Malik's POVI stood amidst the carnage of my once great pack. The bodies of my fellow wolves littered the ground, and their blood stained the earth beneath me. I burned with intractable anger, as I took in the destruction around me, with the scent of death heavy in the air. I felt the weight of my pack members' absence, heavy on my shoulders, and the intense feeling of this groundbreaking loss seemed to be weighing my body, soul, and spirit down into an endless pit of grief. The blood of my fallen pack warriors still stains the earth, and the stench of death hangs in the air. I cannot even begin to process the horror of what just happened. My heart is heavy with grief, and my soul is consumed with a burning rage that threatens to tear me up.I was losing it, and I wasn't myself anymore. I fell to the ground, and I kept hitting my fists against the rigid earth repeatedly, till my hands got scarred. But I didn't stop, I was undeterred. I wanted to let out my angst one way or the other.
****Author's POV****King Zora Leondros, walked towards the large wooden table in the center of the room. He stood tall, proud, confident and regal, with his golden mane shining in the light of the torches.Alpha Menelik, the Alpha of Lakewood pack, also made his entrance into the room. Months ago, his father, Alpha Barak Maximoff kicked the bucket, and Menelik succeeded his father as the Alpha.Alpha Menelik decided to toll a path different from his father's. He decided against going all-out to wage war and hunt the werelions, instead he set a pact, and made peace with them, and they became his trusted ally.King Zora Leondros took a seat at the head of the table, and Alpha Menelik took the seat opposite him. The room was silent as they both looked each other in the eye, sizing each other up, with their eyes locked in a stare of determination. As they took their seats at the large wooden table in the center of the room, the air was thick with tension, and Zora, the werelion was the f
Zora's expression softened, and he held up a paw in a gesture of peace. "Please, Menelik. Don't leave. We need your help."Zora was ready to put his ego aside, to request Menelik's assistance. "Look I'm sorry, Menelik. You can not imagine how I'm sorry man, I'm showing you. I never intended to use any silver shit on you, but you forced my hands…" he pleaded. But Menelik remained defiant, he turned a deaf ear, and he kept walking out of Zora's meeting room.Zora shouted, from the other side of the room, "Ok, you'll get the thing tonight…"Menelik turned back at the instant. "What??? Seriously??""Yeah, I'm serious, you will get it if you are ready to continue with our partnership.""C-can we just get back to the table, now…""On one condition, I get it seven times, at any time of my choosing.""Okay, okay… whatever. Can we just get back to the table now?" Zora nodded in agreement, relieved that Menelik had agreed to help him in his time of need. Menelik gestured to his warriors with h
I ran my hands through their bodies, and I found out that they were feeling itchy because they had peed and pooped on their pants, and that was probably why they were crying... It was not too smelly, so I didn't quickly notice.Wow, it's a shame that pups can't speak articulately, because if they can, mothers will be able to quickly diagnose what's wrong with their pups, but because they are still infants, the only way they can communicate their discomforts is to cry, even at the slightest itch.I looked for a way to have them cleaned up, and they soon stopped crying."Are you ready, now?" Melinda quipped."Yeah, I am," I responded.I tucked my pups into my Kangaroo jackets, and I was set for the journey. As the morning sun began to rise higher in the sky, Melinda and I set out, in search of a safe place to stay at least for the time being. We threaded softly on the forest floor, and I kept my senses on high alert for any signs of danger. As we walked deep into the woods, I stole a gl
"Wow, so is this the waterfall?" I smiled, gazing directly at Melinda."Nah, it's a volcano…" Melinda scoffed, gazing at me with her brows furrowed. "... Can't you see the bustling water…""Oh, sorry, I was just carried away…" I beamed, jerking back to reality. I saw the waterfall in all its glory, with mist rising up from the base and rainbows dancing in the spray, and I was carried away. For a second I honestly thought there was another waterfall somewhere around here.'You see… you're the one that has been somewhat craggy lately.' Lusee interjected. I just scoffed at her remark, and I wouldn't even reply to her this time.Melinda passed the pups to me, and she completely pulled off the clothes that served as a covering over her skin. She stripped to her bare butts, and she was now stark naked. I could see her in all her glory, and my mouth involuntarily made an 'O' shape, but I closed it before Melinda could see the awe-mazement on my face. She had a well-defined butt, and her bi
The night was dark and the air was thick with the scent of smoke and death. The moon was casting a pale light over the clearing where Melinda and I sat, just outside the cave. We had built a fire in the center of the clearing to keep ourselves warm.Melinda and I sat by the fire, with the glow illuminating our faces. The forest was quiet, and the only sounds I was hearing were the crackling of the fire and the occasional hoot of an owl in the distance.I huddled close to the fire, and the pain of losing Santan, my pup, and even the whole of the Mountain Dew pack to that sinister attack, was gnawing at my heart, making me ache with sadness. Damn, we didn't even make efforts to bury them, laying them on their bare backs in a sacred forest as they do at the Lakewood pack.It had only been a few hours since I held my little one in my arms, and now I would never get the chance to do so again.Melinda's eyes were dark and full of pain as she stared into the flames. I still couldn't wrap my
"So, that's all I can remember for now," Melinda stated."Wow, you've said a lot." I said, tilting my head back, and I was lost in thoughts, and after some seconds, I said, "...but you say the white fraternity is no more…""Yeah," Melinda responded."But is there any chance that you know, my pups can be protected from the evils of the wild, and these gruesome black fraternity folks in particular… by the white fraternity.""Hmmm." Melinda breathed a heavy sigh. "B-but while I'm still with you, be rest assured that I'll always do my best to protect us… but, but summoning a higher power to protect us at all times, would be the best and the wise thing to do because my power and knowledge are limited…""You mean, summoning the Angel of Light to protect us?" I quipped, with my eyes wide open."Yeah. But I don't think that is gonna be possible, because since he left the white fraternity, he vowed never to come back, but I'll give it a try anyway.""Oh." I heaved a heavy sigh.*****I watched
"Now, you're safe, and it seems you have a little reunion to do. So, I'll be leaving you for now." The Angel of Light beamed.Melinda nodded, her eyes shining with fierce determination. "We understand," she said. "Thank you so much."The Angel of Light nodded, and then disappeared in a burst of light, leaving Melinda and I standing alone in the circle. I wasn't listening to what the Angel was saying at all, I was just enraptured in Malik's presence, and I fixed my gaze on him, unwaveringly. As soon as the Angel left, I burst out, booming, "A'int that the voice of the dead??"Malik came a little bit closer, and he voiced out with a deep low growl, "Calista.""Is it really you?" I asked, my voice shaking with emotion.Malik nodded, his gray eyes piercing through my soul even in the darkness. "Yes, it is me," he said. "What?" I exclaimed. I was amazed that he was still alive. I ran towards him at the instant and embraced him. A well of emotion sprang up in me, and I felt for the lives
