Olivia

It's been a week. A whole week since Alex's wedding and my encounter with Logan. I thought I would be able to forget the night, but the heartache Alex put me through drove me to the extent of sleeping with a total stranger. I always hit myself when I recall how I offered myself to the stranger.

And to be honest, when he came to the animal clinic, I was much convinced I made a mistake. I didn't act all friendly to him on purpose. We have nothing to get along about. It might be normal to him, but the embarrassment is still nagging me at the pit of my stomach.

I haven't been able to stop thinking about him. His touch, his kisses, the way he made me feel. But I won't be carried away by the way he gave me pleasure. People like him look like the type who doesn't have regard for relationships and only cares about their own pleasure.

I was lost in my thoughts when the door to the clinic was pushed open and Lisa walked i. She had a bouquet of flowers in her hand. “Here. From Mr. Cameron” she said passing it to me. “He's extending his appreciation for taking care of his dog” Well, it's not the first time I receive gifts from my clients. I will say it's worth being acknowledged.

As I closed the clinic for the day, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over me. It had been a long day, and I was looking forward to going back home and sorting myself out. As I walked towards my car, my thoughts began to wander off to Logan.

There was something about him that drew me in, something about his presence that exuded power and confidence. It was strange because we had only met twice, but for some reason, I couldn't shake off the feeling that he was someone important.

As I sat on my couch , I couldn't resist the urge to search for his name on the internet. What I found shocked me to the core. Logan Nero is the CEO of one of the largest tech companies in the world. No wonder he had such an air of authority around him.

I read through more information. My eyes lingered on the screen for while. He's engaged. I couldn't help but zoom through the picture taken with his fiancée. She has a model like body.

So upon all this, he went ahead and accepted my offer. What did that make me then?

I felt a bit foolish for offering myself to someone who was already engaged. I felt like I had made a mistake and I wonder what Logan thought of me now. Did he think I was just an easy woman?

I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. I shouldn't dwell on this anymore. I needed to move on and forget about Logan. He was just a customer who happened to bring his dog to my clinic.

I sighed and stood up, deciding to distract myself with some work. The next few days went by in a blur of work and routine. I tried to keep myself occupied, but Logan's face kept creeping into my thoughts.

It was a Friday evening, and I had just finished up for the day. I was about to leave the clinic when my phone rang. It was an unknown number, but something made me answer it.

"Hello?" I said hesitantly.

"Hi Olivia, it's Logan," the voice on the other end said.

My heart skipped a beat at the sound of his voice. "Oh, hi," I replied, trying to sound casual.

"I was wondering if you'd like to grab a drink with me tonight? Just to say thank you for taking care of Bob," he said.

I hesitated for a moment. I knew I shouldn't go, but my curiosity got the better of me. "Sure, why not?" I said, surprising myself.

"Great, I'll pick you up at 7," he said before hanging up.

I stood there for a moment, wondering what I had just gotten myself into. I decided to call Jamie to come help me with the dressing. It's not like it's something special but I felt like I should look my best. He should not see me as an easy woman. I will have to tell him he should not contact me again too. We're too different people. He's engaged and I'm nursing my broken heart. My main focus is on building my life.

By the time Jamie arrived, she bombarded me with questions. "I thought you guys are over it already? Why the meeting again?" She said dropping her bag on the couch and focused on me.

"I know right. I agreed to the dinner because I want to tell him not to contact me again. Do you know this man is the CEO of the largest tech company in this city. And he's engaged" I emphasised on the last part. I can't believe I acted stupid that night.

"You're joking right?"

"I'm not. Search his name Logan Nero" Jamie went silent for a while. "I will do that later. For now let's focus on you. You should start getting ready"

Jamie helped me with the dressing. I went for a black, knee-length dress that made me feel confident and empowered. All of a sudden I began feeling somehow. At first I discarded it but as we went on with the makeup, I couldn't help but bite my bottom lip. Jamie noticed my mood. "Are you okay?" She asked concern laced on her face.

"I don't know. I'm feeling somehow. As if I'm going to throw up" I muffled out placing my palm on my chest.

"What did you eat?"

"I ate sandwich for lunch. It's shouldn't make me feel this way"

"Let me get you a glass of water" And she rushed out.

I waited for her to arrive as I tried to calm the bile in my throat. I rushed to the bathroom when it got worst. I threw up completely. "Liv!" Jamie rushed up to me patting my back gently.

