are we going?" An adequately curious and confused Travis questioned but all that he received was a wave of mischievous giggles from David, his best friend. High above the sky, the moon mightily stood up whilst it gently blew its blinding light down on the narrowed street the two boys were walking upon — smoothly increasing the volume of romance. "And-d-d-d…we are finally here!" With eyes that sparkled, David blurted just when they were approaching a lonely, white food truck. Its doors were lazily opened — inside

The wind suddenly whispered a song in the depths of Travis's ears — Travis who had just come out of the taxi. He gnashed his teeth as soon as he shuffled inside of the gigantic gate that had just opened with a loud clang. For some incomprehensible reason, his forehead was covered with beads of sweat — his hands were shivering without control. A good second the boy took five steps towards the luxurious, huge house, his feet there began to shake — not just shake but become terribly numb that all his movements were hindered. Travis swiftly transported a series of deep breaths into his lungs, hoping helplessly to calm his heart that was abruptly palpitating and wildly shaking wildly in the cages of his chest that was awfully burning bitterly. Out of the blue, Travis could feel his calves intensely bathing in warmth that made the rest of his body shiver. His vision had suddenly become blurry — nothing seemed to make sense at this point. The boy groaned with pain as he continued to limp

Up there in the sky, the blazing sun boldly hid behind a family of fluffy clouds that were lazily drifting in the gentle breeze. Nothing — the birds of different kinds chirped in harmony whilst fluttering their wings in the air. A beautiful moment indeed — Travis cooly smiled at the sight of what was happening in the sky albeit his dewy, sparkling eyes followed the beautiful dance moves made by the flowers, in the garden a few minutes away from him. There, he sat quietly on the balcony, freely permitting the light breeze to paste its kisses everywhere on his skin. Blowing so gently, the air ruffled his hair, exposing his bruise that had finally healed without anyone noticing that it was ever there. This was another day — Monday, a day that many hated, especially those who got to go to school, like Travis himself. Well, fortunately, today he did not go to school — definitely not because it was his decision but it was the doctor's orders. At least David had no reason to worry this tim

Nervous, trembling hands slowly entwined with each other. There, Martha uncomfortably sat around a big table cluttered by books strongly built by many ancient pages. Under the table, the girl's legs shivered as if they had just been removed from cold water — terrible! Her teary eyes nervously darted from one place to the other, intensely searching for someone. "Why do I always…have to be the one to go…through this? Hanna was…right-t-t, I shouldn't have…done it!" The girl anxiously whispered through her quivering teeth — her lips quivered albeit she continued her search. Her eyes slowly widened when they landed on the figure of someone she had been looking for — David and for that moment her eyes were laid on him, Martha had stopped breathing. She terrifyingly watched as David shuffled in the library, as quiet as he could be — in the direction of Martha whom he saw fidgeting and looking down whenever his eyes landed on hers. It was hell easy to spot Martha for she was the only one who

[STARS IN MY MIND!]The world stopped to him a gentle tone of ecstasy right in the chambers of David's ears — David whose cheeks were painted by glistening pink and red whilst his hands were involuntarily shaking as they clasped the dangling edges of his blazer. Heart! The tiny feet of his heart were stomping on his chest, making demands that were surly heavy for David to meet — so unruly. One; two — the suddenly hyperventilating boy quickly stopped a second away from the doorway of his classroom, there, where he knew that an "Angel" was waiting for him. Not just waiting but expecting his presence anytime soon. So loud like the explosives in a deadly war, his heart throbbed right in the doorway of his ear chambers, making it clear to him that it could not take any more pressure from his inner voice hidden in the depths of his head. The boy could feel both of his legs terribly wobbling in his trousers. He could feel a chilling trail of sweat covering his forehead and the nape of his

[Presentation Day!]——Boisterous! — The whole classroom was buzzing with muffled whispers. Everyone was up from their chairs, and seated on top of their desks while reciting words they had written in their books. There wasn't anxiety but suspense on their faces — everyone knew that soon or later, this day would come. Everyone, including Travis and David, was quietly staring at their books, waiting patiently for the teacher to arrive. "Ready?" Travis suddenly aired shortly after releasing a loud sigh while stretching his arms. David's eyes slowly removed themselves from the book as he silently pressed his lips together while nodding at Travis's question. For some reason, Travis could quickly spotted an unusual emotion wrapped across David's face — it was a worry. The boy frowned upon this encounter for he knew that his neighbour, David, was the top learner in their class and he was good in almost everything — after all, why would he be worried? This was totally new to Travis because

Outside, through the window — high up in the perfect azure sky, were fluffy clouds attempting to cuddle off with their mates whilst the afternoon sun unceremoniously threw its golden beams on the buildings as some hid behind the trees, quickly creating mysterious shadows that only thrilled Travis — the boy known to peek at nature and compliment it in secret. Right there in an awkwardly hushed room, Travis sat quietly as he leaned his cheek on his palm albeit his eyes squinted at learners who were hurrying out of the school gates. What could be why he was invited and why was I not told?” An agitated Jiyeon silently investigated. Thoughts were swirling in the back of her head, thwarting her from thinking of anything else but them. Her heart was beating heavily, not because she was scared but because she could not wait to finally set her eyes on David, whom he wished the worst had happened to him. With questions invading her head, she lost interest in Arthur and forgot that he was still around. On the other side, Arthur’s heart was jingling with delight watching Jiyeon’s reaction. He quietly ate his apple and finished it all without saying anything else to Jiyeon. Travis and Mrs Park suddenly showed up in the dining room — the maids were already done setting the table. “Oh, come on in, David. Please, don’t be afraid, make yourself at home.” David who was being walked by a guard stood s

