Valerie’s POV

As I walked down the sleek, glass-lined corridors, I felt the tension in the air. My heels clicked sharply against the polished floor, each step being a reminder of this battle I was soon to face. Charlotte wasn't just another adversary, she was the threat of unraveling all that I had fought to build.

The door to Charlotte's office burst open, and I strode inside without knocking, exuding confidence that was far from what I was feeling. Charlotte looked up from her desk, her perfectly manicured fingers paused on the keyboard as her eyes registered me.
