Olivia

By the time I went back to the stand, Jamie was no more in sight. My thought wandered to Alex and his new bride. There was no slight of remorse on his face. How easy it was for him to move on. "What would you like Ma'am" the bartender spoke up. There was something in his eyes. Like he knew I was in some kind of predicament situation.

Olivia even other people can see right through your pain. Just walk out. Staying and watch your heart sank will not make you feel better. My inner voice echo. However, some part of me wants to stay and maybe drink away my pain. "Give me the strongest drink you have" I muffled out.

The bartender hesitated for a moment before nodding his head and started preparing my drink. As I waited, my mind kept going back and forth on whether I should stay or leave. But before I could make up my mind, the bartender placed the drink in front of me. I took a deep breath before downing the drink in one go. The alcohol burned my throat, but I welcomed the sensation.

I tried calling Jamie but she isn't picking up. I felt so alone there. Maybe I should have come in the first place. I should've stay at home, or go to work. I've not opened the animal clinic for like two days now. Or I can pay my grandmother a visit. Maybe it would've been better. Maybe. Just maybe, I won't have to witness seeing Alex with another woman.

"A beautiful lady like you shouldn't dwell herself with a strong drink. A wedding is going on" A voice said beside me.

A light chuckle escaped me. "A wedding?" I repeated the words sounding bitter on my tongue. The alcohol is already making its effect in my body. I poured in and gulped it down in one go.

"Who says marriage is important for two lovers? People are taking the marriage thing too serious" I let out adjusting my sitting position on the stool.

"Marriage is a beautiful thing. It brings two people together" the stranger said.

"What if you realized they're not the one for you after the marriage?" I gulped down another glass. My head had began spinning already

"Unless you didn't talk it over before the marriage. The responsibilities and the consequences. You know marriage is a lifetime commitment. We can't risk committing to the wrong person" At that moment, I turned my face to take a look at the stranger beside me. My breathing hitched as his eyes dig a hole in mine.

I realized that I didn't know this man at all. He was just a random person who happened to be sitting next to me at the bar. Embarrassment crept over me as I realized how much I had been pouring my heart out to him. How my mouth choose to blabber to a stranger. Great Olivia. Just Great.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude," I said, feeling my face flush with embarrassment.

The stranger just smiled and said, "No need to apologize, it happens to the best of us. Sometimes, it's easier to talk to a stranger than someone we know."

I took a deep breath and tried to compose myself. "You're right" it is better. Not people who break your trust.

A moment of silence suddenly fell. Only the sound of the microphone could be heard. I didn't want to turn around. It's better to drink away when Jamie comes back we leave. And that's it.

"Bride side or groom side?" He asked. Annoyance settled at the pit of my stomach. What's with him and asking question.

"Groom" I stated out.

"Why aren't you participating then?"

"What about you? Aren't you also here for the wedding?" I asked back. We once again stared at each other. I was the first to break the silence. "There's nothing to participate. I wish them a happy married life"

"Um.. why do I feel like you're heartbroken"

"Shut it!" I found myself hissing out. He was quite taken aback by my outburst. What does he know.

"Guess I pressed the wrong button" he raised his hands in surrender. I reached for the bottle only to get it snatched away by him.

"I'm afraid you will pass out before the wedding finish"

"Let go" I said as calmly as I can. "Letting our emotions to get the best of us is the worst thing that will ever happen to us" he pulled the bottle and set it by his side.

"That is-"

"Hello ladies and gentlemen, to celebrate the bride and groom we would like to open up the dance floor. If you know you got the steps, this is for you. But mind you, this is strictly for couples. You know what I mean" the words went to my ears straightforward.

I clenched my jaw. If I'm not mistaken, the words were directed at me. Alex knew what he was doing when he sent me the wedding invitation. He sure wants to break me completely.

The stranger next to me cleared his throat, drawing my attention back to him. "Do you want to dance?" he asked, extending his hand towards me.

I raised an eyebrow, surprised by his sudden offer. "Why would you want to dance with me?" I asked, eyeing him suspiciously.

He chuckled, a warm smile spreading across his face. "Why not? It's a wedding, after all. And besides, it might cheer you up a bit."

I hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. But then I looked around the room and saw all the happy couples dancing together, lost in their own little worlds. Maybe he was right. Maybe dancing would help me forget, even if just for a moment.

"Okay," I said, placing my hand in his. "Let's dance."

He led me to the dance floor, and we swayed to the music, his hand on my waist and mine on his shoulder. I closed my eyes, trying to forget everything else and just focus on the moment.

For a while, it worked. The music was soothing, and the stranger's touch was comforting. But then, as if on cue, a slow song started playing, and I couldn't help but think of Alex again.

I tried to pull away, but the stranger held me close. "Just breathe," he whispered in my ear. "Don't let him ruin this moment for you."

I was taken aback. The fact that he could see right through me. He knows what I was going through. I felt embarrassed for allowing myself to weaken around a stranger. "Thank you" I muttered.

