"Really?" Devon's jaw dropped as he scooped another portion onto his plate. "Say today is my lucky day. I'm honored to taste our baby Mama's special cuisines. I must tell you it is the most delicious thing I've ever tasted."

"I'm glad you liked it." Hailey smiled. "My skills are so–so."

"Don't be so humble." Devon winked at her. "Your skills are so good. Has anyone ever told you that you're the perfect wife?" He darted a taunting glance at Kendrick whose attention was on his food.

"I hear that quite often." Hailey also darted Kendrick a glance.

"Great to know." Devon gave a soft laugh. "Otherwise, I can't imagine your amazing skills going unnoticed. I can tell you're a great match for my Buddy here."

Hailey wondered if the guy ever stopped smiling. And she seemed to be affected as well because she could no longer hide her own smile. Maybe because his compliments were too good.
