Chp 1 Pt. 5 The Slave

I get back downstairs and wake up the girls. We all get ready for today when we hear commotion upstairs. We rush up the steps to find James being dragged along the ground by silver chains hooked up to quads. We stand on the patio and watch in horror.
“Now James, did you really think you wouldn’t get caught?”
“Alpha, please have mercy.”
“Mercy? I don’t think that is a part of my vocabulary now is it Beta?”
Alpha Jake and the rest of his wolves laugh though I know this isn’t a joke. Alpha Jake doesn’t do mercy, I just hope they kill him quickly.
“Not that I recall Alpha,” laughs beta Carson.
“Now was it just you or did you have some help?”
James eyes flicker to mine before back down on the ground. Shit. I didn’t help him exactly but I didn’t alert the guards either. Alpha Jake turns and looks my way. He makes a tsking sound as he walks towards me.
“Girls leave and start your chores. Now,” I whisper to them as I watch Alpha Jake get closer.
Samantha and Ashley leave me and head back inside. Alpha Jake reaches me and grabs me by the hair making me scream at the pain as he drags me to the post he keeps for his slaves. My hands are cuffed to the post with silver chains and I cry out as they burn my wrists.
“You of all people should know by now what happens when one tires to run away Haley.”
I cry out at the crack of the whip, cutting open my skin. I can feel the blood trickle down my back as I hear Alpha Jake smirk.
“Please Alpha, it was my fault. I ran away, she did not aid me.”
I hear the crack of the whip again but this time it doesn’t connect with my back. I turn my head and find the whip wrapped around James’ neck.
“Take him to the dungeon in silver chains. I will deal with him later.”
Damn it. I was hoping he wouldn’t torture poor James and just kill him quickly. I’ll have to remember to pray to the moon goddess to watch over him. James is dragged from the field and I brace myself for another cut to my skin. I peak an eye open and find Alpha Jake next to me.
“You’ve disappointed me Haley. Open your mouth.”
I do as I’m told and immediately cry out as he places a rag soaked in wolfsbane between by lips and ties it behind my head. Each breath is agonizing as I inhale the wolfsbane. It’s like my lungs are on fire as I struggle for fresh air.
“You will wear this until I say so. Maybe next time you will speak up when you notice a slave trying to run away. Now leave.”
I stand and rush back inside. Tears staining my cheeks at the pain. Ashley and Samantha find me cleaning a bathroom and they rush to my side. Ashley goes to remove the rag but pulls back as it burns her. I shake my head at her as she reaches for it again. I push them to finish their chores before we head back to the basement at the end of the day.
Ashley has me lay on my stomach as she cleans the deep cuts and puts some healing herbs on it she snagged from the medicinal pantry.
“Please let me take it off of you Haley.”
I shake my head no at her and turn my head away from the girls. I cry silent tears as I let sleep take over.
The beta has me in his arms as we enter the pack the house. I don’t fight against him as he races through the forest until I see lights ahead. As we get closer I see the biggest house I have ever seen. I had never actually been to the pack house before and didn’t realize it was so grand. He takes me straight to the Alpha’s office where we find a young woman giving him a blow job.
“What is it Carson, can’t you see I am busy.”
Carson sets me in a chair and walks over to the Alpha, whispering to him. The Alpha snaps his head at me and shoves the girl off of him. The poor thing falls backwards and hits her head on the coffee table. I can feel his aura and it scares me. I do not trust this Alpha.
“Leave now.”
Alpha Jake gets up from his chair, pulling his pants back on, and walks over to me. Not once did he take his eyes off of me. He walks in a circle, studying me as if I am a piece of artwork he is admiring.
“I’ve missed you Haley. It’s been a long year without you. Where are her parents,” he asks his beta.
“Dead Alpha. Wild rogues.”
“Good. Clean her up and put her in the basement. Get her started tomorrow.”
“Yes, Alpha,” says Carson.
“You will live here now Haley, as my slave.”
I wake up again. Same time, drenched in sweat. I feel like my subconscious is trying to tell me something but I must be missing it. I rack my brain for why I keep having these reoccurring dreams, but come up empty. I breath in deeply only to cough at the burning sensation traveling down my throat.
“Easy there Haley.”
I freeze at the sound of the Alpha’s voice. I turn my head towards him, finding him sitting in a chair next to my bed. He removes the rag and hands me a glass of water. I slowly reach out to grab it before gulping it down. The ice cold water soothes my soar throat. It’ll take days before the wolfsbane leaves my system. Alpha Jake takes the glass from me and moves me to a sitting position.
“You’ve been here the longest out of all the slaves Haley. I know you know better. Now I need you at full strength. You and the girls will be planning a birthday party for the Alpha of the Crescent Moon pack who will be visiting us in a week. It needs to be perfect. You ladies will be taken into town today for new dresses to work the party.”
“Yes, Alpha,” I reply with a cracked voice.
“Good girl. Now wake the girls and send Ashley up to see me. You need to rest and I need someone to take care of me this morning.”
