Fran’s words kept ringing in my ears.

Forgive him and get back together.

Could we really get back what we once had? Yes I did love him, and he did explain why he had kept Rita and the baby from me, but I was scared of getting caught up in any drama. Should I just risk it? Take it one step at a time?

I didn’t go to sleep till nearly 2am, And slept past the ringing of my alarm. It was Fran’s knock that woke me.

“Miss Janet! You are going to be late for work!” She called.

I sat up and yawned, still feeling tired and sleepy. I forced myself out of bed and took a cold shower, which helped to wake me up.

A message came into my phone as I stepped out of the shower. I looked at it. It was from Kevin.

I hesitated, wondering if that was a good idea, then replied,
