What the fuck?

I couldn’t believe the nightmare, or rather day-mare, I had walked into.

I had agreed to this lunch because I hadn’t wanted to be around for Anna’s stupidity party, and Kevin had said it would only be his mom and dad. Now I was confronted with nearly a dozen people.

I fixed a smile on my face as I was introduced, and had to stop myself from screaming as I answered their difficult questions.

Then his aunt said,

“I can’t wait to have you as a member of our family Janet. I shall plan the wedding myself.”

Wedding!

I glanced at Kevin who was grinning stupidly.

Angry, I put my hand under the table and dug my nails into his thigh.

He winced and tried to remove my hand, I resisted.

“When are you guys planning a party to celebrate your engagement?” An uncle asked.

“We haven’t picked a date yet.” I said quickly.“ We are not in any hurry.”

“The sooner the better.” His aunt said. “ I can’t wait for my favorite nephew to be married.”
