I decided to visit James so that we could talk about our plans without any interruptions. I called him and then informed him that I was coming before I left the house.

James was home he told me he didn't have anywhere to go so I could come. I got dressed, took a cab, and went straight to James's house.

"You're here," he noted immediately when he opened the door and saw me.

"You thought that I would not come?" I asked him as I walked into the house.

"The way you responded to my call. I thought you were no longer interested in working with me."

"Come off it," I scolded him.

I walked ahead into the house and sat down on the couch without waiting for him to ask me to sit.

"You're too full of yourself, for someone who was once a maid," James mocked.

I was shocked. That was the last thing I expected James to say, especially since I had never spoken to him about my personal life. I knew Sally didn't tell him that, either.
