Chapter 33. Because of a Woman

Maggie entered Nelvan's ward while Lynda happened to be feeding him, creating an impression to Maggie that the two were a deeply loving couple, when in fact, Lynda was doing it at Nelvan's request, who pretended to be spoiled knowing Maggie would come.

"Now, I no longer need to worry about you," Maggie said as she approached. "I was only gone for a few hours, but you're already like this. Where is the care that usually follows you, letting you get injured like this?" she continued.

Nelvan let out a low sigh. Maggie said she wouldn't worry, but her words conveyed the opposite.

"Let's say I'm just having a stroke of bad luck," Nelvan replied curtly. Lynda looked at Nelvan in surprise, wondering why he spoke to his own mother like that.

"Excuse me, it seems like you two need to talk alone," Lynda interjected, but Nelvan grabbed the girl's hand to prevent her from leaving.

"Stay here; you haven't finished feeding me," Nelvan said.
