Loki begrudgingly leads me outside so that we can shift. It is easiest for him to show me memories if we are in our wolf forms and I don’t argue. The longer I stay inside Lux’s body the more I feel like I’m overstepping.
She hasn’t tried to take control and I think is enjoying the break. I’m just noticed used to being in her form for this long.
Loki grumbles, “Shift, let’s hurry up.”
I nod and don’t argue as I shift, shredding my clothes because I didn’t think about stripping first. I lie on the ground and take a deep breath, enjoying the fresh air. The aura shifts around us as Loki shifts into his wolf form. He sits beside me with his paw on top of mine and I gasp softly as I see images, his memories, and hear voices.“Kodi just listen to me!” Loki calls out running towards my wolf in that life.“Enough, Loki! What are you trying to accomplish with these lies?! I’ve met my mate and it’s n
Kai Walking into Genevieve’s room I couldn’t help the disappointment that washed over me. I was really hoping that she would be talking or moving by now. Silas looks at me and gives a small smile as he stands up and walks away from the seat closest to her. I step out of his way when suddenly, Genevieve's eyes meet mine and I watch in awe as the corners of her mouth twitch up and she says softly, “Hey wolfy.”I rush to her side and sit on the edge of the bed as I grab her face with both of my hands and say in shock, “You can talk.”She nods slowly and says, “And I can move my head. I can’t move anything else yet.”I give her a quick peck on the lips and say, “It’ll get there.”She smiles, and I hear Silas excuse himself. Genevieve watches him go and I ask, “Is everything okay?”“Yeah, everything’s good. You know... it’s weird being aware when everyone else isn’t.”My face scrunches up in confusion as I ask, “What
LuxEverything was feeling normal. Lying against Silas’s shoulder reminded me of our first and so far, only date.Things felt so complicated then…little did I know how crazy things would truly get.I think about that kiss we had where I straddled him. I wanted to kill my wolf for being so forward. I never would’ve thought that she actually knew what she was doing. Now I’m tempted to be like her. I want to feel close to him. And these sparks with him although kind of scary are also reassuring and calming. It reminded me that I’m meant to be with him just like he’s meant to be with me. It reminds me of the fact that I’m not alone in this world anymore.I take a breath as I try to collect my courage but before I can react on it, I hear a noise in the distance. My eyebrows furrow in confusion as I sit up moving away from Silas. He asks, “Lux, are you okay?”&ld
Lux I knock on my dad’s door, but he doesn’t answer. I open it up and I force myself not to gag from the smell.Has he even showered since I was taken? I take cautious steps as I walk in because I can tell right away that their normal clean room is riddled with items on the floor. I call out, “Dad?”He doesn’t answer and I say, “Dad, I need to talk to you?”I hear his soft voice as he answers, “Lux?”“Yeah dad, it’s me. Where are you?” Suddenly I’m wrapped in his embrace. The stench coming from him is horrible, but it is what it is. I’m not going to say anything not now as he is sobbing in my arms. His whole body convulses with his sobs and I just stand there in his embrace and rub his back as I try to soothe him. He says to me through his tears, “H-how are you here? I-I-I thought I lo-lost you forever.” I laugh softly as I say, “No dad, not forever. Your little girl is a fighter.”“That’s true. You always have been. You’re
SilasWhen I took Stefan back to the cells, he seemed completely tame. When he first escaped to talk to Lux, I believed it’s because he had ill intentions. But seeing him so calm now I think that I was wrong. I think he really was worried and needed to tell someone in power and someone that he felt like he could trust.I walked Stefan to his cell and see Apollo in the cell next to him. Apollo glares at me with hatred but I ignore him as I walk out. I don’t need to interact with him there’s no reason for me to taunt him on the fact he’s in there and I’m out here. No reason to taunt him over the fact that Lux is mine.He yells my name as I get to the steps to leave. I clench my eyes shut as I resist the temptation to interact with him. I need to get back to Lux.I rush back to the pack house and smile when I see her in the kitchen. She leans against the counter and there’s a frown on
Lux Kai told me he was busy and to not bother him till the morning. It’s been hard to sleep, I’ve been tossing and turning all night and it’s now 5:00 a.m. and I just feel wired. I need to talk to my brother. I need to get his permission to go find this hybrid. She must be the key to ending this impending battle. I get out of bed and head to the kitchen to get a drink. I wish time would move by quicker. I’m so lost in my thoughts I didn’t notice when another scent entered the room. My brother’s voice makes me jump as he asks, “What are you doing up?”I place my hand over my heart as I take deep breaths calming myself down. I respond, “I couldn’t sleep… and you? I thought you’d be with Genevieve right now.”“I can’t sleep either… She’s still asleep. Before she went to bed, she was able to move her arms so I’m hoping that by the time she wakes up she’ll have full mobility back.”I nod, “I’m glad to hear she’s doi
Silas I have never slept as good as last night. Having Lux sleep in my arms was the most serene experience. And waking up with her still there in the morning was even better. I stared down at her face for the longest time, just enjoying being in her presence. When her eyes fluttered open, I was grateful that she couldn’t see me staring. Her opal eyes are something I’ll never get tired of seeing, but this is the first time I’ve really been able to see them this close. I noticed that the pink and blue hues inside the white seemed to move as if they had a life of their own. It was captivating. Lux says, “Good morning.”I smile and kiss the top of her head as I say, “Good morning, sunshine.”She grins and says, “Kai gave us permission to leave last night. So, are you ready for a trip to New York?”I purse my lips and say, “I need to make a call first. Is that okay?”She nods and says, “I’m going to go to my room an
KaiGenevieve is finally awake, and she is able to move her whole body. I was so happy I cried. She watched me with an amused expression before hugging me and telling me she was happy to be with me.We walk downstairs to the dining room, and I try not to be too protective, but it’s hard for me to not just wrap her up in my arms and keep her like that forever. She looks over her shoulder at me as if she can sense my discomfort and she states, “Kai, I’m fine.”I nod, “I see that… but-”She shakes her head, “No buts, Kai. Let’s move on. I’m okay and that’s all that matters.”I smile, she’s right. I’ll stop arguing her. We walk into the dining room, and I smile when I see Lux and Silas sitting across from each other and my dad is at the head of the table. My feet stop moving when I see him. He’s showered, he shaved, he actually looks like
LuxFlying is a horrid thing indeed.Stuck in a small metal tube flying high above solid ground, unable to hear the soothing sounds of nature or other people. No, only able to hear everything mechanical, the deafening wind, and the sound of the other four people on this plane.Silas tried to talk to me and distract me, but it didn’t work. He ended up placing headphones over my ears and turned classical music on high in an effort to make me relax. It worked a little, he held my hand the whole time and rubbed it soothingly. But I couldn’t help but take a breath of relief when we finally made it to land. He brought my hand up to his lips and said, “Now, my dear, should we rest for the night or get to work?”I smile, “Get to work if we can. It’s a Saturday night in New York, surely the Sinclair’s are up to something fantastic tonight.”“I’ll see what I can fin
