“I’m going home”.

“No you’re not”.

“I have to leave sir”.

“No you won’t”.

Evelyn took a deep breath as she shut her eyes closed for a moment, he was clearly on a mission to push her buttons, she sighed deeply, “I am not feeling too well sir”.

“What?”, he muttered snidely, “You spent the night with your lover and now you’re lackadaisical at your job?”.

What was his problem exactly?! He was demeanor was totally different from yesterday, he wasn’t nice but he wasn’t cruel either.

“I came up with a fever last night sir”. She retorted with a lie.

Aiden’s eyes narrowed in surprise as he clearly wasn’t expecting such an answer. He wanted her to flare up, go into a breakdown and quit her job so he could no longer see the disloyal face of hers… he wanted her as far away as possible and every thought of her presence driven from existence.
