Raven stepped into the library, looking at the mounds and mounds and stacks and shelves of books all around her. She could not remember one time ever seeing a library as boundless as this one. She walked alongside the stacks and started reading the types of books that were included in this library. She found there were books of all the creatures in the land. There were books about caster magic, human magic, the magic animals, the bitten, the history of the bitten and many many many other books. She took an interest in a thick, black, leather book, pulling it off of the shelf she noticed the dust being disturbed as the large book slid off of its place and her hands. Dust in the air as she walked away. She found a big leather comfortable chair next to an oil lamp that was already lit. Sitting down in this chair, dust roast from it as well, creating a small dust cloud around her. She coughed a bit while waving the dust away from her. Opening the book the first page page was a power sigi
Bastian took a deep breath and sat down in the couch across from her. He looked at her eyes as the fire bounced off the sides of them, and only made her green eyes more intense. Bastion clasped his hands and leaned over his knees. “You understand how much pressure we were under?” “ I recall.” Alexandre’s gaze was steady and calculated. She was watching his every move and micro expression. “When Bradford was born, there was a great uproar as he was born with a veil. as you know, only great casters are born with veils. Your ladies and waiting had one job and that was to keep you calm while I had the time to make sure that this child would be viable. The elders of the clan had told me that any child born that would not be powerful and viable would be an embarrassment to the clan, and therefore must be sacrificed to the healing waters. I wanted to do everything in my power to make sure that our children would never meet that end. So there was a time I hid Bradford away. My goal was to
Bradford bound and leapt attempting to get to the castle before night fall came again. Only a path of broken branches and blurred footsteps were left behind him. His fear was met with excitement. He had known his father to be a great man but also one of discipline. He had taken great efforts not to reveal himself to his mother and his sister. Even when he gave his sister some of his blood to keep her going, he took great attempts to hide his identity while she was reading his thoughts. He had been tested by the great tribunal, many times to protect himself from this casters gift. As far as his mother, he was frustrated that she did not at once recognize him. His excitement, with seeing her was only met with his sadness of all the time that he had missed being next to her and learning from her. And seeing how Raven had grown in her magic and skills, he couldn’t help but be selfish and wonder how his mother could have helped him. Running through the woods, he came to the edge. He sto
Margaret was so excited she ran with him through the halls. The few people who saw them shook their heads. “Was he wearing the crest?” “Why was he running with that girl?” “She’s the daughter of a lowborn lord. He’s the outcast son of another lord. They’re perfect for each other.” “Shhhh! We don’t notice or speak here,” the head Matron of the Cleaning Service told them all. They continued quietly not daring to erupt her anger. Stopping at his doors, she swayed with anticipation. “Open it! Go in!” He laughed and nodded towards the door, “My room.” A big smile covered his jaw and he swung open the doors. Bridget was in there like a blur lighting the candles and fire, dusting out the corners and curtains. She opened the windows and the sheers flew into the wind. His belongings were already there and Bridget beamed, “Prince Bradford.” She bowed to him with a deep curtsy. “Your apartments, Sir” as she winked at him. Bradford blushed and tan up and hugged her. “When did you know he was
The royal family took to getting more familiar with one another. Margaret found her place among them and the attendees were left to their own devices and to their own devices they went. “Lords I’m just suggesting we take a vote and decide if this is a legit claim to the throne.” Mr Banderman spoke up. The other elders head nodded or shook. “Respectfully, there is a process and we will follow it.” Mr Lavenos spoke up, “The Elder Lord just introduced two possible heirs that are both powerful and hybrids. We knew there was a reason he chose the Casters daughter. This is it! He wants to strengthen the Clan and if she is the Coming Sun we will have no time of day we are not safe.” “Gentlemen you are all missing the point. Why is he introducing them now? Why first his daughter with his long lost wife and then his son. A son, may I add, we already knew existed and have fought beside, never knowing he was the heir to the throne.” A gentleman with a tall top hat on, leaned against the wall
