KEILAH

I felt tears brimming in my eyes as I felt the cold mud against my skin.

I tried standing up, but the mud only pulled me down, causing me to sit back down with a pathetic splattering sound. I tried this a couple more times, but they only resulted in the same event.

My cousins’ laughter resounded once more, continually teasing me for my struggles.

I turned toward their direction.

“Can you—can you help me please?” I asked, swallowing my pride.

As much as I tried, I don’t think I’ll be able to get out of here without anybody else’s help.

“But you look so comfortable!” Evelyn exclaimed. “We’ll leave for a while, so try to enjoy your stay, alright?”

“Wh—what?” I stammered. “You’re going to leave me here?”

They chuckled, then I heard their chattering and chuckles becoming more and more distant.

“Wait! Help me out!” I exclaimed, but they continued to ignore my words.

After a few seconds, everything turned silent, so I knew that they were already gone—and I was all alone in this muddy field.

“Help!” I screamed, hoping someone would hear. Weston was usually the one who would get me out of these types of situations, but he’s not here.

I continued to scream for help, my throat turning raw. After a couple of agonizing minutes, I heard someone's footsteps coming over my way.

“Oh my,” I suddenly heard someone exclaim. “Keilah, is that you?”

“Marilyn?” I asked, my voice filled with hope.

Marilyn is one of the maids here in the castle. She has been working here for a long time—even when my mom and dad were still in reign. She had been good to me ever since I was a child, and when my parents died, she’d give me some food from time to time.

“Oh, it really is you! What happened?” she asked. “Why are you in there?”

I let out a shaky sigh. “It’s a long story,” I said.

“Is it because of your cousins again?”

“It’s one of their jokes again,” I said.

She sighed in frustration. “Those people, really. You’re already adults, but they’re still so childish as ever. Wait there, okay? I’ll help you get out.”

"Thank you,” I said, relieved that I would finally be able to make my way out.

She pulled me out of the mud and onto the hard ground.

“Oh, deary, you’re filthy,” she said. “Do you want to wash up at the stables? I can lend you a towel and some clothes.”

“Yes, please,” I said, feeling disgusted with how I felt already. I couldn't possibly go home with all the mud weighing me down. Moreover, I felt like I was warmer than usual. I must be running a fever or something.

“Come. I’ll lead you to the stables. I would lead you to the maid’s quarters if I could, but I know you wouldn’t like that.”

I nodded my head in appreciation. I didn't want anybody else to see me in this kind of situation.

After walking for a couple of moments, I heard the sound of the neighs, so I knew that we were already at the stables.

“Here,” she said. “The water is quite cold, but it’s better than nothing, right?”

“Cold water is no biggie,” I cheerfully said. The cottage doesn’t have a heater, so I’ve gotten used to bathing with cold water. Besides, my body feels so hot that I can use some cooling down.

“Oh, Keilah. You shouldn’t be. Even the maids bathe with warm water these days.”

I smiled and looked down at the ground. “It’s really okay. Your help is already more than enough.”

“Well then,” she said. “I’ll grab you some clothes and leave them out here. I have to head back to the castle afterward since I still have some chores lined up. I would love to stay here with you, but I'm afraid I cannot. We have more chores these days since Prince Enzo is staying with us.”

I bit my lip as I heard his name. So, it seems like he's really staying here for the meantime, huh?

“Thank you so much,” I said as I entered the small bathroom meant for the workers who tend to the horses.

I shivered as I poured the cold water on top of my head, but at the same time, felt relieved since the mud was getting washed off.

I heard some ruffling sounds right outside of the shower doors along with some giggles. I inferred that it’s probably just Marilyn leaving my clothes, so I just let it be.

I showered quickly since I wanted to get home to Lucky. I reached my hand out for the towel and smiled when I felt it right where Marilyn promised it to be.

I carefully opened the door, making sure that nobody else was around, before reaching for the clothes and the cloak she had left me.

I wandered my hands around, yet I didn’t feel anything.

I frowned. “It should be here,” I muttered under my breath.

My mind flashed back to the giggles I heard during the middle of my shower.

Those giggles—they were familiar.

My eyes widened in surprise when I recognized them.

My cousins.

I thought I heard Evelyn's voice while I was showering, but blamed it on my imagination. I guess, I should have trusted my instincts.

I felt for the clothes for some more, but they're really not here.

Then, that means that I'm out here all alone with nothing but a towel. My face was out in the open, and I can't do anything about it.

I bit my lip and couldn’t help but let a tear escape.

Then suddenly, my body grew hot, and I felt a familiar sense of warmth go through my veins.

My peachy scent oozed out of my gland, and I finally realized what’s going on.

I thought that this day couldn’t get any worse.

But it just did.

I’m already forced to go home in only in a towel.

And to make matters worse, I’m on my heat.

How could I miss it?

It only comes by three times a year, and I’ve already known its pattern.

However, I failed to recognize it for the past few days due to the drastic events that happened in my life.

“What should I do?” I muttered under my breath, feeling defeated.

I certainly can’t stay here since the stable boys may come in later in the afternoon.

So, I had no other choice.

