Fighting For Myself

Eliza’s POV

As I watched Alex hurriedly dash into his office, a mix of emotions swirled within me. There was a part of me that felt a glimmer of relief as his presence momentarily retreated, providing a brief respite from the constant tension that surrounded us. Yet, a deep sense of dread settled in my chest, knowing that this was just a temporary reprieve from the storm that loomed over our lives.