The day had come when the Ladies would be introduced to their hand maidens. There would be five for the ladies, two young men for the young Prince and one additional special Lady to assist Raven. Pulling at their skirts and adjusting their clothes, the two men and six ladies waiting anxiously in the servants halls to be brought to their introductions. The male attendants were taken up first. “Prince Bradford, these two men will be attending to your needs. Your laundry, your mess, baths, ball preparation and anything else you need. They will be here all hours of the day and will be in Their own shared quarters just a floor down. This pulley will ring a bell in their room.” The butler bowed and waved his arm toward the men. “You look strong, but are you intelligent?” The guys looked at each other puzzled, “My Lord?” “Will I have to tell you every move to make or will you anticipate them as you learn me? I’m not a fussy man and I’m not accustomed to the life of a royal. I will expe
As they went to the now longer head of the table, they found people waiting to pull back their chairs. They took their respective places as in the throne room, stepped in front of their chairs in unison. The people pushed their chairs in simultaneously. They lowered into their chairs together. It was a sight to behold! They moved as one. How connected they must be! People shuddered in fear of the way the attendees were looking at their Royal Family. Thoughts jolted from one mind to the next, “What kind of potential does this Royal Line contain?!” “What if this blows up in all our faces?” “My heart, they’re beautiful!” Raven looked at them all and smiled. She thought of how they resembled her forrest friends and their temperaments. Alexandre looked upon them and stayed perfectly poised. Bradford looked at them and specifically wanted to see the expressions of his old posh acquaintances. And Bastion looked over the room entirely. His wife was the exotic powerful intoxicating woman he
As the banquet came to a close, several of the military leaders were present. Bastion called for them all to meet in the business suite. As they filed into the room their weapons were placed on the rack. Bastion planned to nip this vile bud from the vine. “Thank you all for coming. Please come in. Have a glass of blood and take your seats. We have much to discuss.” The men all came in chattering amongst themselves about their battles and their fronts they held. “We’ve held the Lycans off up until the enchanted forrest and its water.” “We have kept the trade lines clear of bandits. There’s hasn’t been an incident in a long while now.” “Yes, but the neighboring clan has been making their way towards our forrest borders and I fear they have foul intentions,” one of the officers mentioned. “All right. Meeting is in session. We have all been trying to figure out what we can do in order to make things more peaceful between the clans. The one thing we have in common, the Lycans, has bec
Margaret went up to the deck to think more clearly however that was not to be. Vlad himself rarely allowed anyone to witness him in his full moon glory. What a sight she was to behold. Margaret’s long ringlets danced in the wind as the moon flashed off of her glass like eyes. Marble skin seemed to allow light to pass through it. Her dress moved and swayed with each gust of wind. The sailors whispered amongst themselves, “Tis mighty bad luv to have a woman aboard.” “That’s not the worst thing aboard, men. You’d better mind your tongues for no whispered thing is hidden here.” The captain scolded the men and tipped his hat to the Lady. Margaret watched as the Captain was keen on what she was. His biggest worry was how many of them would make port before the destination had been reached. Margaret moved past piles of ropes and sails hoisted holding the wind to move them along quickly. She imagined she could blow into them to hasten their journey. Margaret walked over to the edge of the
Margaret felt the waves sloshing back and forth as she laid in her dark space. Waves sounded like thunder as she imagined what this marriage was to provide to her life. Her mind riddled with memories of Bradford and her new founded family. Her father traded her. Margaret felt a pain deep inside her soul. “How could he do this to me?” Tiny streams of bloody tears began to fall from her eyes like waterfalls. Suddenly her sleeping place wasn’t hers alone. She tensed up as the profound strength of her paramour exposed his intentions to her. Reaching down and touching her cheek, he spoke, “I have many wives. They will be like sisters to you. The bond you will feel with them will be similar to the blood bond you will feel with me now.” “Vlad Tepes was my name. Most call me by some other formidable names. I am the Walachian Prince. My enemies know no mercy. I am not as old as some of the creatures you know. I am the father of all our kind. It’s been hundreds of years longer than I’ve al
Moon Goddess Priestess knew that she would have to get back to the party. Taking this deal meant she would forever have the herbs that she needed to protect her Pack. She would be able to fend off illness and magical attacks. The benefits of this were endless and she had prayed to the Moon Goddess many times about this. It was only now that Raven was at full strength that she worried regular herbs would not be enough to protect her. The Alpha King would likely rip anyone to shreds that contribute to Raven’s death or illness. And pups! Who knows what kind of trials a hybrid high born pure line would come. “I am coming. Meet me in the clearing. I bring good tidings” The Priestess linked to Beta Chance. She turned and grabbed the tea she had made to make Raven’s body open to pregnancy. She would bathe her in these tea leaves and oils anointed for their union. While she put her vials into her robe she felt Prince Vlad’s vial. Pulling it out she unlocked a box inside of the cupboard.
