Chapter 5

Finding his mate has never been Alpha Kieran's priority.

Not now, not for the next hundred years yet finding her now has ruined all his plans. She's very beautiful, no doubt but he doesn't want a mate.

As a matter of fact, he doesn't want to commit to someone just because it has been fated. Mates make a person weak, they're a great distraction, they cause pain.

He concludes that what happened this night was a mistake but like his beta, Quinn had said, she might be of use.

He replays everything.

How her beautiful tits fit into his hands, her succulent pink lips, plump and soft, her full tits. Her body is a magnet, he wasn't going to lie to himself.

He hasn't felt this way in a long time. Actually, he hasn't felt like this in his whole life.

To not want something yet to not be able to stay away from it. She hasn't been here for long and he was already acting weak. 

He wants to stay away from her but his wolf, Venus won't let him.

He simply can't get her out of his head and Venus isn't doing anything to help either. Her scent is intoxicating..

Vanilla and Fresh Daisies.

"Go to mate!".
"Let's mate her".
"Mark her".

He pushes Venus to the back of his head and tries to focus. He finally decides to go for a run to clear his head. But first, he walks into the dark kitchen to grab a cup of water.

Leaning against the wall, he thinks  to myself..

She's so young. You don't want her Kieran, she'll be your downfall.
"No she won't" ,Venus says quickly.

"Keep quiet, I'm trying to think" , he snaps at his wolf.

"You're a fool not to see she's right for us, she's everything we'll ever need, she'll make us complete", The wolf states .

"And she'll be our weakness, don't forget about mom", Kieran reminds him.
"She won't be like that", Venus defends quietly.

He sighs loudly as he rubs his hand over his face and puts the cup on the kitchen table without making noise.

"Mate!", Venus yells in his head.

Fuck, that smell is amazing, Kieran chanted it in his head.

Annaliese walks in and tries to look around the kitchen as Kieran eyes follow her movements.

Kieran close his eyes and tries to contain Venus in but it doesn't work.

Before he could fathom what was happening, Venus takes over and wraps Kieran's hands around her small waist.

"Mate".

Annaliese flinches but Venus holds her tight breathing in her scent.

"Mate is beautiful and sexy".
"Mate is scared".
"Why?".

Venus turns her around and Kieran is sure his glowing orange orbs scare her. She looks down without saying anything.

"My name is Venus, what is your name?".

"Annaliese", she replies almost whispering.

"A beautiful name for a beautiful girl".

"Stop making me touch her".

Kieran tries to fight for control while Venus tells her he would like to talk to her wolf sometime and Annaliese nods.

Kieran feels his hazel eyes come back as Venus gives him back control. He places his forehead on hers and sighs.

"I've met you for only twenty four hours and i can't think straight around you, you're driving me insane".

"Get some rest", he says to her then walks out.

Kieran mind links Quinn and tells him he's coming over. He shifts into his wolf then runs over to his house.

He knocks on the front door and Kim opens.

"Good evening Alpha", Kieran stares at him weirdly while Kim holds a neutral look. Slowly, a smile spreads on his face and he punches Kim's shoulder.

Then they laugh as Kieran walks in to meet his two other best friends, Quinn and Leon.

"Dude, cover that thing!", Quinn shouts while Leon throws him some shorts.
He puts on the shorts and sits on a couch.

"What are you doing here by this time, Kieran?", Leon asks him.

"He fought with his mate", Quinn replies. 
Kieran glare at him as he continues to explain.

"We went to the Clear waters pack at the southern border of the territory to ask for their allegiance, he found his mate there but he's been treating her like shit".

Leon looks at him and asks, "Is this ab-?".

"Yes, Leon. I don't want a mate for so many reasons".

"Firstly, she's blind and way too young so she's not my type. Secondly, what happened to my mom is enough for me to hate mates, all they bring is pain. Thirdly, i just don't want a mate because she'll ruin my plans of taking over the mundanes".

"But she's beautiful and pure like a white rose. I want to stay away from her but i can't, i can't help myself around her".

"Close your mouth Romeo, you're drooling", Kim says bringing Kieran out of his thoughts.

Kieran growls at him and Kim surrenders his hands up in the air, a smirk on his face.

"You told me she would be of use to us, what are your ideas?", he asks Quinn.

Quinn shrugs and replies, "I think you should just keep her around for now, something will come up".

Kieran's nails elongate as he scratches the fabric of the couch.

"What the fuck Quinn?, you stopped me from rejecting her and you have no idea what to do with her?!".

Quinn replies raising his voice.
"I saved you from doing something you'll regret for the rest of your life, you should be grateful".

"You can go ahead and reject her if you want to but you'll never be able to redeem yourself if you lose her".

Kieran could feel Venus coming to the surface as the colors of his eyes begin to change from hazel to orange.

He stands up and punches Quinn in the face as Leon and Kim come between them. He pushes them off him and walks into the bathroom to take a very cold bath. He stays in the bathroom for almost forty minutes.

"I'm sorry", Kieran apologizes to Quinn.
"It's okay", He replies immediately.

He goes straight to Quinn's room and tries to get some sleep, her lips being the last thing he sees in his mind before falling deep into sleep.

The next day, he goes back to the house to prepare for the day when he finds his mate in the kitchen, her right hand roaming the top shelf as the left one holds a plate filled with pancakes.

"What are you doing?".

She gasps, startled by his voice and making her drop the plate in her hand.

The plate shatters to the floor and she looks worried.
"I was looking for the chocolate syrup".

"You were looking?".

She bit her lip and nodded. 
"And how exactly do you intend to find it if you can't actually see it?".

"Marian rearranged everything, I know where each condiment is if it isn't moved. She must have moved it so I was looking around for it".

She is right. The chocolate syrup was opposite her on the kitchen counter.

She bends down begins to pick the pieces of the broken plate. 
"What are you doing this time?", he frowns at her.

"Picking up the pieces", she continues as she presses her palm against the floor checking for the small pieces and placing them in her other palm. 

"You're going to hurt yourself", something swells in him as he moves closer to her and empties her hand then dump the pieces in the wastebin.

Keiran picks up the broom and sweeps up the little pieces.

She's making me sweep, what in the world?, he groans inwardly.

Then, he gets her another plate and picks up her pancakes, placing them unto the plate before handing it to her. 

"Thank you", she says quietly.

He picks the syrup and helps her pour it on the pancakes. Then, he picks one of the pancakes and hold it to her lips. 

She bites into it and Kieran could feel his eyes darken.

He watches her lips as she munches on the snack. He could swear he just felt his heart leap and his dick twitch.

When she tries to grab the plate but misses and grabs his arm instead, he could feel every hair on his body stand.

He raises the pancake to her lips again and she bites into it deeper this time. 

Kieran watches the chocolate syrup drip down from the corner of her mouth before he wipes it with his thumb and sucks on it.

He wanted to taste her lips badly. Placing the plate down behind her, he places one hand on her waist and licks the syrup from her lips.

She freezes at the touch but he urges her on by sucking on her lower lip. He pulls her even closer when she opens her mouth.

He kisses her deeply as she wraps her arms around his neck. He could taste the chocolate in her mouth but there was something else.

It was like his mouth was familiarising itself with hers. She pants after he breaks the kiss. 

He stares at her as she licks her lips then she speaks up. 

"Can I have my pancakes back?".
