Chapter 2 – I Disagree, Sir.
Kiara’s POV
I arrived at school a little bit late because of the difficulty in getting gin a public transportation since there are a lot who were entering their jobs and schools in the morning as well.
When I arrived at the University’s gymnasium, it was already filled with students who came from different courses and program but carries a business subject. Most students who are present right now are the business students, economics, math courses/program students, and engineering and architecture students since we also have to deal with how structural projects and business works, dealing with money yes.
The gymnasium was so noisy due to the girls’ squeals and cheers to the famous and young bachelor Mr. Phoenix Ramirez. Of course who would not want him? young, successful, rich, and… hot. Ehem. Do not ask me if I want him or not.
I walked pass the students and when I turned to the stage, the guests and speakers are already there, seated on their respective places. Da-mn I am really late already, not just a bit.
Even with the distance I am at and to the stage, I could clearly see Mr. Phoenix Ramirez’ sharp jawline and deep eyes that looks like it is seducing anyone who would stare at it, pulling a person to its deepest flame of desire. Oh cut it, Kiara!
Hanes who was on the side of the podium waved at me and gesture me to hurry up, so I ran towards him.
“Where have you been?! Gad, Kiara you made me nervous!” Hanes uttered exaggeratedly. He is the president of the student council and well they had decided that we should be the masters of the ceremony. And he is quite nice and fun to be with. He spread his foldable fan and acted like stressed and fanned himself.
“Sorry, the traffic sucks.” I said and lowered down my bag to a wooden chair. I straightened the skirt of my dress since we are part of the event, we were required to dress semi-formally.
“Okay, in five minutes, we will start. Mr. Garces just arrived.” Hanes informed me so I took out my script from my bag and read it again. It is just few for us since this is a seminar so the guests and speakers will be the one who will talk a lot and discuss the lectures. We are just here to introduce and welcome them and to give ice breakers to the students when they get bored or something.
“Welcome everyone to our 35th Towards Growth Seminar!” Hanes started and the whole gymnasium was filled with shouts, screams, and cheers, and some even drummed their plastic water bottles not eh benches and chairs. The loud noise resonated in the closed gymnasium as if the walls would even shake due to the sound vibrations. Good thing, the drums of the University band are not present right now or else it would be worse.
The guests, speakers, and faculty and staff of the school clapped their hands with a smile.
Actually, whenever there are seminars, students would just clap too to acknowledge the guests, but right now, due to the presence of the hot bachelor, everyone’s hormones probably went wild and they are now treating this seminar like a concert or a university intramurals.
I gripped the microphone tightly on my hand and said with a smile,
“Alright, alright! Calm down y’all, we know why y’all going wild right now.” And then the cheers grew louder, there were even screaming Mr. Phoenix’s name, well he is the main guest today and the other are just PhD professors in the university and other PhD holders from private companies. They are all here to share their knowledge and ideas, and they also going to stay in the University for 6 days to give lectures about their topic, and as for Mr. Phoenix Ramirez, he would be discussing the content of his own book that he authored, it is all about business, running a property, assets, how to successful manage your business, and other fundamental and technical.
People, this is a formal seminar and not a fangirling meet up!
“Anyway, that is just Mr. Phoenix Van Ramirez, people, chill.” I uttered these are all out of script since we have to calm down the audience first before we formally start. Then Hanes turned to me abruptly,
“JUST Mr. Phoenix Van Ramirez?!” he exclaimed in disbelief at how I call Mr. Ramirez as “JUST” as if he is not famous or I am belittling him. But that was never my intention.
I heard “boos and oohs” from the crowd and I just laughed because this could be a good start to awaken the minds of the audience. A little bit of entertainment, good thing Hanes was able to react in a way that can be amusing.
“Oh girl, come on, look at him, he is Mr. Phoenix Van Ramirez, one of the hottest and youngest bachelor in the city!” Hanes exclaimed, praising Mr. Ramirez and the faculty and staff along with the guests just laughed at it while the audience cheered again.
Hanes is a gay and he is really good in public communication/speaking, and his reactions are entertaining as well.
When I glanced at the guests, my eyes caught Mr. Ramirez looking at me with a look of disbelief and with an eyebrow raised. Well, probably he expected everyone to praise him and woo on him, well I admit he is like a greek god but hey, sometimes our amazement should be kept to ourselves.
“You should get a new prescription eyeglasses already Kiara.” Hanes said. Oh da-mn this b-tch he is going too far. The audience laughed at his remarked and I did as well since it was not really that serious.
