"A...are you sure...this looks horrible," I said, showing her what I was wearing. I was way too overwhelmed for this, I woke up around 4 AM just to make sure I wasn't late for this. By the time I was calling Alexis to see how far she had gone well I was perplexed to know she was just waking up

"Aww someone looks like she's the boss lady"Alexis teased as she scanned me from head to toe. I didn't like her behavior one bit, I wanted her to be honest with me and not to tease me because this was important. I wanted to make a good first impression and I was damned to go through my clothes just to look flawless

"Stop teasing and tell me how is it...is it too flash...maybe too short...how is the color huh...the hair is it too shiny... should I tie it instead"I fired her with all sorts of questions turning to the mirror to take a look and Alexis chuckled and walked up to me. She came to view and I frowned when she rested both her hands on my shoulders

"Get off...are your hands clean...not you touched the concealer", I said, shrugging her away from me. She laughed instead of getting upset and I frowned

"This is just our internship...you look beautiful, I'm serious Vivie...you rock in everything you wear, and now...let's go before we tardie," she said and walked up to my bed and grabbed our files and purse. I quickly fixed my hair which I had washed minutes earlier, applied my best hair products and blow-dried it so it could be straight and silk, and used a curling iron to make curls. Of course, how I smelled mattered hence I took my prized possession. Call it seductress perfume but I decided to use my most expensive perfume gifted by Alexis on the new year

"You smell wonderful...I just want to eat you" she said dramatically while inhaling me and I elbowed her feeling shy "I'm certain the boss will like you at first sight just by your scent princess" she added while laughing and I had no choice but to join in as we walked out of my room. Forget breakfast we were going to have it later

"Okay so first thing first...here is your file" she handed me my blue file and I cradled it in my arms and would read it once we got in the taxi.

"So about our destination...I have the address dad sent us...I guess it isn't far from here how lucky" she added and I nodded while busy trying to put my purse together. I was a mess and anxious about this

"Taxi" I called out once we got out of the building and saw some taxis parked to the sides..one drove straight to us and we got in without wasting time

"Where to?" the driver asked and Alexis handed him a note

"Take us to that address"

"Okay miss hang on," he said after putting on some music to relax us. I sat there thinking about what I would do. This was incredible. I came. back to London and I didn't even see Victor one bit or any of the Ellison family members. I just hoped my new work would keep me so busy that I won't even have time to meet any of them

"I forgot to ask...did your dad tell you the company name already?"I turned to Alexis who was busy applying makeup. And some eyeshadow as well as blush. I forgot about makeup. I didn't think it was necessary so I just applied some lip gloss so that my lips didn't appear all chapped up

"Yeah it's there in the file...it's woah... careful man" she started saying but got cut when the driver stopped the car abruptly causing us to be pushed forward unexpectedly. I didn't mind but Alexis wasn't happy

"Well...we are here", he said and I was stunned, it was a ten-minute drive...how nice

"Okay, here and thank you," I said with a smile and handed him cash. I quickly took my things and fought to open the car door and once I did. I stepped out with a huge smile on my face but that soon disappeared when I looked up and my eyes widened at the sight of the skyscraper building for me. I was beyond shocked such that time seemed to have stopped for me

"Oh God it's better than I imagined, so mesmerizing," Alexis said with cheers as she joined me and twirled around inhaling in the fresh hair..the place itself was nothing ordinary. Of course, how was it going to be ordinary when it belonged to

"Ellison group of companies"I muttered without moving my lips and I heard Alexis snap her fingers in delight

"Yup that's it...how did you know?" she asked as she peeked at me but I was frozen in place. My legs were stiff and my feet were rooted in one place. This was not happening. How on Earth was this possible

"This can't be"I mumbled to myself as fear washed over me. I should have known that this was what Alexis' dad meant if I knew that I was coming here then I would have refused 

"Come on...let's go"Alexis grabbed my arm bringing me back to my senses and before I could refuse and run away from here. I didn't want to be here and see that grumpy man..after three years why did fate have to do this to me.

"No no. I can't be here" I finally stopped shoving Alexis away from me. By now both of us were by the entrance door and she was surprised at my outburst. This was serious..how on Earth was I to do this huh

"What's going on huh...this is, "Alexis said, sounding irritated but her words died in her mouth when soon the door to the building opened and a lady and a man in a suit walked out together with several people all nicely dressed up. Alexis and I were stunned as they pushed upon us and one of them was that lady we met back at the hotel..the one who took the little girl

"And you two are?" the same lady walked up to us and asked scanning Alexis and I

"N...new interns"Alexis replied sounding nervous and the lady narrowed her eyes then smiled at us

"That's great you are just in time...please join the others in receiving the boss," she said and gestured around showing us the employees lined up from side to side and left a path in the middle which led inside. Alexis and I exchanged glances and soon did as told. I was so nervous that I kept my head bowed. I badly wanted to disappear into the crowd and hide from being seen, unfortunately, that wasn't likely to happen when I was a redhead. Curse my red hair. How was I to blend in now when my hair screamed Vivienne from a mile away

"Wow...we are going to meet him...so thrilling" Alexis murmured cheerfully and grabbed my shaky hand in hers. She was happy while I was going through agony, my heart was jumping up and down causing me so much pain. I haven't felt this scared before. Not even when I was giving birth because my stomach was turning and twisting from fright. And when I heard murmurs rising among the employees and the sound of approaching cars and I was drenched in sweat. This was not the plan I had in mind. 

