Raven, Alexandre and Bradford works through the night. The spell was completed and Bradford started to shift towards seeking shelter for the day. “I have a place for you to rest. Come.” Alexandre put the vials away in the cupboard and turned to walk out, “Raven, it would be best if you came to this destination with us. You may end up needing it.”

Raven followed behind draping her cape over her shoulders and lifting the hood over her head. Everything she ever heard about the Bitten was dark and dangerous. The hard reality was her mama hid half of who she was from her. And now she had fears of herself becoming something that would have to be put down like a lame donkey. “Raven, you can choose to be better. I have given you all the knowledge I could gather for our library to help you know yourself as a caster and a right powerful one at that. I’ve seen how you’ve kept the charms strong at home and the way the garden thrives. The yields have kept the creatures strong. I believe you have

The gates were tall, wrought iron, and imposing. Raven and Alexandre walked through the gates looking all around them. Both of them terrified of what may be fall upon them in this new place and this old place, they stepped forward, determined to meet the elder Lord head on. Walking up the path towards the front door Alexandra looked at her daughter and said. “ we are already at the point of no return. If you take me in, they may take it easy on you. After all, you didn’t make the choice to leave, you were spirited away and then kept there without your knowledge of your family.” “Mama, I would never do that to you. I’m gonna go in here with you in front of me as the leader you have always been for me. I am sure they will take mercy upon you because of such a wonderful job you have done with me. I may be a natural caster and I may be born of the bitten, but what I am not is a traitor. Now let’s go in here together and make our grand return.” The ladies continued through the door. The

Raven took her mama’s hand and led her to the top of the table. Two chairs and place settings were aside the Elder Lord. He stood as did everyone else. The Ladies took their seat. A feast sat before them of cooked whole hogs, poultry roasted, bread loaves, cooked potatoes, fresh cherry tomatoes, fruits and the fanciest desserts. They all drank and began to fill their plates with food. The hall was full of laughter and talking. Raven observed the onlookers. Alexandre kept her guard up. Making eye contact occasionally, they spoke secretly about which ones had dark auras and could be enemies of them. A lady with black hair swept to a side bun, red hat with black lace over her face sat in her seat. Her long fingers and polished stiletto nails, wrapped around a goblet of blood she sipped on with her big red lips. Her pale breasts heaved out of the corset she wore and red and black satin wrapped around her tight voluptuous figure. Her dark eyes peered at Raven and Alexandre. Suddenly her th

Bastion led the way back out of the room down the prisoner quarters, through the dungeon and up the dank stairs. They came out from behind the portrait of his father and back into the hallway at the top of the stairs. They went to the other side of them and up to the attic. These stairs were dusty but well lit with torches along the sides. At the top of the stairs there was a hall with a great large window. Through the blowing sheers, you could see the shadow of iron bars. This too appeared to be a prison. Bastion went to the third door and unlocked it with a massive skeleton key. It creaked open slowly as he gently pushed it. “Ingrid? I have someone you may want to see.” A woman adorning a dressing gown slowly turned her head with wide eyes as she smelled them coming from the stairwell. “Is it really you?” Alexandre ran to her and knelt at her lap. Tears flowed from her eyes as she never thought she’d see her friend again. “I have often wondered what happened to you. I tried to

The three of them stood in front of the whole procession of people. Three thrones now sat on the riser. The two largest chairs were the Elder Lord’s and his Queen’s. The last large chair sat to the right of the Queen’s throne and that one was Raven’s. The room was filed to the brim with the Bitten, their people, different sorts of creatures and guests of highborns in the Clan. Every guest made their introductions and offerings to the Queen and their Princess. Flowers, casks of wines, trunks filled with fine dresses, small chests filled with gold and gemstones and much more laid at their feet. After each attendee made their introduction, they took their leave. The hall seemed so much larger now that it was emptied. “You were well received. I’ll have your gifts taken to your rooms. There’s a suite that has adjoining rooms I had them prepare for you Ladies and the great room has a terrific view in there. I trust you will need some rest after your great journey and big day.” Bastion be