“Stop struggling. I am much older than you. I wish to take you back to your father. After, of course, you agree to marry me and leave this place. I need you in my world.” The sinister raspy voice ordered Margaret. “You definitely have a way of catching a lady’s eye. How could you just abduct me and then demand my hand. This is improper!” She growled back. “This is the only way I could get you back in time to make sail before the sun rises. We have to go before your father and confirm this union.” The mans raspy voice sent chills down her spine. “Make sail? You have got to be kidding. I’m not leaving home. I am a part of a powerful family and they will not simply go on without at least looking for me.” Margaret warned. “Believe me, I have accounted for that. Now, stop struggling. We have a wedding to attend…Ours.” He pulled her shoulders along with such speed and might, even Margaret had some difficulty keeping pace with him. A strong knock on her father’s door led to the sou
As Alpha King Sebastian and Queen Luna Raven returned to their robes they walked naked and hand and hand up to the courtyard. Alpha King stood in front of his Queen Luna and picked up her robe. She turned her back to the attendees who were whistling and cheering for them. “I didn’t realize they would all hear us.” She blushed and he placed her robe onto her shoulders. She tied the strings to keep it closed and Alpha Xander picked up the Alpha King’s robe and placed it on his shoulders. He slid his hands into the robe and Raven turned around and tied his strings. “Shall we go and put on our party clothes, my love?” Raven asked. “Yes, my love, we shall. Alpha Xander has our items laid out in the Alpha den. Let us go there as the guests go begin the party.” Alpha Xander spoke to the guests, “All right, all right. Let us go to prepare the way for the newlyweds to be received. Luna Avery will take them to prepare and we will all go and get the party started. Also…the first one to get the
Alpha King Sebastian and Queen Raven sat at the wedding table and looked across the hall at all of the territories that had come together. Many prior to this day hadn’t been in the same room together for far too long. This was the hope of this union, that all of them could be united under one banner and be a community they could all trade and grow with. They wanted the days of neighboring packs fighting and the war between the Bitten and the Lycans to be ended. Alpha King looked at his beloved Mate sitting beside him and heard her thoughts, “Yes, my love, I too, think it is time for us to consummate this union. Would you be ready to start the run?” Queen Raven smirked and teased, “I thought you’d never ask.” She stood and kissed his smidge on his forehead and took her leave to the entrance of the courtyard that led into the enchanted forrest. Alpha King stood once again and address the wedding reception guests, “The time for the Mating Ceremony has come. We leave now to join as o
Queen Raven and Alpha King Sebastian took their places in front of the guests of the realm. The Moon Goddess Priestess stood at the center of them looking over the entire wedding attendees. She felt something cold in her stomach. Her eyes scanned the guests and looked towards the shadows in the back. Something was amiss, but it would have to wait. This union had to be completed for all to see and nothing could stop it. “I have performed the sacred union of the two souls in the enchanted pool of ancestors. Upon their heads adorns the ancient wedding crowns that bound many Kings and Queens before these times. They have taken their vows wholeheartedly, as is evident in their mating stains. Now they will take their wedding vows here for all of you to see.” She turned to the Alpha King and spoke, “To whom do you give yourself to today, Alpha King Sebastian?” He looked into his beloved’s eyes and felt warmed emanating from them. “I give myself to Raven the hybrid Queen all my years and a
Ashley crept into the Alpha den to check on Margaret. She has been so patient with her. Lycans require so much rest and replenishment to grow pups. The Bitten can’t understand this as they can’t procreate. The confusion with her kind of this mating must be hard for her to translate to the new world that she is existing in. Ashley felt a tingle of pain for the amount of callous emotion she has shown this woman. Her thoughts spanned to a place where she once felt like she didn’t have a mate. Not a true mate. Over and over she had remembered her thoughts left her to believe that she had to become something that didn’t need love to survive. There’s no understanding that now that she has a future to look at; there is no way that she can just abandon the woman who she had seen to help her beloved through his trials and tribulations to come to be the Mate that she has come to know today. Watching her delicate figure sleep, she understood that this creature didn’t ask for the life that she
The four of the Alpha King’s pack that had entered the territory were now edging around the pack houses and looking for any obvious tales of where the hidden den could be. Avery Luna’s scent was everywhere here. She was the one who trained their own warriors right here in the courtyard. Kona looked around and saw an area just past these houses in the edge of the forest. She tip toed back to that area and led them to the opening in the ground. “It’s a tunnel. It’s got to be the right place. Stay close and keep your senses about you.” Ducking down into the tunnel, they were unaware that the Alpha Xander had trips that let him know when someone entered his tunnels. Alpha Xander’s ears perked up and he mind linked to Luna Avery, “Beloved, are you back? I don’t smell you but someone just entered our secret tunnels. I’m going to check this out.” He spoke to Beta Chance, “Go to the tunnels. Someone is in them.”“Alpha,” as he bowed he ran out the side. Beta had a direct shot to the entra
