LISA'S POV
I splashed the cold water on my face and turned off the tap. I stared at myself in the mirror. It was a good thing I spent good money on quality makeup.I threw on a shirt and a pair of jeans, finally calling it a night. This was too much drama for one day.I opened the bathroom door-"Tried to kill you, huh?" Chantel arched her brow in disbelief. "Yeah right.""Shut up," I wasn't about to defend something that definitely happened. "What did the boss do?""What else? He asked his assistant or whatever to send him home. But damn! That man was fine and sexy as hell-""Crazy too, not gonna lie," I made my way to the backdoor."He looked rich and that kiss-""Let's not even talk about it," I rolled my eyes. His breath smelled of alcohol and his eyes were hazy. Who kisses a host that passionately? Maybe he mistook me for someone else. Had to be the alcohol."Hey," Chantel grabbed my arm and I turned to hold her gaze, "Kevin is out back," her eyes turned worried. "Be careful. He looked... Pissed."I offered her a smile even as my heart hammered in my chest. I nodded and she reluctantly let go of me.I continued my way to the backdoor, knowing fully well what I was going to face. I drew in deep breaths and opened the door with a calm face-"Oh!" I feigned shock. "Kevin honey, is that you?"The face of my last job instantly brightened up. I saw hope flash in his eyes and I almost shook my head at the idiot who was yet to learn his lesson.Unlike the first time he came wearing a suit, he was wearing casual clothes now. He looked a little out of shape with bags under his eyes, his cheeks were slimmer and his stubble had grown and were looking rough."Lisa," he whispered my name in a soft voice and stretched his hand to me. I wasn't in the mood to get touched but I could easily avoid the suspicion if I allowed it."They took everything," he said as his hands held mine. He pulled me into a hug and I rolled my eyes as his hug became tighter."What do you mean, honey. I don't know whom you speak of," I whined with a small pout.He let go of me and looked me in my eye, "Remember? The bank and the loan I took on your behalf?"I pulled my hands out of his slowly and covered my mouth in shock, "No way! That old thing?" So he was here to remind me of old money? I couldn't even remember what I spent it on-Ah yes, make-up and shoes. It was money well spent. He nodded and grabbed onto my hand again. He was hellbent on being touchy. I forced my legs to move and I started to lead him out of the alley. Should he get mad, I could make a run for it."I know how much school means to you and you're only doing this terrible job because you wanna graduate soon," he said."Yes, yes, you're right. I hate it," I loved my job and I had dropped out of college years before I met this dummy."That's why it was so hard for you to see me, right? Not like you were ignoring me or anything right-""What! Never! I've been so busy with school that I haven't had time to see anyone," I placed my hands on the sides of my head before running my fingers through my hair."It's okay honey," he stepped closer to me and he pulled me into a hug. He took a big whiff of my neck with his hands running up and down my back and going down to my butt."I missed you so much," he cooed. "So much so that I went to your school and you weren't there."My heart skipped a beat. "M-Maybe you went there on a day I wasn't around-""I found my old classmate as a professor in the department you said you were, I gave her your name and nothing came up," his voice was bolder and darker now, his hug was getting tighter."K-Keviv, you're hurting me now-""Shut up, you little bitch!" He cursed at me through clenched teeth. I knew I was in one hell of trouble. He used to work at the Central Bank. All it took was to insert a flash drive to his computer one night after I had convinced him to take me home, I scanned all his passwords and we cleared his account in under a day.He returned to me crying that his money was gone and I was able to get the man to take a loan from the bank.It wasn't my fault that he was stupid-"You're coming with me-""No, let me go!" I pushed him hard and was able to get out of his grip. Without thinking twice, I bolted.Good thing I was wearing flats. I ran the other way, leading to the entrance of the bar but I couldn't run inside, Madam Alex didn't know about the flash drive part. It was the conspiracy of another guy I worked for."You little bitch! Come back here!" He yelled and chased after me like a madman.Panting hard and gasping for breath, I couldn't afford to get caught. I noticed a familiar face next to a black SUV. He lifted his gaze to my direction-"Open the fucking door, Parker!"He looked sceptical but he hurried and pulled the door open. I increased my pace-"Lisa!"I gasped when I heard the animalistic bark. I climbed into the car and Parker slammed the door shut."Let her out!"Kevin yelled. "That little