ALPHA LUCIUS'S POV

A satisfied smirk played on my lips as I scanned the list presented by Marcus. It was a confirmation of what I already knew – Vesta wouldn't be gracing the coronation with her presence. No name resembling hers, no "Lila" either, the alias my private investigator had unearthed.

"As expected," I murmured, a low rumble that echoed in the stillness of my chambers.

Marcus cleared his throat, his ever-present stoicism masking whatever thoughts swirled within him. "So, Your Majesty," he began, "what are your next steps?"

A low chuckle escaped my lips. "Next steps, Marcus? We postpone the coronation."

His eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Postpone? But… the invitations have already been sent, preparations are underway…"

"Precisely," I interrupted, a glint of amusement dancing in my eyes. "Imagine the disarray it will cause. The whispers, the speculation. It will be… entertaining."
