There was a light knock on my hotel room door way past ten and I frowned, thinking about who could possibly be there at this time.
I got off the bed where I was previously snuggled under the warm covers and watching a movie because I was bored and didn't want to sleep yet.
I opened the door and found Heather on the other side. She was dressed in shorts and a dark brown sweater.
"Can I come in?" She asked and I opened the door wider.
"Of course."
She walked in and went to sit straight on my bed. "So I've been thinking about something. Honestly, the thought never crossed my mind until now. I don't know if you will agree or not and you don't have to, just know that it would be best if you did agree."
"I have no idea what you're talking about." I took a seat next to her.
Heather crossed her legs. "I think you should reveal yourself to the world as Alistair Jenson's daughter."
For a minute I just stared at her. Surely I heard her wr
"Ashley," Heather breathed out. "What're you doing here?"Ashley eyed us suspiciously."I can ask you the same thing. Anyways, I'm here to find you because Rachael is looking for you for God knows what reason so you better find her and talk to her right now before she goes berserk."Our synchronized sighs of relief followed. Ashley didn't hear our talk.Heather nodded. "I'll go find her right away."Heather left and with a small smile in my direction, Ashley left for her room too. I closed the door and rested my head against it. That was close. If Ashley had heard us, we were bound to get in big trouble.***The next morning I found Ethan in the hotel lobby with his phone and laptop surrounding him. As soon as he caught sight of me, he instantly snatched his phone and held it protectively against his chest.I chuckled and made my way to where he was sitting."Don't worry, I won't damage your pho
"What do you mean?" I asked cautiously."A day with you didn't feel like a day spent with Juliet. Now don't give me that 'people change' reason. I'm really curious. It feels like this is a totally different person. Juliet, are you hiding something from me? Because if someone had told me you'd be likethisone day, I would've laughed in their faces and told them that they probably just visited a parallel universe."I stopped walking, my cotton candy long since gone in my stomach, and with as stern a face I could muster, turned to Ethan. He stopped too, looking at me with a raised eyebrow. He had barely taken five bites of his cotton candy and I knew just what to do to rethink his words.I reached out my hand for the cotton candy and smashed it in his face, the cotton candy caking his whole face and a little of his hair."I think this was confirmation enough for you to know that I really am Juliet Jenson, your childhood fr
I nervously fiddled with my fingers until Heather put a hand on mine to stop it."Hey, don't worry. Rachael's fashion show is the most awaited event here so the media is more concerned about covering all her creations. They won't even notice you're here." She reassured me again."Okay," I said and then let out a sneeze.Heather frowned. "God knows where you and Ethan went gallivanting about in the city. You both have a cold now."I looked over at Ethan who was sat in the first row with a handkerchief pressed to his nose. I suppressed the small laugh that was threatening to come out. "Sorry," I said as my eyes watered because I was going to sneeze but then it didn't happen. We were seated on the sides, in the third row because we didn't want to drag much attention to us.Any minute now, the show will start and we'll see Rachael's talent displayed before us in the form of her self designed clothing.Right after the show, Rachael will of
"No!"Ethan looked startled. "What happened?""Not here. Just take me somewhere else.""Why? The food's good here.""How would you know? You've never visited this place.""How wouldyouknow that I haven't visited before?" He was smirking.BecauseI'veworkedhereforalongtimeandIneversawyou."Uh...your first choice wouldn't be this café.""It is now. Come on, it isn't that bad. I'm sure you'll love it here. There aren't any other good places around anyway."I reluctantly got out of the car and looked at the familiar décor of the café.I hoped Mrs. Odin wasn't in the café
Ethan dropped me off at the front steps and before I had the chance to unlock my seatbelt, he was already at my side, opening the car door for me which I found was extremely weird. He was being too much of a gentleman. It was almost unbelievable. He then left in the same car, claiming he had some business to attend to. He made no rude comments about how I didn't make myself useful in any way.I was done being a woman without anything to do. I had something to do now, and it was college. I would be starting my classes from the very same day and so was Olivia. We would be occupied for most of the morning and the afternoon after lunch. We didn't want anyone to know about it so we would be doing it in the privacy of our respective rooms with the doors locked. Everyone would be busy with their own work anyway.I decided to check up on Keith before I got started and apologize to him about earlier and on behalf of Ethan but he wasn't there, so I made a mental note to d
"Stop. Please," I gasped for air, crumbling to the floor with my heart beating fast.Keith halted at the top of the stairs and laughed at me."Man, am I out of shape," I grumbled. It was a quiet Sunday with practically no one in the mansion. Mr. and Mrs. Jenson had gone on a little picnic and Olivia was sleeping because she was too tired from studying already on the second day.Ethan surprisingly took a holiday today for the first time since I had been here. He was bugging me all morning because he thought I was avoiding him by not letting him in my room but in reality I was just taking my classes. After about ten minutes of him constantly whining, I finally stopped answering him. He left fifteen minutes after that. There were only three people at lunch, Ethan, Olivia and I. Of course he demanded what I was doing in my room all morning but I just gave an excuse that I was sleeping as I was tired. After lunch, I quickly put my dishes in the s
Heather was present during dinner. She looked a little too dressed up for a simple dinner but when Ethan walked in, I knew the reason. They were going out to eat. They were going on a date. She didn't want to stay for long as they had reservations.I could feel Ethan's eyes on me ever so often and it was hard to ignore what happened a few hours ago whenever we looked at each other. I could still feel his lips on my neck and the warm hug which was too good to pull out of.Ethan looked as if he was about to say something to me but I didn't give him a chance to as I spoke. "Have fun on your date.""Thanks," Heather said before grabbing Ethan's hand and dragging him out the door into their waiting car. We bid them goodbye. The whole dinner I was distracted. My mind kept replaying our hug and his kisses on my neck and our almost kiss.Soon Mr. and Mrs. Jenson started talking about Ethan and Heather and their wedding. An unknown emotion burned in
"What're doing here?""Why is everyone asking me this? Is my presence here that surprising?""Probably because you have no business here. And your presence is not desired as well.""I have business with Juliet. So you can leave.""I'm not going to leave until you do." Ethan shot back."Just let us be, man," Vince sounded annoyed."I can clearly see that Juliet doesn't want you here so I suggest you leave.""Okay," Vince said, grabbing my arm. "Yes, we are leaving. We have a dinner date."I peeled his arm off of me. "No we don't. I clearly told you I don't want to see your face again.""You heard her," Ethan said and gestured towards the door. "Show yourself out before I have to call someone to do that for you."Vince glared at Ethan and gave me a look. "We're not done talking, Juliet."I ignored him as he shuffled awkwardly around us and was finally out the door."You okay?" Ethan asked as he walked