"I think we should go to the hospital" she said worriedly. I lifted my face to her. I didn't want to jump to conclusions yet but my mind was telling me something is going wrong.

"Can you get me the pregnancy test instrument from my nightstand drawer" Jamie's eyes widened. "What for?"

"I just want to make sure," I replied, my voice shaky. Jamie nodded and hurried off to get the instrument. I took the test and waited for what felt like forever. When the timer went off, I picked up the instrument to read the results. Positive.

My heart skipped a beat as I stared at the little screen in disbelief. I was pregnant. How was this even possible? I hadn't been with anyone since Alex. Only.....

I suddenly realized that the nausea I had been feeling wasn't because of the sandwich. It was morning sickness.

Tears streamed down my face as Jamie came back into the room. "Liv, what's going on? What did the test say?"

I held up the instrument, tears falling down my cheeks. Jamie's eyes widened in shock. We both knew that this was going to change everything.

OliviaFinding myself in the kitchen at 6 o'clock a day after my arrival at Logan's family house is the last thing I expected to happen to me. My sleep from last night to morning was like a one hour nap. I couldn't help but feel a bit confused. The maid had said my attention was needed at the kitchen, but now it seemed like there was no one around. I glanced at the clock on the wall, confirming that it was indeed 6 o'clock in the morning. It was still early, and I wondered why I had been called to the kitchen at this time.Feeling a mix of curiosity and apprehension, I decided to explore the kitchen a bit more. Perhaps someone would show up soon and shed some light on why I was summoned here. As I walked around, I noticed the neatly arranged pots and pans, the gleaming countertops, and the faint aroma of freshly brewed coffee lingering in the air. It was a well-maintained and organized kitchen, reflecting the grandeur of the mansion.I took a seat at the island in the center of the

LoganI sounded my fist on Olivia's door while waiting for her to open up. I'm running late. And after what she told me last night, we have to be cautious. My family shouldn't know about it. I have to warn her to be careful. "Oliv-"And then the door swung open, revealing Olivia in her sleep-rumpled state. I don't know if the rules have been explained to her. "Good morning," she muffled out, yawning. I walked past her into the room, a sense of urgency driving my words."We have to be careful," I started, my tone serious. "Last night, you mentioned that Amelia knows about your pregnancy. It's crucial that we keep this information hidden from the rest of the family. They can't find out."Olivia regained her composure, her eyes meeting mine in disbelief. "You should have informed me that your sister-in-law is a doctor. I wouldn't have agreed to come to your house if I knew that."I ran my hands through my hair in frustration, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on me. "That

Olivia"So you mean to tell me that you can't stay outside past 10pm?" Jamie asked after I broke the news of the rules and traditions in the Nero family."Yes, that's what I was told," I replied, feeling a mix of frustration and resignation. Jamie's disbelief mirrored my own sentiments. It seemed unfair and restrictive, but I knew I had to abide by these rules for the time being."Wow. What a tradition. But that's bullshit. You're not part of the family, so I don't see the reason why you would be included in their traditions," Jamie exclaimed, voicing the thoughts that echoed in my mind. If it were Jamie in my position, she would never agree to such limitations. And to be honest, neither would I under normal circumstances. But now, I had to prioritize my baby's well-being and make sacrifices."I'm part of the family and yet not part of the family," I mused, sitting up as a customer walked into the clinic. Being in a complicated situation like this required delicate balance and tact. I

Olivia Three months laterI stared at my reflection in the mirror. I saw a different woman. I knew I had changed both physically and emotionally within the span of a year, from the time I met Logan up to this stage. I couldn't be thankful enough. I had a good set of people in my life and a caring, loving husband like Logan.Words couldn't express how grateful I was for having him in my life. Every day was a new discovery of him. Our love grew stronger with each passing day. And then came our little prince, Tristan. My eyes traveled to his sleeping figure on the bed. Three months had gone by so fast. Logan was actually serious when he said he'd pamper him. That was exactly what he did. Sometimes, I used to feel guilty when he stayed awake with me as we tried to put Tristan to sleep at night. But Logan would still insist that he doesn't mind. He wanted to be there for me and our baby.As for the family, they showed immense support too, especially Amelia, who made sure to check my healt