bitch stole all my money and she owes me money too!"I needed to get out of here. I wasn't safe here too-The window beside me suddenly rolled down and I moved away from it. I fell backwards with my head landing on a rock hard chest."Take care of it," I froze at the voice that was closest to me and felt the deep vibration on his chest."Yes, sir," Parker replied. "How much does she owe you?""A hundred thousand Dollars!"I recovered from my shock immediately and moved closer to the window, glaring at the lying bastard. "That's a goddamn lie! My cut was only twenty thousand! So pay him that-"His eyes widened, "I knew you were working for someone else!""Hundred?" I scoffed. "You think you're some-""Pay him the hundred, Parker,"I turned to stare at him in shock. He was resting his head on the other window. He sounded exhausted as if he wanted to get the night over and done with."Thank you so much," Kevin yelled. "You don't know what you've done for me. This bitch took everything from me-""Never appear before her again," he dismissed without sparing him a glance."You bet on it, sir. She's all yours. Don't let her near your personal stuff. She'll steal and rob you of everything you own,"Kevin was still dishing out my handbook when Parker got into the car."If you don't drive off now," my client said in a lazy voice. "I'll kill him.""I understand, sir," Parker started the car immediately and we zoomed off.Understand what? Those words alone sent shivers down my spine. I was speechless as the car moved. My eyes were still glued on him but what hurt me more was the money he had burnt."You didn't have to pay that much," I should be grateful but if he had given me that extra-"Take us to a hotel," he completely ignored me. I was starting to believe this man had a problem with- Wait, a hotel?"What! I don't want to sleep with you-""Dance," he finally acknowledged my presence. "You'll dance to pay me back."LISA'S POVWhile I wondered how much I'd have to dance to cover a hundred thousand dollar debt. We arrived back at the bar because I mentioned that I didn't trust him enough to go somewhere other than the bar.He said nothing to me but ordered Parker to turn the car around. We got back to the bar and the minute I walked in, I met Chantel's gaze and she threw her head back, laughing immediately.I ignored her as I led my client- now turned creditor- to the private room I ran out from a few hours ago. While he got settled in, I changed into my outfit, hating that I had to repeat the same outfit in one night.I couldn't ask him for money for payment. That would be ridiculous. I stepped into the room and once again, took my position before the pole only this time, the lights were switched on."I need to know you're actually watching me-""I am," he interrupted and went silent again. He was staring directly at me. Leaning forward with his hand intertwined and under his jaw to hold his head
LISA'S POVI finally called it a night. I had waited an extra twenty minutes and he was still a no-show. I felt a little disappointed as I squeezed the flash drive in my palm. I was looking forward to seeing him again. What face would he wear this time? The first night, he was gloomy. The second night and third night, his expressions were unreadable. I was beginning to wonder if that man could perform the simple act of 'smiling'."Well, I'm leaving," I called out to my boss who didn't bother to give a reply.I stepped out into the cold night with my low waist crazy black jeans and a hoodie. I noticed a familiar car at the next three shops away from the bar.Nervousness filled me up as I wondered if that was my man. I approached the vehicle and knocked on the passenger's window. It was rolled down and I saw no one inside."Get in," Parker's harsh voice filled my ears and he stared at me from the driver's seat. "He's waiting for you."I smirked as I pulled open the door, "Can't get enou
LISA'S POVI closed the bag and sat straight as the door was kicked open. He strode in with his long legs. He was wearing a blue three piece suit but he held his suit jacket in his hand.He probably didn't see me because he stood in his office, unaware of my presence as he continued his phone call."I'll send them to you when I can," his voice was a tad urgent but he still sounded so tired. "Just get everything she needs."Was there more of me by his side? I couldn't complain. After all, I was earning my fair share of him."Hold on, it's on my desktop,"Oh no it isn't! I jumped to my feet and hurried over to him before he could get any closer to his desk.I attempted to hug him from behind, wrapping my hands around his body when he suddenly flinched.I lost my balance and I fell on my ass, staring at him in shock. He had a glare on his face as he was suddenly on alert."Let me call you back," he said into the phone and hung up without taking his eyes away from me.I gulped as he walke
