I wake up with a thumping headache. I groan while dragging myself into a sitting position.

I realise I’m in the infirmary when my eyes meet Kale’s. Josh is also here, staring at me.

“What happened?” I ask Josh.

“You don’t remember?”

“Would I have asked if I did?”

Josh shakes his head before telling me, “Valsurus attacked Gianna again.”

“What?”

No, that can’t be; he wouldn’t do that again!

‘I would, and if Josh hasn’t stabbed me with wolfsbane, I would have torn the bitch apart!”

‘Why? Why would you do something like that to Gianna?’
