THE ACCIDENT

The black car immediately speeds off, leaving Emily and Brian on the ground.

Emily who was laying directly on top of Brian, her eyes tightly closed, slowly opened them, “ Brian” she whispered. They stared at each other for a while before Brian finally pulled her up, “watch it Emily, what were you thinking, do you want to die”

“No Brian, it felt like the driver was coming directly at me, I made sure there was no car before walking past” Emily said her eyes swelling up with tears.

“Stop being delusional Emily, the car wasn't coming directly at you, the driver was probably drunk or just useless, thank goodness you're fine” he said as he tried to dust off his suit. He noticed the tears on Emily's face, she was still startled.

“Don't worry Emily, you're fine, and I won't let anything hurt my friend” he said trying to make her feel better.

She chuckled in between her tears, “thanks Brian, for coming through again”