“I probably should.” I agreed and then there was a minute of silence on us until the noise gradually toned down. And when we noticed that our microphone is now more dominant than the noise of the crowd, Hanes spoke.
“Alright, that must have awakened your minds and prepared your souls for another knowledge gathering. And oh, please do not sleep, Mr. Phoenix Van will be watching you all. You would not want to get caught drooling in your sleep right?” Hanes joked and we all laughed.
“No worries on that, our speakers topics and lectures for this seminar and on the following days are too interesting, and it would be so bad to miss it… Anyway, before we dive onto that, let us first introduce our guests and speakers for today. Kick it off, Hanes.” I said and the introduction of the guests and speakers and acknowledgement to the presence of the University officials and faculty and staff followed.
With every speaker presented, the audience clapped and the others chanted the names of the professors as well especially if the students know them.

A few days ago, the seminar went smoothly and now, I am seated in a classroom and we are waiting for Mr. Ramirez to enter the class, this is already the third day of the speakers. This is like an extension of the seminar. I do not know how the University heads were able to convince this Phoenix Ramirez, coz if I am not wrong, he is a very busy person considering how huge his chains of hotels are.
During the past days, we managed to calm down and be professional in classes since we know that these guests are going out of their way and probably even cancelling important schedules just to teach us what we need to learn in life outside the school since we are already graduating students in a few months.
The discussion went on until the open forum cam where there are questions and answer for clarification about the topic or anything related to the course.
Some students went on asking question and totally agreeing with Mr. Ramirez’s answer. And some were even sharing their knowledge and then would ask to Mr. Ramirez if they were right or not. Ah, just getting attention, and impressing the bachelor huh?
As the question and answer went on, I noticed something that it did not quite sit well on me. There could be a better way and idea for it which could reduce the cost of the project.
I raised my hand, and everyone turned to me, especially my classmates since they know that I do not really recite in class, just when I have some question and those questions and insights I usually throw to some of our professors does not quite agreeable on them.
My classmates who know me well when I talk in class are probably wondering again what the heck bullish I am going to criticize or question. But hey this is just for clarification and expansion of knowledge, is it not?
“I disagree on that, Sir.” I uttered and I saw how Mr. Ramirez frowned at me, and I also heard some of my classmates sighed. Well, I always get in trouble for crossing professors sometimes though they really don’t expect it since I am usually quiet, unless I have to express my insights. And sometimes, due to my questioning of matters, or corrections on some exams, my classmates would hate me for it. Funny.
The student who asked him the particular question sat down and looked at me curiously.
“I’m sorry? You are Ms. Kiara Stones, right?” Mr. Ramirez uttered and I replied,
“Yes, Sir.”
“So, what were you saying?”
“I disagree on what you just said, Sir, and at that presentation.” I said and some of my classmates especially the class president, they literally face palmed themselves and others shook their head in disbelief, holding their forehead.
Mr. Ramirez raised an eyebrow at me, but I did not see any annoyance or offense on his part, but he was quite amused, probably for the first time there was someone who is not a “yes man” on him. People who only agrees and does not question further.
“Really? This is one of my hotels and it is successfully built and being managed very well ---………

Chapter 3 – I Am ImpressedKiara’s POV“Really? This is one of my hotels and it is successfully built and being managed very well.” He replied.“I know that, sir. I can see that. But… as we were talking earlier about cost effectiveness and its relation to the product or in your case we call it structures since they are hotels, I do not think that this project did very well.” I said and with the way Mr. Ramirez smirked, I saw how the girls went flustered with wide eyes staring at him. Well, I am stunned at how he looks so good with that smirk as well, but I know how to control myself.“Care to enlighten me and your point?” he said.I stood up from my seat and I raised my eyebrows at him and pointed at the presentation projected on the digital touch screen in front. Mr. Ramirez nodded in understanding that I was asking his permission if I can use the pre
Chapter 4 – A SeductressKiara’s POVOn the next day, the discussions went peacefully, without me interrupting or questioning again because in all fairness there was nothing to question anymore.“What time are you coming home again tonight?” my mother asked as I was about to head out of our house and go to my work. I lifted my bag that contains my high heels and clothes to change into after my work. For my costumes and dresses, they are left in the club and the manager would be in charge of those, and besides I cannot take them home coz mom might flip she finds them in my closet.“Of course mom, when I am done with my job.” I chuckled and tried to enlighten the mood coz I know that she is worried about me.“Kiara, why don’t you just find another job instead? Something that would not require you to stay up so late at night.”“I…
