"Mr. Black, can I talk to you for a second?" The doctor asked, but my eyes were on Ashley. She seemed nervous, and I knew they were hiding something from me. "Ashley? What is going on?" I asked her.

I stepped inside and walked up to her and I saw how she was fighting to keep the tears away.

"There is something I have to tell you," Ashley says, looking down at her hands. The way she said it made my heart sink, and I knew it wasn't good news.

Ashley looks at me with sadness in her eyes. "I'm dying, Adrian," she said, letting the tears roll down her face. I looked at her, confused. What the hell does she mean she is dying? I turn to look at the doctor and ask, "What does she mean by dying? I thought you said she was going to be alright," I asked the doctor.

She gives me a sad smile. "Your wife is dying, Mr. Black. She has a brain tumor; the growth is rapid, and the medication is not going to be enough."