LISA'S POV"Where the heck did you go, Lisa!" Chantel yelled into the phone and I jerked it away from my ears."Settle down, girl! That yell can get me deaf into New Years'," I rolled my eyes. "I'm on a vacation-""Without informing anyone?" her tone was high and she sounded angry. "You didn't even take any of Madam Alex's calls.""Yes, yes, I know that," I rubbed my forehead and fell back on my bed. "It was a last minute vacation." I just had to disappear. After that stunt with Parker? I didn't have the balls to stay back in town.I was living well here. The escape money was enough to last me for a week and once I got a buyer for that bag, I'd be well for another week. "Miguel is worried," Chantel said and I scoffed at her silly attempt to squeeze information out from me. "Didn't things go as planned?""Like hell it did!" I cursed. Once again, Miguel was planning on keeping tabs on me. The bastard was worried I had kept the money all to myself. "Look, I just need to breathe for a wh
LISA'S POVStupid Lisa! I was both a dummy and a fool and money would surely be the death of me. I was sitting beside him in heavy silence while he stared at me.My hands were clenched on my thighs as I stared at my boots with one question roaming my mind; where was he taking me? We didn't even talk about it. I just hopped on like I had no resolve to refuse him and no words needed to be said anymore. Was it too late to ask where we were going?"What are you doing all the way out here?"My eyes moved first before my head followed. Ah shi! He was staring at me again with those heavy eyes. My chest was tight all of a sudden. It was a natural feeling now whenever he was around.More importantly, didn't Parker mention anything to him? I guess the bastard kept to his word like a true gentleman and here I was, going back on mine. What, the driver-"Parker?""No…that's not him," he interrupted. "Why are you looking for him?" His voice was calm and despite his questioning, they held no suspici
LISA'S POV"You- You're insane, Miguel!" I was shaking , sweating too under the sound of his voice. I could hear Chantel's little whimper every second. She was struggling to get away from him. Would he really go this far just to get his hands on billionaire money? I knew I was interested in it too but this was just topping the charts."And you're delusional if you think you can score that billionaire for yourself," he mocked. "Wake up, Lisa!" he suddenly growled. "We steal, wipe them clean and bounce. It's all we've ever done-""I know!""Then why the fuck are you slacking?""I really did get my hands on his stuff but his stupid guard got in the way. Why the fuck do you think I'm on a by-force vacation?" We had turned the conversation into a yelling contest and I wasn’t even sorry. He was silent, probably trying to find the truth in my words. I gulped as I noticed I was already breathing like I had run a marathon-"Argh! You piece of- Don't pull my hair like that- ah!" Chantel groane
LISA'S POVI sat still on the hospital bed as the nurse wrapped my neck in a white bandage. She was humming an unrecognisable tone but I didn't pay any mind to that. My thoughts were conflicted on how I had gotten here."Get your hands off her!"Richard's yell was like a bomb that exploded without warning. The man had flinched, pulling away from me all of a sudden and I crumbled to the floor, panting for air and pressing a hand to my neck as I coughed. He had moved with the intention to kill me. I could imagine dying on the cold hard floor of a cheap hotel. That wasn't the right way to go."The deal was not to bring anyone," the man sneered at him. "Who is she? Did he send her?"But Richard ignored the question and got in the elevator instead. He tapped on a button and the lift went down. When the doors opened, he stormed out with arrogance dripping from his steps and he didn't need to tell me to follow him."Is everything alright with you two?" The nurse asked and I blinked, staring
LISA'S POVToy… That was something I hadn't heard before. I would have appreciated the word 'pet', it could be considered as the cute and subtle version of 'Toy'. But he had said, "Toy."What was this feeling that pierced me deeply like a fork and twisted my guts? Was it hope that I expected something more or disappointment that I was something less? He had proven time and time again that he was different from all the others I had met but the words he spoke tonight and the crazy overjoyed look on his face made me certain of one thing. He was just like all the others; expecting you to wag your tail and dance to their tune for a little money. In his case, it wasn't 'a little' money. As we got out of the hotel with the ointment for my bruise in my tight grip. I stole glances at him since I walked behind him. He rubbed his neck every now and then, and raked his fingers through his dark hair from behind. This man saw me as nothing more than a toy. Not even something worthy of being alive