Chapter 5 – Take You To My HouseThird Person POVHis jaw tightened as he watched her slim and fit body move in the slow music, how she graze her fingertips on her fair and delicate skin, her hips swayed, he just can’t take his eyes off her as if Kiara’s movements were hypnotizing him. And her eyes, he can now clearly see them since her eyeglasses were removed and she is wearing clear contacts, her beautiful face, he just can’t stop himself to marvel at her. He sipped on his glass of rum and continued staring, taking all her actions in registration in his mind, getting pulled with her seductive moves. But he hate it. He hate it that she is doing this job, he hate it that somebody else were seeing what he sees, that somebody else might be thinking of rubbing themselves on her delicate body. And that thin piece of clothing that barely covers her, does she have to wear that? Phoenix was not used to
Chapter 6 – A Woman With No DignityThird Person POV“Fine then, I will take you to my house.”“Sir, put me down!” Kiara said but Phoenix did not listen until they reached the parking lot.Phoenix unlocked his car and opened the door and deposited Kiara on the front passenger seat then he immediately slammed the door and locked it while he walked to the other side, unlocked it again and entered. He did not say a word as he started the car’s engine and drove.“Sir, what are you doing?! I need to work!”“Your address or to my house? You choose.” Phoenix said while looking at the road and they have not gone too far from the street of the night club yet, they were already welcomed by a heavy traffic on the main road.“Aren’t you listening, Sir Phoenix? I need to go back! Open this damn door.” Kiara raised her voice but
Chapter 7 – S-ex or Chocolate?Kiara’s POVI looked away first before my classmates notice something. He stood in front and placed his laptop on the table and looked at us, leaning back his pelvis at the edge of the desk, looking at us all with his arms folder on his chest.“Since it is the last day, I won’t be discussing anything to you guys anymore. But you are free to ask me any questions for an hour until our time ends.” Sir Phoenix said and my classmates looked at each other. Yeah, I know what they are thinking. They are going to ask him questions that are not related with our lectures“Any question, sir?” Jam asked with silly smile on his face.Phoenix tilted his head and frowned, hesitating like he does not get the question as to why Jam asked it.“Yeah?” Phoenix replied and our classmates sounded their ‘oohs’ again.&ld
Chapter 8 – Get Her To MeKiara’s POVI hurriedly picked up my belongings and walked fast to catch up on Mr. Phoenix who just went out of our room. I looked sideway from left to right to find him but there are too much students coming out of their room already, filling the once empty hallway. But I continued to search and due to his tall built and strong presence, I was able to spot him in the crowd and besides, he is outstanding sea of people especially that there are groups of university girls squealing when they saw him.Why did the school even invite him anyway, just to discuss his book and his knowledge to his success at an early age? Another professor could have just discussed his book instead and for his success, well, not everyone wants it anyway so why bother?I pushed myself against the flow of the crowd until I managed to reach him and stand by his side. I had to quicken my pace as w
Chapter 9 – Drive You To CourtThird Person POV“Get her to me. I’ll be paying for her remaining time.”“Sir? Who?” Madame asked and Phoenix stared at Kiara for a minute, and with that look, Madame knew who he was referring to already.“Alright, sir. I will go get her.”Madame approached the side of the stage and gestured at Kiara to come over which she obliged.“A VIP wants you. Come on down.” Madame said so Kiara went down. And due to such request, the men protested at her disappearance from the stage.“Oh come on, why’d you take her out!”“Bring her back!”“K! Come back!”The men protested but they were not able to do anything since she is already out and another girl replaced her position on the stage. Kiara took the bills clipped in her high heels before she c
Chapter 10 – A Night With YouThird Person POV“Hi, can I have one stick of fish cake, please?” Kiara said and handed her coins to the vendor. After a couple of seconds she now got her food, but she finished it quickly and smiled in satisfaction, as she dumped the stick on the trash can of the stall.“One more, please, it is delicious!” she said, satisfying her cravings. She continued to eat until she had three. Phoenix just watched her from behind, he was not that far but Kiara seemed to be so engrossed at the food and had forgot the presence of Phoenix already.Just when she turned around to look for the stall selling barbecue, her eyes caught Phoenix and it dawned her that she is still with him yet she forgot.“Oh jeez, sir, sorry, I forgot about you. Here come on.” Kiara said and grabbed the sleeve of his dark blue blazer and pulled her to the fish cake