I had to go home in this kind of get-up.

But I have to do this fast.

In only a towel, I dashed out of the stables.

I was praying deep inside my mind that I don’t run into anyone at all, but damn, this day could actually become even worse.

Because just as I was about to arrive at my cottage, I bumped into someone once again.

It wasn’t my cousins.

But I hoped that it was them. They would have been a better choice during this time.

I gasped in surprise as I smelled a familiar scent and fell into a familiar pair of arms.

Prince Enzo.

Oh gosh! What do you think Enzo's reaction would be after seeing Keilah's face?

I stared at the humble cottage right before my eyes and shook my head in disbelief. I just wanted to walk around since I felt suffocated in the mansion, but before I even knew it, my feet led me here—back to the blind omega's cottage. Keilah—that's her name. I heard it after that Weston guy called for her. "Fuck," I muttered under my breath. I should head back and forget about her existence. She's an omega—the kind that I hate, and I shouldn't let my beliefs be swayed just because I'm curious about what she looks like. I turned away from the cottage and started walking back, when I smelled the familiar scent of peach getting stronger and stronger than before. I frowned. That's fucking strange. Why does her scent smell even sweeter than usual? Am I hallucinating? It turns out, I wasn't hallucinating; because the next thing I knew, I

It was hazy, but I still remember his touch.Enzo.I uttered his name over and over again as he pleasured my body. I was in my heat, and that was the very first time that someone had helped me get through it.That’s when the tears came streaming down my face. He saw my face, and I clearly remember the way he didn’t even let me kiss him last night.I didn’t have any clothes on except for the blanket he had left me. Even at this point, I can still smell his scent on my body.“You’ve got what you wanted,” his last words echoed in the back of my mind. What does he mean by that?Is he insinuating that I was using my heat against him? If that is what he’s thinking, then he’s wrong. I know that it’s not an excuse that I wasn’t in my right mind, but still, he’s also one to blame for how the situation panned out.

KEILAH "What?" I asked, his words not registering in my mind yet. Servant? "I said—be my servant. Is that too hard to comprehend?" he asked. "But, why me?" I asked. "I didn't do anything wrong to you." He chuckled coldly, taking a step forward. I felt his body right in front of me, yet I couldn't move. The power he was emanating was too much that it made me weak in the knees. "You said you'd do anything, right?" I pursed my lips together and looked to the side. "Don't involve Keilah in any of this," Weston interrupted. "You've already done enough. Face me like a man." "Then, face me in a battle," he said in a cocky voice. "I'm not that hard to please. Whatever you say, goes." "Fine," Weston said. "It's not like I can't beat you anyway." I closed my eyes to think for a second. "When will it be?" Weston challenged. "As soon as possible," Enzo said. "I'll do it," I said, interrupting their conversation. "What?" Weston snapped. "Are you out of your mind, Keilah?" Enz

KEILAHI let out a tired sigh as I wiped my sweat with my cloak. Enzo ordered me to wash all his clothes, and the amount of clothes he has for a month's stay is honestly ridiculous. I don't even know why he wants me to wash all his clothes again when they've been newly sent-out by his family. But, I couldn't really defy his words, so I just let it be. He also wants me to hand wash all of these, which just makes it more difficult. It's a good thing that Marilyn helped me separate the colored clothes from the white ones; otherwise, I don't even know how I'd manage. "Last batch," I muttered under my breath, trying to cheer myself up. I tried convincing myself that this is nothing compared to everything I've been through. I got up from the small chair and stretched my back after I finished washing the clothes. I only had to rinse them one more time, so I excitedly tipped over the soapy water down the drain to replace it with clean water. However, as I went to fetch some clean water,

ENZO"Holy shit," he muttered under his breath. My gaze strayed over to Keilah and saw that her cloak had been slightly blown away by the breeze. Despite the fair distance, her beauty couldn't be hidden. Her hair blew against the wind, and her eyes shone under the bright sun. Her eyes widened in surprise as she tried to place her cloak back on. "What the fuck?" Matthrew exclaimed. "Is that really Keilah? She's beautiful!"I frowned and looked away from the scene. "She's alright," I said. "Alright?" Matthew asked. "Have you seen her face? I can't believe I assumed that she looked ugly when she literally looks like that. You must really have high standards if you think she's just alright. She's even prettier than all the other princesses combined."I didn't know why I was being agitated by the way he spoke about Keilah, so I sighed and crossed my arms in front of my chest. "I'll head inside. I still have something to let her do.""What?" he asked. "What else could you possible make he