I lowered my head, even more, retreating backward to hide somewhere. Sooner or later I was going to meet the man and when I heard other employees especially females giggling and talking about their boss I melted to butter but I was curious to see him hence I slowly lifted my head and peeked to see the man. And yes several cars had parked right there, seven to more men in black suits got out of the car and I couldn't believe the man had to show off like this

"Since when did this grumpy man need such a presidential escort" I mumbled to myself clenching my hand into a tight fist. He was over exaggerating this. The escort was too but what could one do when the man was Victor Ellison. He was every woman's dream

"Wow he's so handsome" I heard the ladies murmur to each other and I rolled my eyes in annoyance and kept my head down as the man started approaching. I didn't dare look up when I heard movements but that familiar scent was irresistible. The masculine sandalwood smell of male spices. The scent I loved more than anything, the scent which drove me insane each time I was close to him, and the smokey scent reminded me of the times I snuggled in his arms in the past. One special night,I got a chance to experience something so intimate. From his warm hugs to his kisses, his masculine move which was naturally husky and intoxicating

This was a bad idea because immediately I got a full whiff of his scent. I automatically lifted my head to look up and time seemed to have stopped for me, I didn't know the man had stopped right before me. I swallowed hard and fiddled with my hands which had turned so cold like ice.

 He was looking forward but I could feel his side gaze on me. I didn't look away but I knew he was aware I was back in his life. His presence, his intoxicating aura, and his gaze made me feel weak in the knees. He was completely different, dressed in a navy blue slim-fit suit which made him look even more handsome, his broad shoulders came out so intimidating but that wasn't what surprised me by the length of his hair. How on Earth did he do this, he knew how much I loved his long hair but it was cut. Very much short and leveled the right way even the beard was not the same. I stared at him even if I was only seeing half of his face

"Welcome sir," the same lady said after some time and walked beside Victor. This whole time it felt like time had been paused and just played when the lady spoke. I took one last glimpse of him and he smirked and proceeded forward. I swore I saw that sinister smirk I have never seen before. The men blocked my view of him as they walked after him and only when he was inside did all of us exhale as if we just realized we were supposed to be breathing

"Wow, never met a man like him...his aura is so strength draining, "Alexis said with a heavy exhale and we heard some of the employees say the same. I didn't mind as my eyes were glued to the door where others were going in from.

"You are Ms. Payton and Ms. Crawley right?" We were asked by the same lady and I was stunned she worked here. I don't remember seeing her three years back. I guess things have changed so much. I knew some of the employees since I used to come here more often but never saw her

"Yes ma'am," I said with a smile and the lady frowned at me

"Call me Priscilla and welcome I'm your supervisor," she said introducing herself and Alexis and I nodded with a low bow and followed her inside. I saw how busy the employees were getting to their stations

"Wow," Alexis said and I had to say things changed so much .The interior design had changed so much. It was even more breathtaking.

"So first...I'll ask someone to show you around...just so you can be familiar with your work place…" the lady said as she led us towards the elevator. Of course, the place might have changed but I knew my way around. I knew Victor's office or maybe he changed it but I knew where it was. I knew where the main conference room was and the cafeteria as well as some departments

"So I have a meeting with the HR...I'll assign someone to give you work until…" the lady said but soon stopped when her phone started ringing. She excused herself and walked a little from it and we stood there talking about random things

"Did you see him...never seen a man like him...so handsome...I wonder if he's single. Did you see those women drooling over him like some sick puppies?"Alexis said as if she was reciting a speech. Of course, I didn't even want to hear anything about Victor. I was so anxious and nervous to see him in person when Priscilla took her time talking on the phone. She made things, even more, until she was done and walked right up to us

"Okay, so I guess things changed...Ms. Payton…there's work for you...in the boss's office"the lady said and Immediately the words left her mouth, I was stunned. I glanced at Alexis and she was beaming at me

"N...now?"I had to ask and she nodded

"Yes...it's best to start work now...the boss hates waiting, please proceed to the filth floor he's waiting, "Priscilla said, gesturing me to the elevator and I swallowed hard and looked at them one last time before I walked up to the elevator. The doors opened and I walked in all nervous. What did I get myself into and why did Victor request for me?