Chapter 46 - He Is Not Like Father!Morning came and Kiara had an earful lecture from her mother while they have their coffee to cure her aching head though she did not drink too much last night yet her head was aching and she was thankful that Phoenix gave her an off today and actually she does not remember James telling it to her, glad he told her mom. Kiara might be pulling a bit string on Phoenix for this day off from her and it is still her second day at work, she is kind of glad that she is not entering work today and might bump into Stacey again.“I understand everything now, mom.” Kiara said, hearing her mother repeatedly reminds her of getting hurt because of those wealthy people.“You do not usually drink, Kiara, and you only do it when there is something heavy both
Chapter 45 – We’re All Messed Up“Friends with benefits, they do.” James replied and Kiara’s face dropped.“I don’t give him benefits like that.” She replied, knowing exactly what James was talking about.“Did you ask him?” he asked.Kiara frowned in puzzlement. “Ask? Ask him what?”“What you two really are.”And that was when it dawned to her. There was never a clear verbal affirmation from Phoenix. He never told her that he loves her.“Do… do you think should I ask him that?” she wondered, and her head was not taking the alcohol lightly anymore, however, she can still think properly to process everything that James was telling her.“I do not know… I mean, so that you would know what to do. You cannot love him still and be a martyr if he does not feel the same way right?”“And
Chapter 44 – Friends Don’t KissThe day ended with Kiara ignoring Phoenix’s calls and messages, asking where she is. She walked on the streets of Garse, getting lost in her thoughts and in the crowd of people passing by, letting her feet take her wherever it goes, and wondering how her life turned to be this complicated just because of love. If only… If only she had not fallen for him in the first place, then everything should have been better and less complicated. It would have been just her, an architect, working in a company, having daily work routines, and not getting too much to think about her boss whom eventually she fell in love with. Tough luck!Everything should have stayed in their places. No crossing of boundaries. No going beyond the limits. But then, it already happened, and it is not like they can still turn back the time and fix it all up in the beginning just to avoid the complications off today.
Chapter 43 – A Game He Can PlayThird Person POVWhile Kiara and Phoenix were tidying the table and putting aside the plates they used for lunch, they both looked at the door when it bursts open, and there stood the surprised yet pissed off Stacey Morgan.“Who are you?!” she asked, closing the door behind her.Phoenix glanced at Kiara and she avoided his gaze, finishing in cleaning the table. He stood up then and faced Stacey.“This... is Kiar—“ Phoenix was cut off when Stacey recognized her familiarity.“Wait, I know you. I’ve seen you before. You’re a friend of one of Phoenix’s maid, isn’t it? What are you doing here? And Phoenix did you just eat lunch with her?”“Shut it Stacey. This is Architect Kiara Stones.” Phoenix retorted with a reprimanding tone. The he added with a clear annoyance in his voic

Don’t mind him.” Phoenix replied yet he knows that there is some truth in his cousin’s statement. If he is not careful, what he and Kiara has could crumble into ashes. They followed James inside and the Engr. Paula and Gregory stood up to greet Phoenix.“It’s nice you could join us tonight, sir.” Paula said and she and Gregory noticed his hand on Kiara’s back, yet they did not judge her or anything, they just smiled at Kiara. However, she did not mind for she thought that no one knows her in the area anyway so it is alright, and that she is too happy to care at the moment. She just wants to celebrate right now.B
Chapter 39 – The ContractThird Person POVA couple of hours passed after all the architects finished the presentation. The board of directors and engineers had a final analysis on the designs and judged the presentation, and since the designs have been reviewed and sent to them earlier before the presentation, they have already noticed and took note of some points to consider. When the decision had been on the hand of an employee that was assisting the board of judges on the event, the architects were all called to the room wherein in front on the stage was the large screen monitor and a hologram projector. They were asked to seat on the assigned area for them at the side lined with chairs and a table in front of them. The directors and engineers seated on their places, looked at them and they were surprised to see a new, fresh, and young face. They whispered at each other as to who she is and Kiara felt a little
Chapter 38 – The PresentationThird Person POVKiara woke up and found herself cuddled on Phoenix’ chest while his arm was wrapped around her waist, keeping her close to him.The morning sun was shining on the sky, striking the place with complete brightness but it did not woke up Phoenix as he was still in a deep slumber. The wind was gushing cold and it was just right to balance the heat coming out from the sun.She moved and tried to lift up his arm removing from her but he just tightened it and buried his face more on her hair.“Phoenix, the sun’s up.”“I know.” He mumbled.“Let’s get up, shall we?”Phoenix then withdrew his hand and let Kiara sat up. She blinked repeatedly when her eyes landed on the sky. The light did not bother them on their sleep for they were able to drive the truck under a large tree that covers them
