"Nothing comes without a price, Ms Lopez." He said in a low voice, flashing her a cocky grin.
"Are you willing to do anything to get the lead role?" "Yes, I am." Mia hoped he wouldn't say the words she had been familiar with over the years. She chewed on her bottom lips nervously, and watched as the man leaned back on his plush chair, and Mia could feel his hungry gaze feeding on her delicate curves. "Just one night with me.. Mia Lopez." He dropped the words she had been scared of, and her head banged. Not again! "A night with you?" she spat, disgusted. "You're sick!" The man's annoying laughter filled her ears, and she grabbed her bag, feeling suffocated in his office. After trying so hard to show him what she got during the audition, this was all he could ask for, just like others. "This is a lifetime opportunity. You won't want to miss it." Mia glared at the slightly older man and he pushed a written piece of note to her. Her eyes darted to the note and the steamy coffee on his desk. "Sure, I won't want to miss this opportunity, Mr... Martinez." That was the name his assistant had called him earlier. However, she picked up the piece of note, and shredded it to pieces. "What the..." His eyes flashed with anger and his lips pursed in a thin line. "Bitch!" Bitch? Mia lost it. She threw her leg over the table and grabbed his collar forcefully. "I am not some whore you can mess with, you dirty pig!" "Let me go!" he grunted, struggling with her grip, but Mia wasn't done yet. Picking up the cup of coffee, she emptied the hot liquid on his face and Mr Martinez let out a loud scream, piercing the walls of his spacious office. She pushed him off when his assistant ran in, and she stormed out of his office hurriedly. Just when she thought this time will be different. "Shit!" she cursed, rage ripping through her body. She hurried into an exclusive elevator, ignoring the warning that read, "Out of Limits". Mia tapped her feet impatiently, desperate to leave here as soon as possible. Her mind raced over all that happened. X-World Entertainment has always been her dream over the years and no one could explain how excited she was, when she walked in through the large glassy door for this audition. She had felt like one of her favorite celebrity, Harper Hernandez. The image of her appearing on TV and receiving the award for the best actress of the year had played in her head. She wanted to make her sick mother proud. Her hopes of paying for her mother's surgery bills had been high but now, her dreams were shattered once again. The elevator dinged open and Mia bumped into a hard wall, but there was no wall. Wincing in pain and frustration, she slammed her fists on the hard and sturdy chest of the masculine figure. "Watch where you're going!" she snapped, but he didn't bulge. Immediately sensing the powerful aura around him, Mia raised her hazel eyes to meet a pair of piercing grey eyes boring into hers. "You trespassed," his deep voice made her shiver. "Excuse me?" "How dare you?" He looked at her with disdain and his voice laced with arrogance. Mia twitched her lips, recognizing the CEO of X-World Entertainment, Xavier Singh. Heir of the Singh family, the wealthiest in California. "How dare you bump into me?" Mia blurted, surprised at her own outburst. His blank eyes flickered with something unreadable, then with a snap of his long and slender fingers, men in suits advanced toward Mia, grabbing hold of her. "Take her away." "Who the hell do you think you are? Let go of me!" Mia shrieked, struggling to wriggle out of their strong grip. With her shrill voice piercing the air and attracting stares, the bodyguards threw Mia out of the huge, magnificent building. Mia cursed and yelled, scrambling to pick her bag and other contents strewn on the floor. Her cheeks flushed in embarrassment, as she glanced around. All attention fixed on her and she could hear the murmurs and giggles. "What are y'all looking at?" she barked, and they diverted their gazes away from her. Mia sighed exasperatedly and ruffled her disheveled chestnut brown hair. Hastening her steps, she flagged down a taxi. "How can he be so mean?" She bit her lips, trying to fight back her tears. She would never shed a tear for assholes like Xavier Singh and Mr Martinez. * The taxi stopped in front of her house and Mia paid the driver, taking slow steps into the house. Her eyes locked with her mother's when she pushed the door open. "Mia." "Mom." She quickened her steps, wrapping her arms around her mother in a tight embrace. "What happened to you?" "I guess this didn't go well," Tammy said from the couch, watching Mrs Lopez caress Mia's hair fondly. "He wanted to sleep with me." Mia sat down beside Tammy, "And I can't.." her voice croaked and Tammy pulled her sister into a hug. "It's okay, big sis." "Why aren't you in school, Tammy?" "Mom had a seizure, I had to stay with her." Tammy said and Mia sighed softly, looking up at her mother. "It wasn't serious, Mia. I'm fine." Mrs Lopez assured her, entering into the kitchen. "Mom isn't fine!" Tammy cut in. "And she's running out of medication." Mia bit her lips hard, and stood up. "Where are you going?" Mrs Lopez walked out of the kitchen, her voice soft and worried. "I'll be back, mom. Tammy, stay with her." Tammy nodded, and Mia walked out, slamming the door behind her. * Xavier's sharp jawline hardened for the umpteenth time. "What did you find about her?" "She was part of the selected list for the audition, Sir." Silas said, dropping a file in front of his boss. "L-Galaxy Entertainment released a movie, just the same date as ours." Xavier's lips curled into a dark smirk. What was in that fucking head of Lucas? His brother will always be his shadow in everything, no matter how hard he tries. "Get me my coffee." "Yes, Sir." Silas bowed, and strutted out of the office. Xavier leaned back on his chair and shut his eyes, his mind blank. Then, her fierce words replayed in his mind. "Who the hell do you think you are?" Feisty. He thought. His eyes fluttered open when his phone rang and his gaze darkened. "Father," he breathed out. "Come to the mansion, tomorrow." Mateo Singh's voice boomed and Xavier's brow furrowed. Why does his father want to see him?Isabella's cheeks flushed in embarrassment as she bit her tongue hard. She was just rude to Jayden Ruiz right now. Who'd think this handsome figure with a prominent background will even notice her? And yet, he remembered her name. She thought it was some random guy who wanted to make a pass at her. "It's Moore," she corrected him softly. "Oh," Jayden chuckled dryly and stood up, "I should get going to avoid petty chats." He emphasized on the word 'petty chats' and Isabella gulped, standing up too. "Mr Ruiz, I'm truly sorry. I.. I was just going through some moments and..." "I understand," he interrupted her, giving her a slight smile before turning back and walking away. 