What are you two doing?”Matthew sighed. “We’re washing your clothes.”He was silent for a while, then I felt him walking over my way. “You’re still not finished?” he asked. I underestimated how close he was as I felt his hot breath brush over my forehead.I pursed my lips together. “An accident happened, sir,” I explained. “And we had to wash your clothes once again.”He sighed in frustration, and I honestly felt quite anxious.“What can you even do right? KEILAH "Phew," Marilyn said after we finished folding Alpha Enzo's clothes. Fortunately, I was able to get some of her help. Otherwise, I would have been here all night long. "Thank you, Marilyn," I said. She chuckled and patted my head. "It's no worries," she said. "I'm glad I could help you. Are you going to bring this to Alpha Enzo's room now?" I shook my head. "I'll do it tomorrow. He might be asleep now, and I don't really want to disturb him." "Alright," she said. "Then, do you want to head to the maids' quarters for a bit to freshen up? I heard you don't have any water in your room." "Yeah," I looked down at the ground. "Queen Grace locked the bathroom of the guest room. I guess she really doesn't want me to be there." "To hell with that woman," she said. "Marilyn!" I exclaimed. "She may hear you, you know?" "She doesn't come here," she said. "In fact, none of the royal family members come down here anyway. They're all too pristine and spoiled to be doing chores." I

"Oh," he said, finally recognizing what I was talking about. "The gifts I left, huh?" I let out a soft sigh of relief since I thought that somebody else must have given me those gifts. "The gift of friendship, you say?" he chuckled jokingly, causing me to become tense once more. "It's really nothing," he said, patting my shoulder. "If you run into any trouble, don't hesitate to tell me, alright?" I frowned and wracked my brain up for what I was about to say next. He doesn't seem to be faking his responses, so he must really not be the one to leave the flower and chocolates in front of the door of the maid's quarters yesterday. "Keilah?" he said my name, causing me to snap out of my thoughts. "Y—yeah. The gift of friendship," I chuckled nervously. "I don't think I can thank you enough for

KEILAH After the intimate wedding with just a few people in the church, we were finally holding our grand wedding to which every person in the entire kingdom was invited. "You ready?" Enzo asked right by my side. I glanced at him and saw how dashing he looked in his suit. The formal ceremony just ended, so we were getting changed to join the banquet. AN"You look handsome," I said as I looked him up and down. "And you look beautiful," he said, standing beside me and wrapping his arm around my waist. We were currently on the balcony of our room, looking down at the people who were having fun. "I've never seen the kingdom so lively," I said, smiling as the sound of music pumped up. "Me too," he said. "I think they're genuinely happy that the two of us had already tied the knot." I smiled and nodded my head. "I'm glad that they accept me." KEILAHI couldn't stop looking at him. I knew that he was handsome based on what I had heard from other people. But nothing could have prepared me for the first time I saw him in the church. My vision is still pretty blurry, so I wasn't able to see him right away. But when I got to the altar and met with him face-to-face, I felt my breath get taken away. My eyes trailed down from his forehead down to his chin, ever-so-lightly tracing it with my index finger. Everything just feels so surreal right now. He chuckled as he felt the ticklish sensation on his skin. "Baby, how long are you going to be staring at me?" he asked in an amused tone. I smiled and laid down on top of him, having a much closer view of his face. "As much as I'd like," I cheekily said. "Why?" he asked, placing his arms underneath his head. "Am I handsome?""The most handsome," I muttered under my breath. "You're so handsome, baby."I watched his cheeks redden in embarrassment, causing me to point at him. "O

"You should save your nervousness for when the two of you get a divorce or something." I glared at him. "Douche," I said. "Just imagine marrying the girl of your dreams. Imagine marrying Skye." "Oh, shit," he cursed. "You're right. I'm nervous just thinking about it.” I rolled my eyes. "Don't bring up the topic about divorce again," I said. "Right," he said. "Sorry, man. "Where am I supposed to be right now?" "With her," I softly said, gesturing toward Summer, who still appeared to be in shock. "Why would I be with her?" he asked. I looked at him with disbelief and shrugged my shoulders. "I don't know—maybe because the two of you are mates or something," I said in a sarcastic tone. "And does that mean anything when you're the one I love?" "Of course, it means something—wait, what," I said when I finally deciphered his words. The crowd cheered while Matthew stepped closer to me. KEILAH I was afraid to open my eyes. It was two days left until the day of the wedding, and with each passing day, my hope gets shattered to pieces every time I opened my eyes. The doctor predicted that I would already have my vision at this time, but still, with no luck. I finally opened my eyes and held my breath, wanting to see how the light shone upon our room today. "Baby?" Enzo said when he noticed me fidgeting. "Any luck today?" he asked. I pursed my lips together and shook my head. Darkness. That's still all I could see. He let out a sigh before I felt him wrap his arms around me. "It's okay, baby," he said. "Give yourself more time, huh?" "How long?" I impatiently asked. "We'll get married in two days, Enzo," I said. "The wedding doesn't have to be your deadline, Keilah," he assured. "If you want, we can postpone the wedding and have it when you can already see—" "No," I quickly shook my head and wrapped my arms around his torso. Our wedding is alread

KEILAH I felt my heart drop. I already had my suspicions—back when I met Miles once again. He didn't deny it nor confirm it, so I was already preparing myself in case he had already met his mate. I tilted my head to the side in confusion. "Had?" I asked. "Yes," he muttered under his breath. "I had a mate. I hope you're not mad that I didn't tell you right away." Of course, I'm disappointed that he didn't tell me about his mate, but I was more curious about what he meant by he "had" a mate."Where is she right now?" I asked. He let out a deep sigh.
