"Ah, Mrs Dos Santos!" Logan said cheerfully while reading his newspaper. "Welcome back to the land of the living." He said sarcastically as he placed the paper down and stared at her.
Her eyes were still adjusting to the light and she kept swallowing and clearing her throat due to thirst. Logan smirked, the woman was always drinking water back home, she literally could not survive a few hours without it.
"W-water," she croaked out.
He rolled his eyes and stood up, and then he picked the glass of water on her bedside and helped her drink with a straw. "You are welcome," he said as she laid back on her pillow.
"When can we go home?" She asked.
Logan sat directly next to her on the bed and crossed his legs, displaying his black three-piece, Armani suit. "Funny you should ask that, because you already cost me days from work."

The sound of the clock ticking with each passing second, was the only thing that made sense. It obstructed the silence and darkness that came with the night.Nights like these were the worst, especially when there were no stars in the sky; MJ felt alone and transparent. When the stars were visible, she would push time by counting them and making constellations; it made the night go quicker. But it was dark, and all she could do now was to walk around the house like a zombie all night, holding on to her teddy bear. At some point, she thought changing into comfortable night clothes, would make her fall asleep. But each time she closed her eyes, all she saw were Alastair's dead eyes.It was one nightmare after another. She could never remember the last time she had a peaceful sleep. She stood against the window and watched Cameron as he snored softly into the night, and she wondered; what wou
Jorge did not know how to face his sister again after their last conversation. He knew he was to blame for Alastair Cooper's death, but there was nothing he could have done; no matter what he did, someone was going to die anyway.MJ was very important to him, he just wished she could see that; but MJ always saw and believed whatever she wanted, no matter what. She was quick to jump to conclusions and declare war, and that was something that haunted him every day and night.MJ had declared war against him, except, he was not willing to fight her. She was his sister and he loved her despite everything she stood for. He was going to do whatever it took to get back into her life and by her side; that was how it had always been, Jorge and MJ Billings against the world. The thought of losing her and their relationship, rattled him, she was the only family he had left. He could not remember
Two weeks had passed since Logan's last encounter with MJ. For the first few days, Logan was in a state, drinking himself to sleep. Not knowing where he was, was frustrating him. A few dinners with Mrs Dos Santos, and Skype calls with Montana helped him through his trauma. When he was emotionally stable enough for them both, Logan decided to be the better man and confront MJ. It took a lot of work to get Logan back to his usual self, but when he did, he swore that breaking into La Café and confronting Mrs Dos Santos, was the best thing he had ever done. She took him in and supported him without judging him or reminding him of his stupidity when it came to MJ Billings and Carmen. He was not yet fully healed emotionally, but his mental state was getting better, he stopped asking himself a lot of questions he had no answers to; and instead, looked for the answers from the only person who had them.
"Where are you going dressed like that?""Come on, not you too!" Cameron grunted, staring down at his lower body. He was wearing blue ripped denim jeans, a white golf T-shirt, and white sneakers; in contrast to MJ who was wearing a full peach business suit and heels.MJ rolled her eyes as she combed down her hair in order to hide her bruises. "Cameron, being my secretary and PA means that you are the face of my company, you need to look the part," She said."But, it is just going to be the two of us today."MJ finished up her hair and turned to Cameron, and shook her head in disapproval. "Don't you have proper shoes and a single pair of a suit?" Cameron's cheeks turned red as he scratched his neck, unable to make eye contact. MJ sighed with her hands on her hips as she thought of a solution. "Wait." She frowned, and Cameron grinned as if he knew what was to
"Are you going to stand there all day?" Logan asked as Antonina remained rooted at the main entrance to the mansion."I'm going to stand here until you take me back to my house," she said stubbornly, hugging herself as she looked around in discomfort.Logan shifted his weight from one foot to the other, something at the back of his head telling him she was thinking about the night of the engagement party. He felt guilty and felt the need to apologise again, but could not find it in him; after all, it was not like she was also not keeping things from him. He reassured himself. He rolled his eyes at her and scoffed. "Listen, woman. I–" he started towards her, but was interrupted by Thuso. Damn! He thought. He had almost forgotten about him!"Boss? You are back," the big guy walked towards Logan in his signature black suit and T-shirt.
"It was not real; it was all a lie. They lied to me, they lied to me!" Logan yelled as he came down on his knees, his chest rising frantically as he breathed heavily.Antonina came into the room once he seemed a bit calmer, she had waited outside while he teared the place down and yelled as if his life depended on it.Obviously he had thought he was over his pain when he returned to work and then went to London. The reason she had encouraged him to go to London was that he could get a chance to speak to MJ and get the closure he needed. She could see it eating him up every time someone paid their condolences and from all the pitiful looks he received. She thought he had spoken to MJ – he told her he had spoken to her. Clearly, he lied, and now they were back to square one; hopefully, he would not drown himself in alcohol again, or better yet, go aroun
"Good Afternoon, Gentlemen and lady. I hope I'm not too early," MJ Billings greeted smoothly as she strolled into the boardroom, where Billings Corporations shareholders alongside Jorge and Sandra, had been waiting for over an hour.None of the faces seemed to be impressed with her grand entrance, only Sandra responded with a warm smile courtesy of her speedy recovery, the other men looked grumpy and hateful, while Jorge seemingly rolled his eyes.On a positive note, everything else seemed to be in place, Cameron had done an impressive job at setting up the boardroom as much as he did disappearing. For perfectly obvious reasons, he did not want to see Jorge, especially since they still had an unresolved identity issue as well as the fact that Cameron still had to go home to see Logan.MJ was surprised that he still stuck with her even after all the workload she put on him to prepare for th
Stepping into Antonina's house felt like a fresh start for Logan. It was not just a small house with old and cheap furniture or worn out paint, broken basin, or a small kitchen. It was his home.Home. He never thought he would ever say that word before. His house was not home; it was just a house filled with material things. It did not give him the peaceful feeling he had right now."Home sweet home," he said finally and plopped down on the couch, the weight of his trip and emotional turmoil from earlier, finally resting on his shoulders."Don't you think you should probably take a shower before relaxing? You've been travelling for hours, now you are covered in sweat from all that exercising you were doing," Ants complained and dropped her things on the floor.Logan laughed at her last comment. "Exercising?" He joked.