Bradford looked all around for traces of where they may have gone. “The Elder Lord is going to kill me. If I go back to their cabin I’ll be under cover for now. I have to figure out what to do next.” He left the hide away and went back to the cabin. Stepping inside the cabin, he looked around at the left out herbs. “I can do this. I can make this myself. I watched her. I can make this myself and return! How lucky I am to have learned it from its creator.” Herbs and bubbling cauldrons sat littering the counter and the table. He couldn’t remember the exact measurements so he made them in all combinations. He reached for more herbs and found them depleted. “Well, shit. I’m not sure where the garden is but maybe the Stag will help.” Bradford walked outside and spoke to the Stag through their telepathic connection. “I need your help. I need the special garden to make this potion. I cannot return without it.” The tree line shuffled as the Great Stag came out of it. “I see they left in

Bradford was always a little late to rise until the sun dipped behind the horizon. Seeing the sunlight made him sad. He wondered what a warm summer day would feel like, jumping naked into the lake for a cooling swim. Maybe one day, he would be able to make that happen. Walking back over to the herbs he realized the cauldron had cooled. “Damn it. This is gonna take an hour to get going again.” He looked around and played back the steps Alexandre took to prepare the first round. “I need these herbs, this cauldron, these oils and blood. Oh no, did I need her blood or would any blood do? Well it’s too late to get hers. I hope mine works.” Bradford spoke the secret spell careful to annunciate the spell exactly how Alexandre had. The gentle green smoke begin to rise, looking at the spell objectively if he does the same things, in the same order, with the same ingredients, the spell should work, right? Bradford watched as bubbles started forming in the liquid, and the herbs started roll

  • The Bitten and the Born   The Great Library

Raven stepped into the library, looking at the mounds and mounds and stacks and shelves of books all around her. She could not remember one time ever seeing a library as boundless as this one. She walked alongside the stacks and started reading the types of books that were included in this library. She found there were books of all the creatures in the land. There were books about caster magic, human magic, the magic animals, the bitten, the history of the bitten and many many many other books. She took an interest in a thick, black, leather book, pulling it off of the shelf she noticed the dust being disturbed as the large book slid off of its place and her hands. Dust in the air as she walked away. She found a big leather comfortable chair next to an oil lamp that was already lit. Sitting down in this chair, dust roast from it as well, creating a small dust cloud around her. She coughed a bit while waving the dust away from her. Opening the book the first page page was a power sigi

Bastian took a deep breath and sat down in the couch across from her. He looked at her eyes as the fire bounced off the sides of them, and only made her green eyes more intense. Bastion clasped his hands and leaned over his knees. “You understand how much pressure we were under?” “ I recall.” Alexandre’s gaze was steady and calculated. She was watching his every move and micro expression. “When Bradford was born, there was a great uproar as he was born with a veil. as you know, only great casters are born with veils. Your ladies and waiting had one job and that was to keep you calm while I had the time to make sure that this child would be viable. The elders of the clan had told me that any child born that would not be powerful and viable would be an embarrassment to the clan, and therefore must be sacrificed to the healing waters. I wanted to do everything in my power to make sure that our children would never meet that end. So there was a time I hid Bradford away. My goal was to

Margaret’s long ringlets danced in the wind as the moon flashed off of her glass like eyes. Marble skin seemed to allow light to pass through it. Her dress moved and swayed with each gust of wind. The sailors whispered amongst themselves, “Tis mighty bad luv to have a woman aboard.” “That’s not the worst thing aboard, men. You’d better mind your tongues for no whispered thing is hidden here.” The captain scolded the men and tipped his hat to the Lady. Margaret watched as the Captain was keen on what she was. His biggest worry was how many of them would make port before the destination had been reached. Margaret moved past piles of ropes and sails hoisted holding the wind to move them along quickly. She imagined she could blow into them to hasten their journey. Margaret walked over to the edge of the

