Chapter Eighty-one

I don't think I have the right to cry over this matter. It is left for Neil to choose whatever he likes. What have I not experienced in this life? Gabriel has done a lot to me that I can absorb whatever shock I receive today.

A knock came on the door. "Zina, it's me." That was Neil's mother. I wiped my tears and rushed to wash my face and dried it with my towel and went to open the door for her.

"Zina, are you okay?"

"Yes mom, I am fine."

"Your eyes tell it all. I wouldn't want you to think too much about what happened earlier. His father has scolded him because what he did was totally wrong. So I understand your pain. Nobody will take your place and I assure you that."

The whole thing she said brought me to tears. She drew me closer to herself and I rested my head on her bosom while I cried out my heart. She patted me on my back.

"It's okay my dear. We need to be in the kitchen now."

I wiped my tears immediately and asked her what we were cooking. "What do you think we should prep
