CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

SALLY

I was exhausted already. I decided to go home and get some rest. I was glad that the day finally came to an end. I thought that it would never end.

I marked the date on the calendar in my office before I began to pack up. It was one of the worst days of my life. I would never forget.

I packed my bag and walked out of the office. My assistant was with my secretary, giving out instructions to her.

When she turned around and saw me, she stopped talking and began to stare at me for a while. She turned and began to walk towards me.

"Ma'am," Alicia called me.

I stopped walking and stared at her without responding.

"I'm not sure you can leave through the main gate. The commotion outside is getting worse, and..."

"I don't think I can stay here any longer," I told her.

My shoulder was stretched. I felt completely exhausted. I didn't want to waste any more time at the office. Plus, what was the guarantee that they would leave any time soon.