"What will you repay me with for saving your day. Because it seems it's hitting him right where it should" He whispered to my ears sending what I don't know down my body. I slightly shifted my face towards Alex finding him looking at us with some kind of unreadable expression.

"Sex" I blurted out. The stranger hands went rigid around my waist. Even I was surprised at my answer. But isn't that what most of the things men wants? I have no money to give him. And he doesn't look like someone who is poor. Just his two pieces black suit screams luxury.

"Are you sure? Because I'm not going to decline the offer" An amused smile was playing at his lips.

"Won't you be happy for a free sex on a platter"

What the hell are you doing Olivia. Back out. "I'm in then. I won't say no to an exciting offer" I know if I want to, I can back out and leave but somehow, the stranger resting his hands on my waist, is the solution to my problems. I nodded my head snaking my arms around his neck while closing the remaining gap between us.

The music was blaring through the speakers, the rhythm vibrating through my body. I was lost in the moment, my head thrown back as I laughed, my arms wrapped around the stranger's neck.

We had danced for what seemed like hours, moving together in perfect sync, our bodies melding together as if we were made for each other. I couldn't believe how good it felt to be in his arms, to feel his breath on my skin, his hands roaming over my body.

As the song ended, the stranger pulled away slightly, his eyes locking onto mine. I could see the desire burning in his gaze, and I knew that I was feeling the same way.

Without a word, he led me off the dance floor, his hand clasping mine tightly as he pulled me towards the exit. I didn't resist, following him without hesitation.

As we stepped out into the cool night air, he turned to me, his eyes searching mine. "I don't want this to end," he said softly. "I know we just met, but I feel like I've known you forever."

I couldn't help but feel a rush of emotions at his words. He was right - it felt like we had an instant connection, as if we were meant to find each other in that crowded room.

"I feel the same way," I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper.

He leaned in closer, his breath hot against my cheek. "Then come with me," he said, his voice low and husky. "Let me show you what it's like to be truly loved."

I didn't hesitate. Taking his hand, I let him lead me away into the night, knowing that whatever lay ahead, I was ready to face it.

OliviaMy whole mind wasn't with my body as I walked into the restaurant where Logan and I will be meeting. Getting myself into a big trouble is the last thing I want to happen. I didn't think about the responsibilities when my emotions took better of me. At first I wanted to call Logan and tell him I won't be able to make it but Jamie convinced me that it's the chance to tell him about the pregnancy.I don't know how he'd react to it. For someone with high profile. What will people think if they find out. A man engaged slept with another woman and got her pregnant. I sunk in a deep breath when I sighted him from afar his head down staring at his phone. At that very moment, I knew I've made a big mistake for myself. As I walked towards him, my heart pounding in my chest, Logan looked up and our eyes met. He stood up and smiled at me. I'm going to face Logan and make a decision about the future of my unborn child. My lawyer, Ms. Martin, sat across from me, looking poised and professional as always. She gave me a reassuring smile, and I tried to return it, but I'm sure it came out as a grimace."We'll get through this, Olivia," she said, patting my hand. "Just remember, we have the law on our side."I nodded, trying to take comfort in her words. I had been hesitant to involve lawyers in this situation, but Jamie had convinced me that it was the best way to protect my rights as a mother. After what felt like hours, there was a knock on the door. My heart started pounding in my chest, and I took a deep breath before calling out, "Come in."Logan stepped into the room, looking surprisingly calm and collected. OliviaFinding myself in the kitchen at 6 o'clock a day after my arrival at Logan's family house is the last thing I expected to happen to me. My sleep from last night to morning was like a one hour nap. I couldn't help but feel a bit confused. The maid had said my attention was needed at the kitchen, but now it seemed like there was no one around. I glanced at the clock on the wall, confirming that it was indeed 6 o'clock in the morning. It was still early, and I wondered why I had been called to the kitchen at this time.Feeling a mix of curiosity and apprehension, I decided to explore the kitchen a bit more. Perhaps someone would show up soon and shed some light on why I was summoned here. As I walked around, I noticed the neatly arranged pots and pans, the gleaming countertops, and the faint aroma of freshly brewed coffee lingering in the air. It was a well-maintained and organized kitchen, reflecting the grandeur of the mansion.I took a seat at the island in the center of the

LoganI sounded my fist on Olivia's door while waiting for her to open up. I'm running late. And after what she told me last night, we have to be cautious. My family shouldn't know about it. I have to warn her to be careful. "Oliv-"And then the door swung open, revealing Olivia in her sleep-rumpled state. I don't know if the rules have been explained to her. "Good morning," she muffled out, yawning. I walked past her into the room, a sense of urgency driving my words."We have to be careful," I started, my tone serious. "Last night, you mentioned that Amelia knows about your pregnancy. It's crucial that we keep this information hidden from the rest of the family. They can't find out."Olivia regained her composure, her eyes meeting mine in disbelief. "You should have informed me that your sister-in-law is a doctor. I wouldn't have agreed to come to your house if I knew that."I ran my hands through my hair in frustration, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on me. "That

