I hope you are enjoying my book. Please comment how you are liking it so ar.
Haley Alpha Avery must have heard me play at the festival. The violin is beautiful. Playing with the boys brings me such joy, it was the only time we could smile and enjoy ourselves back in Red Moon. I’m glad they were able to escape the same day I was saved. I wish I could understand this feeling of wanting to be near Alpha Avery. He’s been nice yes, but I highly doubt he is my mate. “You ever going to come down Haley? Breakfast is ready,” Nick mind links me. It’s definitely been convenient to be able to mind link. “I’m coming.” I head downstairs to find the boys cooked breakfast and there is a present wrapped. “Don’t worry, Harrison and Aiden had a meeting with Alpha Avery. They are not here at the moment,” says Ray. “Happy Birthday Haley,” they say in unison. “You guys didn’t have to get me anything and technically it’s not until midnight.” “We know but we figured we would celebrate today rather than tomorrow. You’ll probably be sore and tired,” says Nick. I beam a smile at
Haley I can’t help but laugh at the boys as they lightly bang their head on the table. There struggling with algebra. I decide it’s time to stop and eat some lunch. I head to the kitchen to make us sandwiches but find we don’t have any mayo. “Hey I’m going to run over to the pack house to see if they have mayo we can steal.” “Okay,” the boys yell, focused on their video game. I smile, shaking my head as I make my way over to the Alpha’s house. My body instantly shutters at the unsettling atmosphere in the house. I knock on the side door that leads to the kitchen but no one answer. I find it’s unlocked and as soon as I push the door open I freeze at the most terrifying scream I’ve ever heard. I slowly make my way to the door the sounds are coming from. I slowly open the door and the sounds get louder as I hear Alpha Avery’s voice. “Who sent you!” “Bite me Alpha.” I hear another blood curdling scream and find that my feet are moving down the steps. My heart pumping erraticall
Haley That training session kicked my butt but I feel amazing. It’s been too long since I’ve been able to train so hard. I am not happy with not being able to have any power behind my attacks but at least everything dad taught me hasn’t been forgotten. I tell the boys to not wait for me and just head to the music store once they finish with their shower. My hair is so long and curly, it’ll take forever to blow dry. On my way to the music shop I stop by Mary’s Bakery and grab some treats for me and the boys. It’s across the street from my music store so I am sure we will be regular customers. Their croissants are to die for, I even grab one for Pancho, the construction crew leader. “Hey Pancho. How are things coming along?” “Hi Haley. We are on schedule.” “Here I got you one of these while we do the walk through.” “Thank you Haley. Mary’s is the best.” “Hey,” Ray whines, getting a chuckle out of me. I toss the boys their treats and they quickly dig in. “Alright, so we’ve torn
Alpha Avery Haley still wants nothing to do with me. I shouldn’t have shown up at the music store. I watch her leave and wanna punch myself for being so pushy with her. “Keep up the good work Pancho, I’ll see you around.” I leave and let Spartan take over. We could use a good run. He makes a bee line for the forest when suddenly he skids to a stop. My heart clenches as we feel our mate unbelievably sad. He changes directions and heads right for her scent. My heart shatters at the scene before us. She found her parents. Spartan cautiously approach, trying not to scare her. He rubs his fur against her and she jumps a little but then relaxes once she sees us. She throws her arms around our neck crying harder than I’ve ever seen. I wish I could make this better for her. Spartan whimpers at her and she pulls away. He licks her tears away, not knowing what else to do. “Sorry,” She says as she pulls some tissue out of her bag. Spartan nudges her trying to get her to talk about it. “T
Haley “Nick, Ray, my wolf’s name is Hazel.” They are smiling at me as I continue to have a conversation with my wolf. “You shouldn’t go around telling people you have your wolf Haley, because of what we are.” “It’s okay Hazel, they already know. We were slaves together and I told them everything, they’re like my little brothers. They want to help protect my secret.” “I’m not saying that for your safety, I was saying it for theirs. Knowing your secret puts them in danger of being a target for those who want to use your ability.” “Ability? What ability?” “Haley the curse is called the Healing Kiss. With just a kiss we can heal any and all wounds but it comes at a cost. We take that person’s injury and if you heal someone on the brink of death, it could kill us.” “So we don’t kill our mate?” “No, but our mate will protect us fiercely. This will get himself killed in the process.” So that is why it is believed we are cursed to kill our mate. In a way we are the reason our mate die
Haley I wake the next morning surprisingly feeling really good. I figured I’d be sore and not want to get out of bed today, but it’s quite the opposite. I feel energized and ready to take on the day. “It’s cause I’m here now sweet girl. You will heal faster than a typical wolf because of what we are.” “I guess that’s helpful since we take on other’s wounds.” “Yes, but doing too much at once will drain you. Remember you can only do so much.” “I’ll be careful Hazel, I promise.” “So, you’ve adopted those two pups I see,” chuckles Hazel. “Yes. Nick and Ray were still so young when they arrived at Red Moon I just felt the need to care for them. Their families did nothing to save them.” “You are the kindest soul I have been attached to.” “You’ve been with others?” “Yes. You are not the first human my soul has been attached to nor the first blood red wolf.” “What were the other’s like?” “They tended to be selfish and only looked out for themselves. In the end, their mates died and
Alpha Avery We are watching our mate be the little badass that she is. She easily takes down Harrison, making me smile with pride that she is my mate. “There is something different about her Avery,” says Spartan. “She does appear stronger faster than I anticipated and her reflexes are lightening quick. Can you sense her wolf?” “I know she is in there but she doesn’t seem to want to make herself known to Haley for some reason. I would say her wolf will appear soon with how strong Haley has gotten.” Suddenly Spartan’s ears prick up, concentrating on Haley. “What is it Spartan?” He doesn't answer me right away so I try to concentrate on Haley as well. “I thought I sensed her wolf there and tried coaxing her out but nothing. Maybe I’m just desperate and tricking myself." “You’ve gotten stronger I see Haley,” I tell her, letting her know I am proud of her progress. “Oh, uh, yeah. Harrison and Aiden are good teachers plus with my dad’s training it didn’t take long to get back in
Alpha Avery “Do you smell that Spartan?” “I do. Who is our mate checking out?” “I am not sure. There are plenty of wolves here her age, so it could be anyone.” As soon as her arousal hit me I stopped dead in my tracks in the middle of the court. Our eyes lock and she blushes turning her gaze away from me. Could it be she is turned on by watching me? I can only hope it’s me and not one of these pups. Some of them have wolves but none of them seem to pay her any attention. I watch her leave to the coffee shop across the street and I force myself to turn my attention back to the game. I need to end this now so I can go to her. I need to know if her feelings have shifted even in the slightest. Nothing but net, as the ball sinks in for three points. “Alright boys, I gotta get going. Good game though.” I give everyone high fives before leaving them to go after my mate. “What’s got you in such a hurry,” says Mason, hot on my heels. “I think Haley is feeling the mate bond more and
