Hailey's fingers wandered to her eyelids. Was it so obvious that she had cried? And why was the Butler suddenly taking interest in her personal life with Kendrick? She gave the man a pointed look. It wasn't like he would do anything about it even if Kendrick had bullied her.

And those times he'd bullied her countlessly in the past, the man didn't appear to show any concern. Urgh! She wouldn't have even been surprised he had been secretly cheering Kendrick on.

After all, she had been the villain in the house and Kendrick was the saint. He was the angel.

A sigh left her lips and she wiped her face. What was she even thinking? Kendrick was literally the angel.

Her best friend was right. Some part of him seemed to radiate light.

Even though he had only treated her well selfishly just because of the baby, it was all in all an act of kindness.