Margaret felt a pain deep inside her soul. “How could he do this to me?” Tiny streams of bloody tears began to fall from her eyes like waterfalls. Suddenly her sleeping place wasn’t hers alone. She tensed up as the profound strength of her paramour exposed his intentions to her. Reaching down and touching her cheek, he spoke, “I have many wives. They will be like sisters to you. The bond you will feel with them will be similar to the blood bond you will feel with me now.” “Vlad Tepes was my name. Most call me by some other formidable names. I am the Walachian Prince. Moon Goddess Priestess knew that she would have to get back to the party. Taking this deal meant she would forever have the herbs that she needed to protect her Pack. She would be able to fend off illness and magical attacks. The benefits of this were endless and she had prayed to the Moon Goddess many times about this. It was only now that Raven was at full strength that she worried regular herbs would not be enough to protect her. The Alpha King would likely rip anyone to shreds that contribute to Raven’s death or illness. And pups! Who knows what kind of trials a hybrid high born pure line would come. “I am coming. Meet me in the clearing. I bring good tidings” The Priestess linked to Beta Chance. She turned and grabbed the tea she had made to make Raven’s body open to pregnancy. She would bathe her in these tea leaves and oils anointed for their union. While she put her vials into her robe she felt Prince Vlad’s vial. Pulling it out she unlocked a box inside of the cupboard.

This is improper!” She growled back. “This is the only way I could get you back in time to make sail before the sun rises. We have to go before your father and confirm this union.” The mans raspy voice sent chills down her spine. “Make sail? You have got to be kidding. I’m not leaving home. I am a part of a powerful family and they will not simply go on without at least looking for me.” Margaret warned. “Believe me, I have accounted for that. Now, stop struggling. She tied the strings to keep it closed and Alpha Xander picked up the Alpha King’s robe and placed it on his shoulders. He slid his hands into the robe and Raven turned around and tied his strings. “Shall we go and put on our party clothes, my love?” Raven asked. “Yes, my love, we shall. Alpha Xander has our items laid out in the Alpha den. Let us go there as the guests go begin the party.” Alpha Xander spoke to the guests, “All right, all right. • The Bitten and the Born   The Mating Ceremony

Alpha King Sebastian and Queen Raven sat at the wedding table and looked across the hall at all of the territories that had come together. Many prior to this day hadn’t been in the same room together for far too long. This was the hope of this union, that all of them could be united under one banner and be a community they could all trade and grow with. They wanted the days of neighboring packs fighting and the war between the Bitten and the Lycans to be ended. Alpha King looked at his beloved Mate sitting beside him and heard her thoughts, “Yes, my love, I too, think it is time for us to consummate this union. Would you be ready to start the run?” Queen Raven smirked and teased, “I thought you’d never ask.” She stood and kissed his smidge on his forehead and took her leave to the entrance of the courtyard that led into the enchanted forrest. She felt something cold in her stomach. Her eyes scanned the guests and looked towards the shadows in the back. Something was amiss, but it would have to wait. This union had to be completed for all to see and nothing could stop it. “I have performed the sacred union of the two souls in the enchanted pool of ancestors. Upon their heads adorns the ancient wedding crowns that bound many Kings and Queens before these times. They have taken their vows wholeheartedly, as is evident in their mating stains. Now they will take their wedding vows here for all of you to see.” She turned to the Alpha King and spoke, “To whom do you give yourself to today, Alpha King Sebastian?” He looked into his beloved’s eyes and felt warmed emanating from them. “I give myself to Raven the hybrid Queen all my years and a

Ashley crept into the Alpha den to check on Margaret. She has been so patient with her. Lycans require so much rest and replenishment to grow pups. The Bitten can’t understand this as they can’t procreate. The confusion with her kind of this mating must be hard for her to translate to the new world that she is existing in. Ashley felt a tingle of pain for the amount of callous emotion she has shown this woman. Her thoughts spanned to a place where she once felt like she didn’t have a mate. Not a true mate. Over and over she had remembered her thoughts left her to believe that she had to become something that didn’t need love to survive. There’s no understanding that now that she has a future to look at; there is no way that she can just abandon the woman who she had seen to help her beloved through his trials and tribulations to come to be the Mate that she has come to know today. Watching her delicate figure sleep, she understood that this creature didn’t ask for the life that she

Kona looked around and saw an area just past these houses in the edge of the forest. She tip toed back to that area and led them to the opening in the ground. “It’s a tunnel.
