He was staring at her.
While she’d been daydreaming he had looked up and happened to catch her eye. Even from across the room, she could feel his smoldering gaze.He held her eyes for a few more seconds before he looked away.
Reid thought she saw a spark in his eyes. It was gone in a flash, and she wondered if her brain had tricked her into seeing things since she was exhausted and hungry.
Shrugging it off her thoughts, she walked over to the exquisite dinner table where she had left her phone and began checking her emails and text messages.
She had a couple missed calls from her brother ,Steve, and a message from her friend ,Maya, and another one from a store to deliver the package she had ordered. She called her brother first, knowing he must have been worried as he didn't hear from her all day.
She loved her brother but sometimes he was such a worrywart. She hoped one day he’d stopped worrying about her and focus on his relationship and life with his fiancee who was also her best friend,Maya. Maya was good for him and Reid had desperately prayed and hoped they would finally settle down soon. Her brother was an upright, honest and faithful man unlike her boss and he deserved the world.
Sometimes she wondered how her kind brother and the arrogant Gabriel Sullivan became friends. They were polar opposites of each other. In the nearly six months that she’d been working for him, she had already sent six different notes accompanying equally polite, pretty floral designs to her boss’s lady friends which was just a polite equivalent of “Thanks for the night, Let’s never see each other again”. One woman for every new month. It was sickening.
“Miss King”,She jumped guiltily when the object of her thoughts called her curtly.
“Yes,Sir?”
“Ready to get back to work?”
Not really. She wasn't ready to continue working yet but she didn't want to give him another reason to doubt her competence so she had no choice but to respond in affirmation.
“Of course, Sir”,she said, glad she was able to keep her voice cool and emotionless.
She trudge over to the coffee table at the side of the room that she had claimed as her work station and grudgingly sat down. The impact of her back and butt hitting the hard surface of the high backed chair caused her to wince in pain.
She rolled her shoulder blades and sighed quietly as she closed her eyes and massage the tightly knotted muscles in the back of her neck.
“Are you tired?”
She froze as she heard Sullivan voice coming from behind her. He had been watching her. She turned over to meet his dark, sultry gaze.
He had come up right behind her with his hands shoved in his trouser pockets. He was leaning over her and staring right at her.
“A little”,she admitted.
He nodded, and seemed to weigh his next words before speaking with his eyes still on her.
“Would you like a massage?”
Reid blinked, shocked by his question noticing the change in his eyes. Until that moment, she hadn't realized that he saw her as a woman, yet the way he was looking at her right now told her that he did.
She knew quite well what he was offering and where it would lead. It was not just a simple massage and he wanted her to know it too.
Reid was confused and didn't know what to do. She was glad he saw her as a woman especially since it was in contrast to how he’d been treating her ever since she was hired. But she also knew how he'd treated the women around him.
She had seen it firsthand. She looked at him and tried to read his expression, maybe it was a slip of tongue.
Despite everything he still kept his hands to himself and had not tried to touch her waiting for her response. His face remained impassive. If she refused his offer she imagined he would simply laugh it off,and they would pretend as if this crazy moment never happened.
“Did she want to refuse him?” She wondered. She was tired and frustrated and all she wanted to do was to relax, unwind and let off some steam and he had offered to do just that.
She might hate his guts, but she would be lying if she said she wasn't sexually attracted to him. Maybe just once. It wasn't like she had any feelings for him or he had any feelings for her. The two of them were the only two on this trip and nobody would know. There was no love or flowers or hearts or romance or any feelings attached. They were both adults and both wanted it. Who would it harm?. Just a taste to last a lifetime and one she would put behind her and forget about as soon as she got home.
It was plain and simple. Her mind raced trying to reassure herself that it couldn't go wrong.
Gabriel Sullivan watched as different range of emotions were displayed on his secretary’s overly expressive face.
He was just as surprised at his question as she was. His mind travelled back to the day they’d first met.
He had noticed her since the first day he'd seen her,he wasn't blind, she had captured his attention almost immediately, although he had pretended not to take notice of her
She was tempting as hell and he had tried his best to avoid her especially because of the ties to her brother.
He was sure Steve wouldn't take it lightly if he messed around with his sister, which is why he had limited the amount of time he'd spent with her as much as possible and instead made her run errands outside of the office .
Back at the office he could easily avoid her but now that he was on this trip with her alone in the penthouse suite he couldn't resist it any longer. He was only human.
His day hadn't gone well, and he was frustrated and irritated at the slow progress of the project.
Now after seeing her he was horny as hell.
He wasn't going to force her. If she wasn't interested they'd move on and forget about it. It would probably be for the best anyway,he knew the nature of his proposition was both inappropriate and insane. “He should just withdraw his offer now and shrug it off”,he reasoned.
“Yes,thank you”
Her whispered words brought his train of thoughts to an instant stop. His jaw dropped as he watched her. The shapely defined features of her hair move forward to hide her face, the gesture was so little yet so sensual.
He hesitated before reaching for her and caught a whiff of a fresh, floral scent that did strange things to his body. Her scent had tantalized his senses all day. His throat went dry as he reached for her again, his fingers travelled down her soft, exposed flesh, his breath shuddered out of his chest.
He deepened his touch, pulling her closer, every instinct in him was screaming that this was a mistake. He had already star

He was painfully and instantly hard.
What was she doing? She couldn't control herself any longer,it was as if rational thought had left her. Her body was acting on its own and she couldn't stop it. She knew it was a mistake the moment his lips came in contact with her lips. The intensity of the kiss stunned her. She could feel his eyes on her, his hands trailing over her body and sliding off her clothes with intense focus, deepening the kiss. All rational thought disappeared in that moment and she couldn't think of anything else. She tangled her hands between his hair and pulled him closer. He slids his body on top of her and his kiss begins to deepen. He lifts his head to stare at her with full concentration. His stare brought a full burst of desire within her. She had slept with him. Her mind was still reeling from what had happened just a few hours ago. What was she going to blame, the stress and exhaustion of the day, the alcohol or maybe temporary insanity. She must have lost her mind. So many thoughts ran through her head on succession.Jerking her thoughts away from questions she couldn't answer, she headed towards the bathroom pulling off her crumpled clothes on the way. She filled up the bathtub, setting the water temperature to a warmer temperature. She watched as it filled with water, the trickling sound of the water cooled her fraying nerves. Her mind began racing again. How was she going to face him tomorrow?. Now that it had happened, she wasn't sure she was cool enough to pretend nothing had happened between them.“Well you should have thought of that before you slept with him”, her mind chatised her.All the rational reasoning she had locked in at the back of her mind were finally making an entrance.