I questioned, sparing him a look."Maybe Father has decided to free us. Scott hasn't been at the office for two days now. He's following your footsteps."My lips curved up. "You guys should thank Olivia for stepping up for you. Her presence in this house has really made an impact."Liam nodded his head in agreement. "You're right. You know, I don't know whether I should say this, but I had a crush on Olivia when she first came to this house."My surprise was visible as I stared at Liam. "Don't attack me. Olivia“Olivia, please take a seat first,” Amelia held me by the shoulder and tried to make me sit. I had given birth barely up to five hours, but the tension inside me showed no signs of calming down. Not when I knew my grandma was battling for her life in the ICU.“I don’t know, Amelia. I’m scared. What if something happens to her? I can’t…” I choked on my words. Sarah joined in, and both of them placed comforting hands on my shoulder.I had been pacing around the hallway of the ICU, waiting for the doctor to show up while I left Logan and Jamie in the room where I had been admitted with the baby.“You shouldn’t stress yourself; you’re not strong. She’ll be fine. The doctors are skilled, and the operation will be a success,” Sarah reassured. I took a sharp breath and nodded my head, not because of anything but to ease their worry.Thirty minutes turned into an hour before the doctor finally emerged. I rose to my feet and rushed towards him. “Doctor, how is my grandma? Is she okay?”

Logan and I are married."She threw me a glare in return. "Are you his mouth? I'm talking to Logan, not you."I formed my lips into a thin line. "Sure, go on," I urged, using my hand to indicate that she should continue. I didn't even want to look at Logan, knowing he might become nervous."My plan is simple. I'm going to make her the happiest person alive." Heat crept up my cheeks at his words. Logan always knew how to warm my heart and make butterflies erupt in my stomach. I was sure lucky to have someone like him in my life. I would say he was like an angel sent to me to shower my life with love and happiness.I was snapped back to reality by Grandma's words. Looks like Grandma will just have to hire you. People are liking your fried shrimps,” I said with an amused smile, brushing off his first statement.“Trying to dodge the topic by using sweet words on me, right?” I raised an eyebrow.“Did I? If I don’t shout, how would the customers hear me?” I voiced out. Logan dished out the shrimp onto three plates.“If they can’t hear, they should fuck off. They can’t stress my wife.” That made me blush like a fool, and I didn't try to hide it. “Easy. At least no one is flirting with your wife.” I mused.“They won’t even dare.” Logan winked at me, making the situation even worse. I don't know why I was getting so nervous, maybe because of the look she was giving me. I hadn't felt this nervous in a while. I think even if I went for a job interview I wouldn’t be this nervous. "Grandma, first of all, I won't beat around the bush. I'll be straightforward with you," I began. She raised an eyebrow. I continued, "You should be thankful that you've had the chance to still be alive at this stage of life. Some people your age are battling with incurable conditions. Olivia "Logan won't see the good side of me today," I muttered, staring at my phone. I was certain I had heard a female voice on the other end. Where could he have gone? He doesn't know many places around here."Cut that poor man some slack. Must he always be with you twenty-four hours a day?" Jamie hissed as she took a sip of her lemonade. We had stopped at a restaurant, and I was suddenly craving the "hungry man size" meal we had last time with Logan. I was still eating when I decided to call Logan and ask if he wanted me to order takeout for him, but that's when I heard the female voice."Yes! He's supposed to be. He's my husband after all," I replied, tossing her a glare. Jamie's visit had been sudden, but it came at the right time when Grandma was playing hard to get.The way I had broken down in tears earlier had touched her deeply. I didn't understand why Grandma was being so stubborn about not wanting the kidney transplant. I had even begged the doctor to let me be her donor.

I'm sure this meeting isn't just about seeing an old face, although I must say it brings back memories."I understood what he meant by 'old memories.' In the past, that remark might have soured my mood, but now it didn't affect me like it used to. Mr. Norman was my mother's personal doctor. When she left my father's house, she lived next door to Mr. Norman's house, and he was the one who treated her illness. He knew about everything, even though I was with her for only a short while before my father took custody of

What does shouting have to do with making money?"If only he knew. "Do you have any idea how much we've made so far? You underestimate the magic of your cooking skills. Keep going," I urged, taking the two plates and heading out to serve the customers. There were still more orders to take. When Logan and I decided to open the restaurant, we initially planned to offer just one menu, noodles, as it was the easiest option. However, to our surprise, customers started pouring in.