'Gosh! How can I be so stupid?' Bella screamed in her head, tears almost almost trickling down her eyes as she fell down heavily on her chair. Jayden put his face cap back on to avoid recognition. When he got to Silas, his blue eyes were cold, "Let's go, Silas." He thought she'll be a nice girl, but she got
[L- Galaxy Entertainment]Lucas' phone vibrated and he picked it up to see Priscilla calling. Creasing his brows slightly, he answered, "What's the problem, Priscilla?""Mr Singh," Priscilla paused, unsure of how to explain Mitchell's situation. "Mrs Singh is in an inconvenient position and will be unable to meet up her schedule today.""What inconvenient position?" Lucas questioned, his tone on an edge. "She is unwell.""Get a doctor over to her and makes sure she doesn't miss her shoot." Lucas said sternly, leaving no room for argument before ending the call.He knew nothing was wrong with Mitchell. How rebellious has she become recently. Before he could do something else, a message popped in, from Harper. "Lucas, I need your help. Can we see?"A slow smirk formed on his lips as his eyes glinted. He sure knew how to make Harper come back to him no matter what. Now he's going to use her to further his plans.**Some hours later, in a large room with multiple screens attached to the
[Singh's mansion] Michelle's eyes closed as the maids applied her facial mask on her face. She exhaled softly, allowing her chest to fall and rise in deep breaths. This was soothing enough, at least, it'll take her mind away from the world. A knock sounded on the door and one of the maids opened it to reveal her manager, Priscilla. "Mitchelle, your shoot is in an hour and you're not ready yet." "I'm not going, cancel it," Mitchell said simply and Priscilla's eyes widened. "No, you can't cancel this. This shoot is very important. Mr Lucas worked hard to secure the deal and he'll be enraged if you turn it down like that," Priscilla gestured, panic slowly settling in her gaze. She could imagine Lucas' blazing eyes as he hears the news. Mitchell finally opened her eyes, looking straight up at the ceiling, "I'm not going, Priscy. You can tell 'Mr Lucas' to find a replacement. And please, I need to rest." "Mitchelle?" Priscilla walked closer to her bed, her voice soft and gentl
Mia stirred on the bed, the rays from the sun passing through the floor- to- ceiling window, heating up her skin. She yawned and sat up, her mind a blurry haze. Then, she looked downwards on her nightie - nude baby pink. Her mind suddenly flashed back to last night. "Gosh, what happened?" She facepalm herself, remembering bumping into Xavier in the kitchen and... that's all she could remember. Goddammit! Did she pass out?She slammed her fists on her forehead again and hurriedly came down from the bed. Nanny Irene must have been in her room already because the curtains are drawn open.Glancing at the huge clock hanging on the wall, she could see the hands of the clock. It's 8:41AM. Mia sluggishly dragged herself to the bathroom.FEW MINUTES LATER* "Good morning ma'am," the maids greeted as she walked past them to the dining room, dressed in a classy short blue gown, that accentuated her curves. It had delicate pleats that added an elegant touch to the overall design."Morning," she m
Xavier entered into the living room, his hands tucked into the pocket of his suit pants with his cold grey eyes scanning the dimly lit luxurious space. His phone beeped in his pocket and he took it out. "Any news?" He questioned sharply, his deep voice sounding."Sir, according to Leila's information, we've tracked every newly rented apartment in the last four weeks in Los Angeles but Martinez location hasn't been tracked yet," Silas paused for a second, while Xavier listened with furrowed brows. "Martinez is still in the city, Silas. Contact every airport and seaport authority and get every piece of information on every flight and departure from now on," he ordered, his voice sharp and cold."Yes sir, and we've gotten all the artists and actresses who made clips claiming you to take advantage of them under our watch.""Good," Xavier nodded, his jaw relaxing slightly. "Don't get any rest till you find him.""Yes sir."Then the call ended.Xavier slipped his phone back into his pocket
"Please!!! Stop!! I beg of you Mr Xavier.. please ask them to stoppp.." Leila's tortured screams filled the basement as she got electrocuted for the umpteenth time.Xavier sat cross-legged, his eyes unfeeling and his gaze sharp as he stared blankly."I swear I don't know where Martinez is... I swear," Leila's voice turned weak, every nerves in her system were already worn out and her feet felt like jelly."Boss, she seems not to have any idea of his whereabout," Silas moved closer to Xavier, a look of sympathy in his eyes.Xavier immediately threw Silas a glare and uncrossed his legs, standing up elegantly and moving to the door."Keep up with the torture till she's ready to say what she knows," he ordered sternly and this followed by a piercing scream as a bolt of electricity passed through Leila's body."I'll say something.. I'll say something, please," Leila coughed as her throat went dry and her eyes rolled to the back of her head.Immediately, Xavier halted on his feet. Without
