"Really?" The enraged woman asked them incredulously as she lowered her eyes at them and put her hands on her hips, taking a stance of total disapproval.

"This, this! This is what you're doing right now?" Julie shouted and pointed at them in total disbelief.

"Calm down, darling, we were only just getting started," Edgar said as he sat up and handed his wife the throw blanket that was draped across the back of the couch.

She immediately covered herself, but then she looked totally horrified, as she realized that he was still completely naked from the waist down…and he still had a raging hard on.

"Edgar," she tried to interject, to no avail at all, because he just kept right on talking, like he didn't even hear her.

"This is absolutely absurd!" Julie shouted as she pointed at Edgar with malice in her eyes.

"My daughter is lying in there completely fucked up from the floor up…and you are in here getting laid?!" She shouted at the top of her lungs, while she seemed utterly oblivious to the state that Edgar was in.

"Look, Julie," he tried to reason, as he turned abruptly to the side, causing his extremely hard penis to slap him on his hip, making a loud smacking sound.

Amanda cringed as she heard it happen, knowing that everyone else had heard it too. She closed her eyes and pursed her lips in utter embarrassment, as the argument between an outlandishly furious woman and the half dressed man with a hard on raged on in all of it's complete ridiculousness.

"This is unacceptable, Edgar!" She shouted angrily while she flailed her arms around in total frustration.

"I wouldn't leave my dog with you, let alone my child! You and your family are a disgrace to our community. You had better have my husband's money, because my daughter will be going home with me tonight!"

With that she wielded herself around and stormed away, her dress making an angry swooshing sound as she swept down the hallway cursing to herself the whole way. The staff all just bowed their heads and left quietly, shutting the door behind themselves as they went.

Amanda looked as though she could have melted and poured herself through the floor at that very moment. She was thoroughly embarrassed at the whole situation, and mortified that the whole world had seen her in all of her naked, natural glory.

Edgar didn't seem to give a damn at all, he seemed more annoyed at the fact that he didn't get to finish making love to his wife without interruption, and when he looked over and saw the look on his beloved wife's face, he was even more pissed off.

He couldn't believe the audacity of the woman who just busted in on his private moment with his wife. She was a guest in his house, who the hell did she really think she was? Amanda seemed to be reading his thoughts. She opened her mouth to say something, and then she thought better of it and swallowed it back down, but not before he noticed.

"What is it Dear?" He asked her, exasperated.

"Say what you are thinking?" He gently demanded of his wife as he raised his eyebrows and clasped his hands behind his back.

Amanda couldn't help but to laugh a little bit at her sweet husband. He looked as though he had completely forgotten that he had no pants on. He was there pacing back and forth, cursing and grumbling....with absolutely no pants on. It was finally more than she could take and she just couldn't stop herself from bursting out in completely inappropriate laughter.

Edgar stopped to look at his wife. He was a little worried that she may have actually lost her shit.

"What in the hell are you laughing at you crazy ass woman?" he asked her with a slight look of amusement on his face.

"You... nothing.... I'm so sorry honey, but I honestly do not believe that I have ever been quite so embarrassed in my life," she said while trying to stifle her laugh.

"Just look at us, we are here fighting with our oldest and best friends, because YOUR son was being an asshole... and we are both completely naked. None of this is even a little funny to you?" She asked him with a gleam in her eye and a sheepish smile on her face.

"I guess so, if you point it out like that," he said and he let out a little chuckle.

"I'll tell you what isn't funny, though," he said as his look turned serious all of a sudden.

"Julie. She is far less funny than Maxwell and she has every right to be mad as hell about her daughter. We have to find a way to make this right before she decides to start making moves of her own." Edgar told his wife with all the sincerity that he could muster at the moment.

"I suppose you're right. Let me go change and see if I can talk to her. Why don't you go and see if you can talk to Daniel in the mean time?" Amanda softly urged her husband as she carefully got to her feet and gathered herself to leave the office. She handed her husband his pants and sweetly kissed him on his cheek before leaving the room and quietly shutting the door behind her.

Amanda went quickly back to her room and changed her torn party dress for a more comfortable house dress and then made her way back to Stella's room to check on her, before she had to face Julie. She figured she should at least know Stella's status first.

She met the doctor in the hallway outside of Stella's bedroom door. She calmly approached and greeted the doctor, trying her best to hide her fear and uneasiness about the whole situation while she listened intently to what he was saying to her.

When the doctor was finished, Amanda thanked him and then she opened the door, being very careful not to wake Stella if she was sleeping. Her head was hanging low and she was obviously devastated by everything that had happened over the course of the evening. Her dress swept silently by her legs as she turned to close the door again behind her.

Amanda was totally lost in her thoughts as she held onto the door with her back still facing Stella. It was as if she was trying to bring herself to face the truth, and looking at Stella right now meant she had no choice but to deal with it all.

She stood there silently crying and refusing to turn around for what felt like forever. A few minutes passed before Amanda realized that she wasn't alone in the room. She instantly sucked up her tears and her body stiffened with the sudden sense that she was being watched. She used her skirt to dry her face and she straighted her posture before she slowly turned around to see Julie sitting by Stella's bed and she was staring daggers through the back of her head.

Julie's cutting glare was actually physically painful to her at the moment. It made her want to somehow disappear, but she knew that was most definitely not an option. Amanda knew that she was going to have to deal with this one way or another, so she figured now was as good as later.

"Julie...." She started to say, but Julie just put her hands up to say she just didn't want to hear it, and so Amanda took the hint and stopped. The two women just stood there for a few minutes staring at each other like total strangers. It was as if the past thirty five years of friendship had vanished. All that was left were two women fighting for the life, man, and child that they loved. This was not going to be a simple fix and everyone knew it. Especially between these two women standing face to face right then and there.

"How is she?" Amanda finally breaks the silence to ask.

"She will live, but this is still bullshit, and you damn well know it," Julie barked.

"Julie you know damn good and well that I had no part in this. I don't know how everything got so out of hand tonight, but I can assure you that I am no more happy about it than you are right now," Amanda asserted to her old friend.

"Amanda, my heart is broken right now. We have been friends for so long, how could you let my daughter be subject of all of this abuse? She has been here less than twenty four hours and look at this already," Julie began to cry.

"Amanda I am scared and I am already so sad for my daughter. She is being snatched away from everything that she loves and her whole life is being changed. All of that because our husbands can't seem to get their shit together somewhere in their businesses. This just makes my heartache even greater."

Julie began to sob uncontrollably, causing Amanda to run to her. She stretched her arms out and wrapped them around Julie and both of them fell to the floor. They held each other and cried until they just couldn't cry anymore.