[SOMEWHERE AROUND THE WORLD: 6 PM] Right there, in a black SUV, silence rudely lingered, making the quiet young man's heart hammer against his chest with slow, uncalculated moves. His eyes looked down at his sweaty palms, afraid to look up and meet Mr M’s threatening glance. “I see you are moving at a fast pace! That is great! Very good!” Mr M hissed as he applauded. David flinched at the deepness of his voice that casually reverberated across the car. Words hung on his uvula, refusing to come out of his mouth whilst his heart skipped a beat. Not knowing what to say, David bowed as he bit his lower lip. His eyes were still locked on his palms which were now curled into weak fists — not that he would use them on anything or anyone. “I hope you are not rushing just because you want to be debt-free.” Mr M hissed wearing a treacherous smile that instead made David swallow deep. The boy sharply raised his head and glued his eyes on Mr M. “N-no…, that is not the case. I just wa…!” “L

Cracks seemed to decorate his heart as he searched for answers. The moon was shining brightly in the sky like a sparkling diamond thrown in the ocean of pulsating tiny fish. The breeze gently kissed his skin, trying to help his body cool but that was a mission impossible. His blood was wildly boiling; veins had long protruded everywhere on his sweat-drenched skin. He nervously clenched his teeth while swallowing deepily; trying to get rid of a lump that was dancing in the chambers of his throat. His dilated eyes with shock sharply darted up and down the blue screen of his phone that for some reason proved to be heavy for his sweating hand. A frown had long glued itself across his forehead, shamelessly finding a temporary home immediately when he had switched his phone on. Questions and thoughts raced in his head, making it

The air became cold. Eyes bulged with unspoken fear as they mysteriously glided over the figure of Jiyeon. The girl had tilted her head to her right, her eyes slyly following every jumpy movement that her mother made. Her smile widened just when she noticed confusion covering the red, wet face of her mother. “You bastard! How could you do that to your own mother!?” Mrs Choi hissed through her trembling lips that were now dry as a hard bone. Her mouth felt like a desert, parched and craving moisture as words played hide and seek in the back of her throat. Beads of sweat lined up across her forehead as her breath became shallow. “Oh dear, I am my mother’s daughter. One bastard gave birth to another bastard.” Jiyeon released an annoyed sigh and chuckled when she caught her mother’s lips trembling. “Did you know, father always thought that I looked nothing like him. Jiyeon bit her lower lip and silently counted to three before she could open her eyes. “It is okay. I want to go…and get them myself.” Squeezing Mrs Park’s hand with her free, uninjured hand, Jiyeon whispered soon after taking a deep breath. Mrs Park stared at the girl for a while and never said a word. She nodded at her driver and the engine of the car they were in growled as it began moving. The car roared out of the Park mansion to a destination where Mrs Park was not so sure they should go to. Jiyeon quietly watched the tall, luxurious buildings pass as the car drove by. Night descended like a velvet cloak, softly enveloping the world in an inky blackness that seemed to have a texture all its own. The stars twinkled like diamonds scattered across the fabric of the sky, their gentle sparkle casting an ethereal glow over the landscape. The moon, a silver crescent, hung low on the horizon, casting long, sinuous shadows that stretched and twisted like living things. “Thank you.” David who had just come out of the taxi, said as he bowed and watched the taxi drive off. An oppressed sigh found its way out of his lips as he stood in the same spot for a while. His mind was set alight by a fountain of thoughts that made it hard for him to breathe or concentrate on anything else. “A sin? How is it a sin? And why would you find the pleasure in continuing this sin?” Travis’s words rang in the back of his head, poisoning his heart into a temporary melancholy. “Find the pleasure in continuing this sin? Travis did not notice the tall walls that prevented him from seeing the world outside the huge gates. “Fuck…!” He said silently to himself when it had finally dawned on him that he had to sneak out of the house and meet his boyfriend. His blood was running warm as his heart uncontrollably jingled in the chamber of his chest. The longing to see David had become an all-consuming force, a restless hunger that gnawed at his very soul. He found his grandmother and cousin, Arthur, already seated for breakfast. Jiyeon was absent from the table, something Travis quickly understood. “Sorry…for being late.” He apologised as he sat down on his chair. She bit her lower lip and nodded, “I am…fine.” Jiyeon replied in a voice that had dropped to a whisper. She slowly raised her head and turned her eyes to her left, where Travis was sitting. The boy had been quiet as he asked himself questions as to how Jiyeon got the big bruise on her face. The bruise decorated itself across the left side of Jiyeon’s face like a big wing of a butterfly.