Olivia"So you mean to tell me that you can't stay outside past 10pm?" Jamie asked after I broke the news of the rules and traditions in the Nero family."Yes, that's what I was told," I replied, feeling a mix of frustration and resignation. Jamie's disbelief mirrored my own sentiments. It seemed unfair and restrictive, but I knew I had to abide by these rules for the time being."Wow. What a tradition. But that's bullshit. You're not part of the family, so I don't see the reason why you would be included in their traditions," Jamie exclaimed, voicing the thoughts that echoed in my mind. If it were Jamie in my position, she would never agree to such limitations. And to be honest, neither would I under normal circumstances. But now, I had to prioritize my baby's well-being and make sacrifices."I'm part of the family and yet not part of the family," I mused, sitting up as a customer walked into the clinic. Being in a complicated situation like this required delicate balance and tact. I

Olivia Three months laterI stared at my reflection in the mirror. I saw a different woman. I had a good set of people in my life and a caring, loving husband like Logan.Words couldn't express how grateful I was for having him in my life. Every day was a new discovery of him. Our love grew stronger with each passing day. And then came our little prince, Tristan. My eyes traveled to his sleeping figure on the bed. Three months had gone by so fast. Logan was actually serious when he said he'd pamper him. That was exactly what he did. Sometimes, I used to feel guilty when he stayed awake with me as we tried to put Tristan to sleep at night. But Logan would still insist that he doesn't mind. He wanted to be there for me and our baby.As for the family, they showed immense support too, especially Amelia, who made sure to check my healt

I questioned, sparing him a look."Maybe Father has decided to free us. Scott hasn't been at the office for two days now. He's following your footsteps."My lips curved up. "You guys should thank Olivia for stepping up for you. Her presence in this house has really made an impact."Liam nodded his head in agreement. "You're right. Olivia“Olivia, please take a seat first,” Amelia held me by the shoulder and tried to make me sit. I had given birth barely up to five hours, but the tension inside me showed no signs of calming down. Not when I knew my grandma was battling for her life in the ICU.“I don’t know, Amelia. I’m scared. What if something happens to her? I can’t…” I choked on my words. Sarah joined in, and both of them placed comforting hands on my shoulder.I had been pacing around the hallway of the ICU, waiting for the doctor to show up while I left Logan and Jamie in the room where I had been admitted with the baby.“You shouldn’t stress yourself; you’re not strong. She’ll be fine. The doctors are skilled, and the operation will be a success,” Sarah reassured. I took a sharp breath and nodded my head, not because of anything but to ease their worry.Thirty minutes turned into an hour before the doctor finally emerged. I rose to my feet and rushed towards him. “Doctor, how is my grandma? Is she okay?”

Olivia Grandma's eyes were fixed intently on me and Logan. Nervousness crept over me as I awaited what she had to say. I shifted in my seat when she cleared her throat, and her gaze shifted to Logan. "So, what plans do you have for my granddaughter?" she asked. My brows creased in confusion. "What plan, Grandma? Logan and I are married."She threw me a glare in return. "Are you his mouth? I'm talking to Logan, not you."I formed my lips into a thin line. "Sure, go on," I urged, using my hand to indicate that she should continue. I didn't even want to look at Logan, knowing he might become nervous."My plan is simple. I'm going to make her the happiest person alive." Heat crept up my cheeks at his words. Logan always knew how to warm my heart and make butterflies erupt in my stomach. I was sure lucky to have someone like him in my life. I would say he was like an angel sent to me to shower my life with love and happiness.I was snapped back to reality by Grandma's words. Looks like Grandma will just have to hire you. People are liking your fried shrimps,” I said with an amused smile, brushing off his first statement.“Trying to dodge the topic by using sweet words on me, right?” I raised an eyebrow.“Did I? If I don’t shout, how would the customers hear me?” I voiced out. Logan dished out the shrimp onto three plates.“If they can’t hear, they should fuck off. They can’t stress my wife.” That made me blush like a fool, and I didn't try to hide it. “Easy. Olivia "Logan won't see the good side of me today," I muttered, staring at my phone. I was certain I had heard a female voice on the other end. Where could he have gone? He doesn't know many places around here."Cut that poor man some slack. Must he always be with you twenty-four hours a day?" Jamie hissed as she took a sip of her lemonade. We had stopped at a restaurant, and I was suddenly craving the "hungry man size" meal we had last time with Logan. I was still eating when I decided to call Logan and ask if he wanted me to order takeout for him, but that's when I heard the female voice."Yes! He's supposed to be. He's my husband after all," I replied, tossing her a glare. Jamie's visit had been sudden, but it came at the right time when Grandma was playing hard to get.The way I had broken down in tears earlier had touched her deeply. I didn't understand why Grandma was being so stubborn about not wanting the kidney transplant. I had even begged the doctor to let me be her donor.

In the past, that remark might have soured my mood, but now it didn't affect me like it used to. Mr. Norman was my mother's personal doctor. What does shouting have to do with making money?"If only he knew. "Do you have any idea how much we've made so far? You underestimate the magic of your cooking skills.
