Chapter Forty-Nine - The Aftermath

"The deal is done now and luckily, we came out uncaught. We're just being so lucky!" The doctor said happily, when I surreptitiously visited, without the knowledge of Ben.

"Yes doctor. I have to fulfill my promise. It was indeed a job well done. I'm so happy. Thank you so much, doctor," I appreciated.

"How about the remaining pay? When will you get to pay it?" He asked the all important question.

"I'd get it from Ben today, when I get home. I'd give it to you tomorrow unfailingly, please," I replied.

"So, what were you going to tell him about the money? How would you have him give you the money?" The doctor was suddenly concerned.

"I'd think about that later. When I reach that bridge, I'll definitely cross it!" I said, tactfully.

"Well, if you say so," he shrugged.
