CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY THREE

SALLY

When dinner was ready, I walked downstairs to eat. I was expecting to meet Alex and Beverly already eating at the dining room. I was surprised when I got there and met an empty table.

"Where's everyone?" I asked the assistant chef when I walked into the dining room.

She was there, setting the dining room alongside other maids. She lifted her head to look at me.

"I tried to reach out to the master but I couldn't reach him. The mistress is already asleep. She has a high fever and severe headache."

"Go to his room and tell him dinner is ready," I ordered, pretending like I didn't hear the part she spoke about Beverly.

She bowed and walked away.

I sat down on my seat, and the other maids began to dish my food into my plate. After dishing out the food, they walked back into the kitchen to fix things back there.
