"No!"
Ethan looked startled. "What happened?"
"Not here. Just take me somewhere else."
"Why? The food's good here."
"How would you know? You've never visited this place."
"How would you know that I haven't visited before?" He was smirking.
Because
I'veworkedhereforalongtimeandIneversawyou."Uh...your first choice wouldn't be this café."
"It is now. Come on, it isn't that bad. I'm sure you'll love it here. There aren't any other good places around anyway."
I reluctantly got out of the car and looked at the familiar décor of the café.
I hoped Mrs. Odin wasn't in the café
Ethan dropped me off at the front steps and before I had the chance to unlock my seatbelt, he was already at my side, opening the car door for me which I found was extremely weird. He was being too much of a gentleman. It was almost unbelievable. He then left in the same car, claiming he had some business to attend to. He made no rude comments about how I didn't make myself useful in any way.I was done being a woman without anything to do. I had something to do now, and it was college. I would be starting my classes from the very same day and so was Olivia. We would be occupied for most of the morning and the afternoon after lunch. We didn't want anyone to know about it so we would be doing it in the privacy of our respective rooms with the doors locked. Everyone would be busy with their own work anyway.I decided to check up on Keith before I got started and apologize to him about earlier and on behalf of Ethan but he wasn't there, so I made a mental note to d
"Stop. Please," I gasped for air, crumbling to the floor with my heart beating fast.Keith halted at the top of the stairs and laughed at me."Man, am I out of shape," I grumbled. It was a quiet Sunday with practically no one in the mansion. Mr. and Mrs. Jenson had gone on a little picnic and Olivia was sleeping because she was too tired from studying already on the second day.Ethan surprisingly took a holiday today for the first time since I had been here. He was bugging me all morning because he thought I was avoiding him by not letting him in my room but in reality I was just taking my classes. After about ten minutes of him constantly whining, I finally stopped answering him. He left fifteen minutes after that. There were only three people at lunch, Ethan, Olivia and I. Of course he demanded what I was doing in my room all morning but I just gave an excuse that I was sleeping as I was tired. After lunch, I quickly put my dishes in the s
Heather was present during dinner. She looked a little too dressed up for a simple dinner but when Ethan walked in, I knew the reason. They were going out to eat. They were going on a date. She didn't want to stay for long as they had reservations.I could feel Ethan's eyes on me ever so often and it was hard to ignore what happened a few hours ago whenever we looked at each other. I could still feel his lips on my neck and the warm hug which was too good to pull out of.Ethan looked as if he was about to say something to me but I didn't give him a chance to as I spoke. "Have fun on your date.""Thanks," Heather said before grabbing Ethan's hand and dragging him out the door into their waiting car. We bid them goodbye. The whole dinner I was distracted. My mind kept replaying our hug and his kisses on my neck and our almost kiss.Soon Mr. and Mrs. Jenson started talking about Ethan and Heather and their wedding. An unknown emotion burned in
"What're doing here?""Why is everyone asking me this? Is my presence here that surprising?""Probably because you have no business here. And your presence is not desired as well.""I have business with Juliet. So you can leave.""I'm not going to leave until you do." Ethan shot back."Just let us be, man," Vince sounded annoyed."I can clearly see that Juliet doesn't want you here so I suggest you leave.""Okay," Vince said, grabbing my arm. "Yes, we are leaving. We have a dinner date."I peeled his arm off of me. "No we don't. I clearly told you I don't want to see your face again.""You heard her," Ethan said and gestured towards the door. "Show yourself out before I have to call someone to do that for you."Vince glared at Ethan and gave me a look. "We're not done talking, Juliet."I ignored him as he shuffled awkwardly around us and was finally out the door."You okay?" Ethan asked as he walked
"I still can't believe you have a car like that," I said as I glanced back at the car which was not some fancy expensive one. It could easily pass as a normal car and no one would believe it belonged to a billionaire."Yeah, it's for escapades like this one." He grinned, twirling the car keys around his finger."Where are we going?" I asked as he grabbed my hand when we were about to cross the road."It's right there."I looked in the direction he pointed and was confused as to why we are at the theatre.I mean I know we were there to watch a movie but why? We could've just watched it at home at the private movie theatre the Jenson's owned. It wouldn't have been a problem to get hands on the latest movie. When I pointed it out to him, he couldn't answer for a minute. "I want to experience it like how other people do. At a crowded movie theatre, in the darkness with lots of people around. It would be fun if we don't get recognized."I
I just stared at him, wide-eyed as I was too afraid to do anything. Just as his lips were about to touch mine, he lost his footing and we both crashed down. We were at the edge of one of the stairs after all.I was the unlucky one as I fell on my back. What made it worse was Ethan landing on top of me. He immediately scrambled to get off of me."Are you okay?" He asked as he sat up straight and stared down at me."I hope so," I grunted. After I recovered from the fall, we burst out laughing for no reason.***I woke up the next day with a smile on my face. I was reminiscing all the fun moments I shared with Ethan. That was when Olivia came storming in my room."Where were you last night?" She asked, pointing a finger at me."Why do you want to know?" I asked as I swiftly rolled out of bed and fixed my shirt."I told you I was going to tell you everything about my date with Tristan. But wh
A few days later, Tristan stormed inside the mansion. I was in the middle of my classes when there were loud knocks on my door. I frowned and was about to open the door when Tristan's angry voice confronted me."Juliet, what did you tell her?" Tristan demanded from the other side of the door.I kept quiet. Did Olivia tell him that I told her about him?"Juliet, open the door. I want to talk to you."I still didn't say anything, hoping he would think I was not here."I know you're there. Don't think that just because you aren't speaking I'd think you aren't here."Well, damn."What is it?"I asked."What did you tell her about me? Why is Olivia acting strange since our date? It feels like she's avoiding me.""I don't know what you're talking about.""Open the damn door.""No, I'm busy. Let's talk later.""Later when?""After lunch. Can you wait till then?"Tristan didn't speak for a minut
"Brooke is getting married!"Amelia gasped. "Really?""Yeah! I can't believe Brian finally proposed to her.""Yeah. She texted me too. That's such a beautiful ring," Amelia squealed as she showed us the picture of a woman's hand with a big and beautiful diamond ring on the ring finger. "I'm so going to be the maid of honor!""No way, she's totally going to choose me." Heather fired back."Hah, keep dreaming. I know I'm her favorite!" Amelia retorted."Slow down. Who's Brooke." I asked, confused about this new person."She's my cousin," Amelia informed me. "And she's getting married to her long time boyfriend, Brian.""How long?""They've been dating for like eight years with three break ups in between.""Wow. How old is she?" Olivia asked pushing her sunglasses up her head as she peered at Amelia."She's almost twenty seven. And her fiancé, Brian is the sweetest guy ever. When they were in college, h
